It wouldn’t be too late for Sir Ian McKellen to step into the HP series though. He can play Grindelwald.

Oh my goodness. I don’t believe this. I think she is kidding with us. And if its true. I’m just glad he didn’t come onto to harry.

WHAT? I could care less if someone is gay (as I, myself, am gay), but I do have a problem with Dumbledore being gay, because she didn’t write the relationship between Grindelwald and Dumbledore that way at all. Either she decided that after the fact or she can’t write romance worth a darn. Pathetic Rowling, just pathetic.

Was this really necessary? I have no problem with gay people, but it just seems like something that was not important in the books and not important to mention now. There will be parents now who won’t want their kids reading the books because Dumbledore is gay, even though nothing of the sort is mentioned in the books.

Thrilled beyond measure.

I agree with what someone said earlier—this is even more awesome because it adds another layer to Dumbledore’s character, which is already so rich and complicated.

I hope he got over Grindlevald and fell in love again.

OHHH..i think i just died laughing. oh wow. i love jo so much, this is just perfect. but not really the stuff i was looking for. No offence to hannah, but i dont really understand the whold neville hannah thing. they never even really interacted in the books. i mean, come on. he so should have hooked up with luna.

I think this may also explain why Albus Dumbledore constantly turned down the job as Minister of Magic. There would have been a HUGE scandal at the Ministry if the wizarding community found out he was gay, and he would have been drummed out of the Ministry in very short order. It should be noted that Dumbledore kept that secret even from Harry, as noted by Dumbledore treating Harry like a regular father-son relationship.

That does explain a lot… she’s definitely got guts to tell the world, too. I don’t know why I didn’t see it coming, because there really were plenty of clues.

I am so excited and thrilled that Jo made Dumbledore gay. This just means she must be supportive of gay rights and I think that’s great because she’s such a huge figure in this world and maybe she’ll send a message to young children that gay is ok and that no one deserves to be treated badly or discriminated against.

I don’t think it would’ve fit in DH or any of the other books to put in that DD was gay. It wasn’t necessary to do so. I liked the way that she handed it by stating it after the books were written.

Calm down Elfster. Its her choice to say what she wants. If your cant grow up and except the fact that a grown man is happy being with another man, then you should step out of your imaginary world of perfect, and see reality. We all have a little gay in us, wither or not we want or choose to except that, its there!

I never thought of Dumbledore as gay, or straight for that matter. I kind of viewed him as asexual. like, he just…didn’t.
