These covers are better than the US ones even. I love them! There is so much detail and they are so colorful and artistic.

Avatar Image says:

That is SO beautiful! I can’t get enough of it.

Avatar Image says:

what’s up with the head where nagini’s head is supposed to be? that freaks me out.

apart from that, this cover art is amazing. so colourful and it looks very real, i like that!

Avatar Image says:

It’s nice but I have a couple issues:

1. Why do they seem to have reversed the hair colors for Ron and Hermione?

2. Why does Hermione look like Super Girl?

Avatar Image says:

It’s beautiful. It’s such a shame they used the actors for faces though. That’s so uncanon. But that’s okay… they made Dan’s face less square, Hermione’s hair less blonde, and Ron’s face less scared. Too bad Hermione still looks like GURLPOWAHH and straight haired. Oh well…

Avatar Image says:

This cover is AWESOME!!! I wish the US version would have gone into more detail like the other countries!!! But it is Beautiful! The detail is just breath taking!! = )

Avatar Image says:

WOW!

Avatar Image says:

It is the best cover art EVER!! ^^ Completely amazing!!

Avatar Image says:

WOAH! I’m shocked. (splutters) I love the style, but…it looks like they used Rupert’s face, and I love Rupert and all, but that’s just weird. There’s so much to take in; it’s gorgeous! I like it A LOT, but it isn’t cannon, and I’m all a tither. My Ukrainian friend will be incredibly pleased to hear about them totally pwning on the cover. gasp! They show Dobby! Geez…and Hermione’s hair isn’t red.

Avatar Image says:

Very nice artwork, although I don’t know if it’s a great idea to have a book cover that can actually double as a movie poster.

Great touch showing Ron carrying Hermione towards shell cottage. Who’s the one with the Hogwarts robes walking towards Harry, Luna? I always pictured shell cottage to be made of shells, I somehow never pictured it having a giant shell on the roof. The deatheaters (or maybe Moody) dropping from the sky in flames look very cool.

Avatar Image says:

The best cover art I have ever seen. Truley amazing.

Avatar Image says:

This really is spoiler filled. But I loved it. My heart stopped at the back cover and the shot of Harty hunching over Dobby.

Avatar Image says:

DAMN!!

Avatar Image says:

What a beautiful cover!! It makes the book look epic.

Avatar Image says:

Wow. this is AMAZING cover art… LOVE it. If I had seen it before reading the book it would have given me so much food for thought… AMAZING.

Avatar Image says:

Ha, ha. The polar opposite of the French cover. Both are great in their own way. Understatement versus overstatement. All Hermione needs is a cape and a great big S on her blouse!

Avatar Image says:

Wow, that is absolutely fantastic… I want a full poster size for my wall…

Avatar Image says:

I hate it! The design is too busy, the color scheme is lurid, and using the faces of the movie actors shows a real lack of imagination. I much prefer Mary GrandPre’s clean, elegant evocation of a single pivotal moment. (The French cover did that too, albeit with a somber rather than optimistic palette and mood.) Much better approach, IMO, than seeing how many spoilers you can stuff into 1 1/2 square feet of space.

Avatar Image says:

Yeah well, most people find the book cover of their own country the best. But I have got to admit that this looks very beautiful and spectaculer, if not a bit over the top. I actually like that the trio look like the actors, but on the hole, I do find the cover a bit to much. Like it’s fan-art.

Avatar Image says:

By the way, that head on nagini… It’s bathilda bagshot.

Avatar Image says:

I love it,details are incredible:battle of Hogwarts,all Horcruxes,two way mirror,Neville with the sorting hat,even book on Horcruxes… I don’t know if that’s bathilda’s head on nagini,but it’s the only thing I don’t like on the cover.And Nagini should be bigger in every way,but that’s not very important.

Avatar Image says:

I like the colors of the sky and sea and fire on the back cover. And I like Hermione’s boots. Shell cottage seems a bit too elaborate, but oh well.

