Thanks to Marcus, I am thrilled to post that Jim Dale has officially been announced as the reader for the “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” book-on-tape from Listening Library. Dale has read ALL four Harry Potter books thus far but is most reknown for his work with “Goblet of Fire” in which he used 127 DIFFERENT voices for the various characters he came across.

“Being the reader for the Harry Potter audiobooks is an absolute joy for me as an actor. I ‘played’ 127 characters for HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE and I hope to revisit those old friends and meet many more in J.K. Rowling’s addition to the Harry Potter series,” said Dale.

I couldn’t agree more – and I’m quite envious of Mr. Dale. He, Stephen Fry, Rowling’s Editor Emma Matthewson, and her publisher Nigel Newton are probably the only people who get to read the book before it’s released.
