J.K.Rowling has joined other authors in an effort to have Edinburgh, Scotland become the first “World City of Literature.” Edinburgh, Rowling’s city of residence, would “act as a model for other cities around the world to celebrate their own literature and writers.” The Harry Potter author said the city had provided her with inspiration and believed its literary importance deserved to be recognised. “All the books in the series so far have been created largely in Edinburgh,” she said. “I have personal reasons for finding the city creatively inspirational. But it’s also impossible to live in Edinburgh without sensing its literary heritage everywhere. Other authors in the city’s past are Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Thanks Abe.