And finally, I love how in Ukrainian he’s called “Garry Potter.” Just gives a whole different ring to the thing. ;)

Avatar Image says:

I really dont like it… My least favorite ofthe Ukranian covers. I agree with Mrs. McClaggan (“I hate it! The design is too busy, the color scheme is lurid, and using the faces of the movie actors shows a real lack of imagination. [...] Much better approach, IMO, than seeing how many spoilers you can stuff into 1 1/2 square feet of space.”) Yet I usually like the english and french covers best (children of course) but the last ones really disapointed me (the French one I don’t mind but a bit too… boring?). I don’t like any of the US covers, I just dont like her style… (specially the fourth one) The worst ones are, for sure, the German ones… This is isn’t a story for six year olds!

Avatar Image says:

Oohh now I like this. It is a bit over-the-top and overly detailed, but it makes me think of the cover art for a lot of other fantasy novels that are way over-the-top and dramatic. So I like it! The only thing I don’t like is blonde!Ron and redhead!Hermione. She might be a Weasley now, but not one by blood!

And that snake is just weird. I’m liking the fiendfyre (sp?) in the background though.

Avatar Image says:

I hope this cover comes with a sound damper, because it is very very loud, I thought the UK children’s edition was loud and vibrant, but this exceeds it. It is almost as if the illustrator was afraid to leave out one single event from the book and had to include all what happened in one picture. It becomes a hotchpotch of pictures without a single accent. They should have left it to Harry and the Snitch as at the spine. That it a very nice part completely lost in the noise.

Avatar Image says:

Wait, the publisher’s name is A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA?

Avatar Image says:

I always find the Ukrainian covers to be stunning…though it took me a few minutes to realize why there was a human head perched on Nagini :p

Avatar Image says:

However, Garry Potter by Dj K Roling sounds great!

Avatar Image says:

Yes, the publisher’s name is A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA, and official JKR site lists it: http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/en/links_publishers.cfm

P.S. Ukranian domain name is .ua, not .au (.au goes for Australia)

Avatar Image says:

Another wonderful Ukrainian cover! applauds

The artist for the Ukrainian covers has ALWAYS modelled the characters on the film actors—which is fine with me. At least they don’t copy the US or UK covers, which is what many of the foreign editions do.

Very spoilerific—but, again, this is something that is a bit of a tradition with the Ukrainian covers. Just as subtle and under-stated as the French cover is, this is the polar opposite! I love them both!

Avatar Image says:

Absolutely stunning artwork. I really should take up my grandmother’s offer to teach me Ukrainian just so I can justify buying yet another set of books!

Avatar Image says:

Laura and burningpumpkins: After all the “Gurlpowah supergirl Hermione isn´t very off is it? I mean isn´t that how Emma had been playing her since the third movie “Pink dressed girl Power-Ranger-Hermione” But besides that. The covers is STUNNING. Especially the back cover, with Harry kneeling in front af Dobby “sniffle”

Avatar Image says:

i’d like to see the cover in hi-res…

Avatar Image says:

Awesome!!! I love it – the best cover by far, in my opinion! And the only one in which the trio begin to look like capable, powerful adults instead of children. Fantastic! :)

Avatar Image says:

Phwoar. I love the detail—and the background for the final battle is a lot more canon than what Grande Pre offered up <_<, thank goodness. What’s going on with tha snake’s head, though? Alfonso Cuaron must have gotten hold of the art work before it was sent in. XD I too wish s/he hadn’t used the actors’ faces—especially since the movie will probably stray from the plotline of DH as much as any of the previous ones. :/

Avatar Image says:

The detail of the cover is good, but the trip look like they are 30. I prefer the U.S. cover and depiction of Harry.

Avatar Image says:

Sorry, type. Trip = Trio.

Avatar Image says:

Wow! This one is so cool!

Avatar Image says:

Ukrainian cover art is gorgeous! I love the HBP ones as well. I wish I could tell who all of the figures flying or fighting in the background were though.

Avatar Image says:

It’s so gorgeous, I love the Ukrainian covers…but WHY do they have to use the actors faces?!

Avatar Image says:

WOW. That looks absolutely amazing!

I love the detail adn everything, but I also think they’re giving away too much. (Look at Dobby’s dead body!!!)

Also, like other people said, the characters’ faces looked too uncannon.

However, I LOVED the detail and effort put into this cover art. Very well done!

Avatar Image says:

Wow! Thats amazing-I keep looking at it and discovering new things! Too bad I can’t Ukranien.

