Amy let us know about the Astronomy for Wizards event at the The South Florida Science Museum on July 30 at 5 and 7 pm.
Audience members will be divided into houses and take turns winning house points with their knowledge of the wizarding world. Professor Pagan will teach you all about the various constellations, stars and formations and their connection to the Harry Potter books — as well as their history and mythology. You’ll learn all about the Black family names, spot Fawkes in the night sky and discover the origins of Fluffy. All this takes place under the dome of the planetarium, which has been bewitched to mirror the night sky. Extra credit will be given for students with knowledge of the Half-Blood Prince.

Although the museum is geared towards children, adults will enjoy this show as well – I know I’m going to try and make it. Last year every show sold out, so if you’re planning to attend, order your tickets in advance.
