Brandenn Bremmer, 14, an American musical prodigy and Potter fan, apparently committed suicide last week in his home, The Telegraph reports.
Brandenn was playing the piano at 3 and was taking courses at Colorado State University at age 11. The boy genius had just finished a second CD of his own songs and was talking about becoming an anaesthesiologist. Brandenn was an organ donor; his liver went to a 22-month-old child, his heart to an 11-year-old boy and his kidneys to two different patients.

For his high school graduation picture, he “darkened his hair, wore round wire-rimmed spectacles and put on a red cape to look like his favourite character, Harry Potter.”

We urge our readers to remember that suicide is not glamorous, and almost 100 percent preventable. Normal people do it every day and it is never anything but a shame. If you or anyone you know might be considering suicide please take action. For statistical information on suicide, visit the CDC. The national suicide hotline in the US is 1-800-SUICIDE (thank you, Chris).