Avatar Image says:

I still like the us and uk (adult) better but this is the best foreign one i have seen.

Avatar Image says:

The colors are beautiful! However, I find it REALLY disturbing and unbelievable that the artist used the ACTOR’S faces! Come on! Let the book be the book! Also, like many, wondering about Hermione as Wonder Woman.

Avatar Image says:

this cover is AMAZING! my only thing is that i was sooo crazy about spoilers that if our cover had looked like this i would have flipped out because it gives too much information. But, um yea, wow. It is absolutely beautiful!

Avatar Image says:

wow! It’s like one huge spoiler!!

But totally awesome, all the same. I liked how they used the actors from the films as jumping off points for the character art. Very interesting. I dug it.

Avatar Image says:

wow! the cover is very good! but… it’s really obvious that the first three books came out before the movies, and you can see the 4th book cover it is un-mistakingly Dan’s face, which i personally find unimaginative. like they don’t want to see the movies and books as separate entities. they’re lovely all the same, i just think it’s funny :)

Avatar Image says:

Does anybody know how to get Greek translations? I have seen PS on Amazon, but none of the others. My brother has refused to read HP, but is now learning Greek and said he’d read them if they were in Greek. He’s difficult, I know.

Avatar Image says:

A complete opposite of the french cover. Highly detailed and spoilery. I like the looks and the visual but it really tells a lot. Why does the Publisher’s name sounds like someone’s laughing or trying to talk with a very hoy potato on their mouth?

Avatar Image says:

amazon and most places seem to have the ancient greek translation, but i don’t think that’s what you meant?

http://www.greekbooks.gr/web/main/results.aspx?title=harry%20potter

just half-assedly doing a google search. i’m assuming if you’re brother’s learning he has access to someone that can help him with reading the website.

but yeah, as for the art i like to keep the movie and book imagery as far from each other as possible. as far as noisy art goes i prefer the swedish, very grim.

Avatar Image says:

Y DID THEY JUST SHOW US THAT NOW…for some reason I remember seeing it b4 today!!!??....maybe im wrong…who knows…actually if u do please tell me…? :)

Avatar Image says:

I like the cover, except for “Super Herm” – and I wonder, if we hadn’t read the book, would we think they are spoilers? The picture of Dobby would have us wonder “Ooooh, somebody dies!!!” and the head on Nagini would make us wonder, perhaps, if Nagini is an animagi, and the scene with Hagrid and Harry on the motorcycle would just make us wonder what’s going on… It has great details, even if it is a little loud.

Avatar Image says:

I love it!

Avatar Image says:

This cover is simply wonderful!!!!! I love it! Does anyone know their translation of the title?

Avatar Image says:

Hmm…I have to agree with most of the bashers…It’s to action packed…I do, however, appreciate the interpretation of Shell Cottage! And why is Bathilda’s head on Nagini? If anything shouldn’t it have been the reverse? Maybe there was a typo in the manusrcipt that made it seem like bathilda’s head was coming out of Nagini’s…hahaha

Avatar Image says:

I am really partial to the U.S. versions and prefer them over most of the other covers, escpecially the UK versions; But this Ukrainian one is awesome! I love it! So detailed and cool. Is the crown Harry is holding suposed to be the Diadeim[sp]?

Avatar Image says:

Wow. O_O Did they try to put the whole book in?

Avatar Image says:

Wow…really cool! I thought Ron was Hermione and Hermione was Ginny for a second ther. So many details. Bathilda coming out of the snake is a little creepy, though. I love the battle in the sky!!!!

Avatar Image says:

WONDERFULL

Avatar Image says:

I think the cover is awesome. I spent like five minutes staring at it picking out little images from the book. It was like a Where’s Waldo picture. The head of the snake kind of threw me for a bit, but then I figured that it was because of Bathilda Bagshot.

Avatar Image says:

Wow…...

SO non-canon, where does one even begin?!?

Stunning though, I have to admit!

Avatar Image says:

good cover. the trio look almost like they just stepped off the DVD case of Goblet of Fire though. this is neither good nor bad. the detail is great, almost like the early Grand Pre covers with all the details that encompass the entire novel instead of just depiction gone small moment of the book

Avatar Image says:

Please tell me you can get a bigger version of this, Leaky. This is freaking gorgeous.

