Jim Dale, Tony Award winner and one of the two talented actors to voice Harry Potter books on tape, is currently appearing in a revival of Trevor Griffiths’ play Comedians, directed by Scott Elliott, at the Samuel Beckett Theater (410 42nd St., New York City). A 1970s comedy about the rigors of making it in the stand-up business, this New Group production of Comedians has the wonderful Mr. Dale playing veteran comic Eddie Waters while Raul Esparza (an actor who has a major fan in this TLCer) portrays Waters’ apprentice, Gethin Price. Previews started January 3, so you can see it now; official opening night is January 15, and the show closes on February 23. For tickets go to TicketCentral.com or call them at 212.279.4200.
