J.K. Rowling has given a brief new interview with CBBC Newsround about a subject near and dear to her, writing. This is in conjunction with the start of the National Children’s Book Week in the UK. Our favorite author gives tips to young writers, reveals how she gets inspiration for her writing, and answers this question on why books are so special:

The power of the printed word unites the author’s and the reader’s imaginations to create a unique vision. Entire worlds can be carried around inside these small, cheap, paper objects that don’t need plugs, modems or speakers. Books have survived for centuries; cinema is an upstart by comparison!