Avatar Image says:

When will this book be released? I finally found a website in English that sells the Urkainian version, but I can’t find the release date. This cover is amazing!

Avatar Image says:

I love how they’ve portrayed Shell Cottage, and I love how Ron’s holding the sword. Isn’t it funny how their Harry and Ron greatly resemble Dan and Rupert, but Hermione looks nothing like Emma?

Avatar Image says:

Our release date is September, 25. You can see one more interesting thing about our cover here: http://www.hpclub.com.ua/forumhp/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=5579

Avatar Image says:

It is so beautiful. If only we could have gotten that artist on our cover. Very dramatic!

Avatar Image says:

It is a nice cover—better than the French. I am just glad I read the book BEFORE I saw this cover. Can you imagine the podcasts and forums if we had this cover to disucss?!

TexasFan

Avatar Image says:

That’s absolutely gorgeous. But please, why do Harry and Ron have long hair?!?

Avatar Image says:

I think the cover is pretty good but I kind of agree with Jason, Harry Hermione, and Ron don’t look like kids. I like the part on harry and hagrid agianst the death eaters but some of the art on the front is confusing.

Avatar Image says:

... I think it’s kind of ugly? I guess I’m alone on this one.

Avatar Image says:

This is a wonderful cover! It definitely conveys the feeling and tone of the books so much better. Are all the Ukrainian covers this true to the HP spirit?

Avatar Image says:

Best covers yet!!!!

Avatar Image says:

Correction, this is the best one with the exception of Hermione (unless thats Ginny?) whos hair and face looks way off. If it is Ginny I don’t understand what would make her cover-worthy. I really dig harry’s look and I would LOVE it if Dan Radcliff sported it for the movie version of DH.

Avatar Image says:

I must say that is the best cover I’ve seen to date. It even trumps Ms. Grandpre’s and the artist who made the British cover. The detail is amazing. The scene of Harry mourning over Dobby actually mad me tear up a bit. I even like scene of Batilda Bagshot’s head on Nagini’s body…that’s a trip. As others have mentioned, the trio do seem a bit older on this cover. I’m guessing it’s to convey that they are no longer children, but adults…just my opinion. I love it!!

Avatar Image says:

I don’t see Neville and the sorting hat… someone said it was on the cover, but I must be missing it. Could someone give me a little direction?

Avatar Image says:

Horrible. Full of random spoilers, and what’s up with the characters looking like actors? And anyway, blonde Ron and redhead Hermione? Pompous and poorly constructed. And that purple robe? O.o

Avatar Image says:

Neville with the sorting hat is in the bottom right of the front cover. Can sbd tell me if that’s snape flying down from the window in the upper left part of the cover?

Avatar Image says:

Wow, that looks really amazing…A litte busy, but really detailed. The snakes head is wierding me out though… Gabrielle

Avatar Image says:

Correction,it is flying Snape but he’s at the bottom left, and Neville is right beside the bust of a wizard with a wig where the diadem was.See how far they went with the details?Even centaurs are there.Mind blowing and great.

Avatar Image says:

Correction,it is flying Snape but he’s at the bottom left, and Neville is right beside the bust of a wizard with a wig where the diadem was(on the right side).See how far they went with the details?Even centaurs are there.Mind blowing and great.

Avatar Image says:

Wow! I’d never seen the Ukranian cover art before. It is be-a-utiful! :D

Avatar Image says:

rose the translation is “Deathly relics” or it can be translated “Garry Potter and Deathly Hallows” but relics is what this cover says. I like Harry’s expression when he is holding the Snitch, so peacefull.

Avatar Image says:

wow Sajuka this is amazing! I wonder if it was done on purpose? really interesting. thank you for the link

Avatar Image says:

Absolutely Awesome. I am loving it to pieces! :D

Avatar Image says:

Awesome! A thousand times better than Mary GrandPre’s hideous attempts at art. They should use this for all the covers!

Harry Potter books in Modern Greek translation can be purchased from a number of vendors, including Amazon.uk. I have tried to post the URLs but for some reason they are not coming through.

Search on “Harry Potter kai” since those are the first three words of the titles.

