The BBC reports today that author J.K. Rowling is among the guests invited to a special celebration at Buckingham Palace in honor of the Queen’s 80th birthday to be held on June 25. This party in London, England will “feature a host of characters from Britain’s favourite children’s books” including such beloved creations like Paddington Bear, Mowgli from the Jungle Book, and of course that silly old bear, Winnie the Pooh. There is also a contest for tickets to this event where children between the ages of four and 14 can apply for one of 1,000 tickets they are giving away via this link on the CBBC Newround site. This contest is open until February 26. Good Luck! Thanks very much Wendy!
UPDATE: Jenna, from DanRadcliffe.com let us know that she spoke with one of Daniel’s reps, and said that his attendance at this event still has not yet been confirmed . There is a possible conflict due to his exams which are in June, but we will update with more as soon as we can. Thanks Jenna! Please note, Dan’s name has been removed from the BBC story now as well.
