Jo sent us an article at The Washington Post. The reporter claims that:

The "Harry Potter" pictures are based on individual children's books that have characters in common but only incidental narrative connection.
We at TLC suspect that said reporter has only seen the movies, and not read the books, which contain more than incidental narrative connection, and which aren't particularly children's books anyway.