Avatar Image says:

This one is COOL!!! I really love it. The snake is great!

Avatar Image says:

I’m sorry but I really don’t like it at all!!! First, it looks like they are Rupert, Dan and Emma, and as much as I love the movies… books and movie are two separate things… and they should keep it that way. And Second of all….. That cover is a spoiler for the entire book… They recreated almost every single scene!!! I really don’t like it! It’s too colorfull, busy and I dont like the style.

Avatar Image says:

oooo this one is nice!!! is it just me, or does harry look like dan from GoF? like a LOT like dan?

<<3padfootrocksmysocks

Avatar Image says:

I love the covers, but if there was something that could give away almost everyy chapter and death in the books…it would be this cover.

Avatar Image says:

That is so ridiculously cluttered and over-the-top, I find it to be relatively hideous. There’s just way too much going on. And WHAT THE HELL AT HOW RON LOOKS. That was really what put me over the edge.

Avatar Image says:

I’m back to say something more because there’s so much opinion about this book. I think the people who don’t like this cover are trying to percieve it too literally. Shell Cottage has a huge-ass shell on it’s top because it’s trying to SYMBOLIZE the name “shell cottage”. It’s true it shows too many spoilers, but they are all subtle or symbolic. Who the hell would know anything about a weird head on a snake? Who would know that that was dobby dying?

I still like this cover. It’s true it’s a little spoilerific, but it’s got lots of symbolism, and that could be the mark of a good artist. I still don’t like them using the movie actors, but whatever.

Avatar Image says:

In the first place congratulations by the beautiful Web that they have! I want to tell them that after long investigations I create to have discovered the spell to do horrocruxes! Contact with me, thanks please!

Avatar Image says:

This is by far the MOST AWESOME COVER I’ve seen in the whole series!!

The details are amazing and obviously couldn’t be this complete unless the artist had an intense involvement with and passion for the books.

You all may call them “spoilers,” but I consider them to be a visual summary of the story, not understandable unless and until you have read the book. I had a great time recognizing items and offer many thanks to those who posted and helped clarify. Hey, I just noticed the sword of Gryffindor in the frozen pond!!!

I especially love the spine where the resurrection stone is broken – WOW!!!!! That is so much more meaningful than the American cover with just an intact symbol.

I do agree that the depiction of Hermione is rather “over-the-top,” Supergirl boots, short skirt and all, but I could excuse the hair color as being the reflection of the fire. Too bad they didn’t use Emma as the model for her character as well; she’s quite a bit prettier than this picture.

I wish I could read Ukranian merely to justify buying a complete set of books only to have ALL these MARVELOUS covers!!!!

BRAVO!!!!!!!

Avatar Image says:

I LOVE the Ukranian covers!! They’re so beautifully detailed and better than many other countries in my opinion. I don’t see the big deal about the artist using the actor’s faces for the covers either. It doesn’t mean that they don’t have an “imagination” just because they didn’t make their “own” look. Lots of the covers do that and the characters still don’t look exactly how they’re described in the books. Whether you like it or not the actors are the faces of the characters now…no matter how “uncanon” they may be.

The only complaint I could understand is the random hair switch between Ron and Hermonine. However if you look at the scene with Dobby, Hermonine is in the background (I believe) and she looks a lot more canon; so I don’t know why there’s a difference. But aside from that minor factor I think the cover is gorgeous and the depictions of these key scenes is just stunning! There’s a lot of spoilers but if you never read the book you wouldn’t know what the hell was going on!

Avatar Image says:

I love it…I think that it’s awesome that there are so many covers for one set of books. So many opportunities for artists to interpret the characters and the story. Very spoiler filled indeed. I forget what the skull in the metal ball is…what’s that about? Anyhow, neat take on a cover.

Avatar Image says:

BTW, That’s really not at all how Hermione looks in the movies…hair color or not…and that’s really how I picture the other two when I’m reading. I’ve seen the movies too many times not to see them now when I am reading. (except Ron’s hair should be red)

Avatar Image says:

Now why dont we get art this good?

