On Nov. 17, the night before Goblet opens nationwide, P.S. 8 in Brooklyn is holding a special advance screening of the film. Tracy, a parent at the school, wrote to let us know that the event is being held to raise funds for the creation of a film program at the school, and is partially sponsored by the Steiner Film Studios in Brooklyn, New York. Representatives from the studio will be attending the screening. The event will begin with a special reception where Gordon Parks Sr., director, photographer, novelist and poet, will be honored; the film will premiere at 8:30 p.m.
I’m also quite honored to say I’ve been invited to the screening as a guest; I plan on attending and hope to see you there!

Time: 7:30 p.m.
Place: 68th St. and Broadway; Lincoln Square Loews
Tickets: $50, $75, $100. Sponsorship packages are also available and donations are tax-deductible.
