Tonight perhaps you can, for at a charity ball in Scotland, film director David Yates will be auctioning off a walk-on role in the film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The Entrepreneurial Exchange charity ball, to be held at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel, is part of a huge fundraiser as part of the Make Poverty History campaign. Live 8 organizer Bob Geldof is to be guest of honour with Annie Lenox set to perform. Says the Daily Record:

Some of Scotland’s richest business people will bid tens of thousands of pounds in a charity auction.

Among the lots, film director David Yates will auction a walk-on part in the new Harry Potter movie.

The ball aims to raise £1million to help villages in Kenya and Scotland’s new ‘twin’ country Malawi escape grinding poverty.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is scheduled to begin filming in January, 2006.