Avatar Image says:

It is fantastic! When I saw Hrry over Dobby I nearly came to tears. Nagini has a human head symbolizing she is a horcrux. I just wish the US cover is a beautiful I’d frame it and hang it over my fireplace. Your’s in everything Harry

Avatar Image says:

I really don’t like it… it’s too much… it seems to me that the artist didn’t know which part to illustrate, so he put a bit of everything in it… Nagini with this human head is absolutely terrible, and the three heroes look like too much their actors.

My favorite one is still the french cover.

Avatar Image says:

WOW!!!! i’m just speachless!!!! the detail is just amazing!!!!!!! the best cover i’ve seen so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) well done!!!

Avatar Image says:

The exact Ukrainian translation is “Harry Potter and Relics of Death”, there just couldn’t be more suitable translation.

Avatar Image says:

wow…you could basically know the entire story from just looking at that cover….so much detail

Avatar Image says:

Holly Epic. So Action packed its overwhelming in a great way. I want this as a Book Pster! Its not appropriate as a book cover I have to say. Come to think of it why are Book posters so rare – I’ve not really seen any apart from Tolkien fantasy posters. Surely Harry Potter books deserve their own Posters (not Movies). This Ukranian would make a brilliant one. The front Cover is baddass with Ron holding the sword and the 3 of them cornered into a fight back pose an the Back cover is awesome contrasting the sadness of the “seven Potter” aftermath and hagrid’s brilliant “Die Hard” action sequence. Phew, yeah I ahve to say Ukranian book covers ROCK!

Avatar Image says:

This is really awesome, I love the details they’ve put into it. I can’t understand why they’d actually use the actors faces, but shrugs and why is Hermione’s hair red??

Secondly – WOOT They remembered to make Harry’s hair long!!!!

Avatar Image says:

Was checking the other Ukranian covers and bloody hell (as ron would say), they dont half give just the plot away but the bloody ending too! Look at half blood prince back cover for example, Everyone weeping and watching the Pheonix fly away is pretty much saying “oy, guess what, Dumbledoor dies at the end”.

Avatar Image says:

It has a lot of detail…but it looks like a comic book! And Hermione’s shorts or skirt are barely there! She’s all about equal rights for all, and yet she’s being displayed as some sort of sex kitten? That got me annoyed…

But yeah. I don’t like it. It’s interesting to look at, because of all the stuff, but I’m SOOO glad I got Mary Grand Pre’s cover…

Avatar Image says:

I love the cover, especially the spine art. Thank you for that link from page 2. Do you think they will make a poster of the spine art from all the books? It is really beautiful.

Avatar Image says:

I love the illustration, and don’t forget that the artist is catering for the Ukranian people who may well have very different artistic tastes. I have enjoyed seeking out things I had missed, so now I have things to mention. I found the sword in the frozen pond but can you see Snape keeping a lookout behind the tree? The girl in the Shell Cottage scene is Luna, she was kidnapped from the train at Christmas and is still in uniform. The opened locket with the pair of eyes is half-way down Harry’s chest; Dumbledore/Aberforth is in a mirror on a stand bottom left of the front page, and there is a hippogriff near top left of the front page. I don’t like the depiction of the DH symbol on the spine, the stone from the river would have been a pebble if it was subsequently mounted in a ring, and there is no clarity in the three shapes. What really foxes me is the green leaf which I cannot identify, the closest is the oriental plane tree. Huh?

Avatar Image says:

I wish this cover(complete cover ) would have been on the US books.:( [I think Mary GrandPre’s covers are nice but this is SO much better] This is a fantastic cover, the best of the series. It just grabs you!!in so many ways.

Avatar Image says:

I really really like it but….Is there anything they DIDN’T include in the cover??? It’s great though!!!!! For me it’s a way to look back and see everything that happened in the book. I just think it would be better if the cover was a bit less yellow. I love Snape behind the tree!!! :P

Avatar Image says:

Wow!!! This is the best Harry Potter Cover that i’ve ever seen! There’s so much in there! AMAZING! just AMAZING!

Avatar Image says:

I have to say i like the ukrainin covers the best out of all of them. I have never like the Grandpre drawings- too cartoony. That dislike was aggravated when she said she was drawing herself.

Avatar Image says:

High-Res version of Ukrainian cover:

http://www.hpclub.com.ua/pictures/obkl3.jpg

Avatar Image says:

absolutly amazing and beautiful, and very eastern european cultural feel to the art. i love it. i wish they would do something like that with the lithuanian one instead of copying the american version all the time.

