Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has donated an entire set of the Harry Potter novels for a charity auction in order to help the National Braille Press. The complete set of hardback books published by Scholastic have been autographed by J.K. Rowling, and the books are now currently up for auction, with proceeds to help provide braille books for the blind. Bidding for this rare set of authentic autographed Harry Potter books runs now through October 25th, at which time the auction will then be featured at a special charity gala on October 26th from 7p.m. – 9 p.m. The gala held by the National Braille Press will be hosted by comedian Jay Leno. To bid, click here. Good luck!
Ha I am actually going to be volunteering at this fundraiser how funny. I went to NBD this summer and they were tellig us all about what they did for the 7th HP it was facinating. and everytime she would say the words harry potter I would do a little dance!! very cool!! I loved my tour of NBP and so gald that Jo decide to work wiht them.
WOW! What a wonderful way to bring
HP to life, for someone who might not be able to read the books!
Not the same, as “on tape”, folks!
Wish I could volunteer, but I will
bid! Is there a way to “donate” to
this???
No one can escape Harry Potter, not even the blind and deaf. Business is everything.
But in this case I think it´s ok, because the money might be used “intelligently”.
But why can´t they do it whitout a gala? Do all the donators have to stare admiringly at each other and confirm how good they are?
wow, s far only over 4,000! I thought it would be way higher! well, we’ll see I guess!
first :D
