Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is working unprecedented magic at Chinese cinemas. Warner Bros. estimates the film grossed $2 million (1.4 million pounds) on 200 prints over the first five days of official release (January 30-February 3), an impressive sum for a foreign movie in China.

Rupert Grint’s new film Thunderpants will be released in the UK in May. The trailer for the film can be seen here (thanks to Karen for the link).