Avatar Image says:

The more I look at, the more I dislike it. It’s kitschy, too bright and gives away too much. OMG tasteles

Avatar Image says:

ohmydoublefreakinawd but this art is incredible! i LUV that tis the three of them there. i appreciate all the details they’ve put into the cover… but i think tis because i’ve read the book thrice (going to four) already… and know that the book is as action-packed as it looks. indeed, it gives a couple of (important) spoilers away. seeing the drawings beforehand loses most of the suspense as one might read the book the first time. but i still would like to have it as a floor-to-ceiling poster on my wall.

Avatar Image says:

meanwhile, tis now a wallpaper on my desktop.

Avatar Image says:

Yeah, our Ukrainian covers are the best!!! I saw that book today… it costs only 5 pounds!!!

Avatar Image says:

I really like this cover!! Just think about how Pottercast would have speculated on THIS cover if it had been before the release… that would have taken at least two shows. I love it… it really represents what the whole book is: a huge epic. I don’t really like that they used the actors faces either… but if you think about it it’s a really good marketing tactic. Dan, Rupert, and Emma’s faces are almost iconic for the HP industry now adays, so it would gain instant rcognition… not to mention stir up excitement for the next movies. All in all i think this is the best cover!

Avatar Image says:

You really can’t please everybody! So what if the trio look like the actors? The actors REALLY look like the characters in the books. And comments about Hermione’s look…So what if she’s wearing a short skirt, she’s a GIRL!The fact that we can see her legs doesn not mean she’s a sex symbol or something.

Avatar Image says:

There is way too much going on that cover. By far the worst…Its just too much..I really liked the spine and some other elements of the cover but it was overdone.

Avatar Image says:

It is awesome and beautiful! They are the best so far next to US and Britain. But I do agree, there are some goofy things like why is Ron’s hair blond, and Hermione’s red? But great job anyhow.

Uh…spoilers…?

US cover art’s still the best, although it’s a nice-looking cover.

I like that the trio look like the movie characters. They finally look like the young adults they are instead of kids. The character carring Griphook looks more like Bill than Dean. I too would like a poster of this. If you had not read the book, you wouldn’t understand what it all means. After reading, you will have a great visual representation of the book.

this is pretty cool, i love all of the details but – why the heck is hermione’s hair red??? what is with nagini’s head??? what is that skull in the ball thingy??? they look too much like the actors, especially harry. what is the building in the background on the back cover??? AND I think it gives away too many things. but other than that it is very aesthetically pleasing and i like it better than the U.S cover but not as much as the U.K cover because of the things i have mentioned above! if anyone can answer any of my questions that would be excellent!

I loooved the art cover! It’s so full of details and you need a lot of time to look at everything. I really liked Hermione’s bag, but I thought it would be smaller. I wish I had one like hers! I was looking at the other Ukrainian covers and I thought that little Norbert looked so cute on Sorcerer Stone! Check it out!

This cover is gorgeous. I saw that someone who posted found an English site that sells this version. I was wondering if maybe that could be posted somewhere? I would love to order a copy!

Украiньська!I think it is wonderful, but a bit overload.Well Done Ukraine!I’m really regret, that Russian version of Harry Potter books covers is American, but I enjoy American covers. They are so familliar for me…

I always look forward to the crowded & crammed phantasmagoria that are the Ukraine covers. In fact, I might say that they always turn out to be my favorites. It always looks like the promotional poster for some old tyme style Disney reworking of Norse mythology done in marsepan.

Well done again.

It’s as if they asked Salvador Dali to do the covers. I love it.

I hate it. The 7 of them. The style is so like out of The Watchtower magazine (too colourful, too cramped, too cheesy), and apart from the spoilers, the blatant use of the actors’ faces is soo cheap.

Awesome Cover! I too would like to get it in hi-res. But the scan is great.

I haven’t seen Snapes patronus on the back cover mentioned. I particularly like Harry on the spine. Getting ready to say “I am about to die.”

Only disappointment(s) are Shell Cottage as a mansion, and Nagini.

I also like the French understated cover.

Awww.. I just like Harry Potter stuff, period.
