JKR Funded Film About Domestic Violence, Company Says

British Newspaper Daily Express reported today that J.K. Rowling helped fund a film about domestic violence, Friday Night Shirt. Reader Mikey sent us links to the film's production site and its background page, which says, "As well as attracting top industry professionals, the film's important message caught the eye of Bestselling Author JK Rowling ('Harry Potter'), who was a key funder of the production."
The Express reports that the producer wrote to JKR after hearing she wanted to support and highlight women's issues.
