Snowflakes for Charity

Mary GrandPre, illustrator of the US edition of the Harry Potter novels, is contributing her work to charity. As part of a fundraising effort raise money for cancer research, Mary GrandPre has donated an original painted wood snowflake for auction. This is part of the "Robert's Snow" auction on Ebay, with the proceeds to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Mary GrandPre's work is one of many in an impressive roster of contributors who all donated handpainted snowflakes, including a rare original piece from author Eric Carle (The Very Hungry Caterpillar). Other authors donating their work are Marc Brown (Arthur series), Caldecott Medal winner Chris Van Allsburg (The Polar Express) and Ian Falconer ( Olivia ). This auction runs until December 12th.
