We’ve had a few reports from fans who attended Jim Dale’s reading yesterday outside Atlanta, Georgia.
Quietus told us:
He told us the origins of quite a few characters voices: Hagrid was an uncle of his, Aunt Marge was an old World War II Colonel he met at a pub. Trelawney was a lady actress (who was âblind as a batâ and once confused garbage bags for him and his children during a screening of the dailys of a film he was making in Ireland).
Azagirl, who participated in Jim’s “How to be a Narrator” challenge, reports that Jim spoke about the book recording process, saying that if you turn away from the microphone even for a moment, you have to start over again.
