Last night, winners were announced for the 2003 British Independent Film Awards. Included amongst those given awards was John Hurt, who played Mr. Ollivander in the first film. He was presented the 2003 Richard Harris Award in honor of the late actor who played Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films.

John Hurt, 63, won the Richard Harris Award for his contribution to British cinema. The star of The Elephant Man and Alien said he was “incredibly honoured”.

Hurt can be seen (or heard) in the upcoming movies Dogville and Hellboy. Thanks to Sue Upton for the tip
