Newsround Reviews the "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" DVD
OotP FilmCBBC Newsround has now posted their review of the of the Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixDVD. Presenter Lizo gave the latest DVD a 3 out of 5 rating, noting the best parts included "seeing some of the behind the scenes stuff in the Tonks feature. The long version of the scene where Umbridge inspects Professor Trelawney's Divination lesson is great. " He also lamented a few things, writing "OOTP is the longest story, and it would be nice to have a feature explaining how together the team behind the movie decided what should be cut out of the book. There's nothing from JK Rowling on here. Perhaps one day we'll get a DVD commentary from her (where as we watch the movie she talks about the scenes we're seeing). "
Also, as TLC has reported previously, those sneak peek clips of the upcoming "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" film are still not available via the link to the official UK Harry Potter website. Lizo reiterates what we reported previously that the " Half-Blood Prince sneak preview - it looks as if when you use the extras DVD in a PC, you'll be able to access an early look at the sixth film on the official website. But at the moment I can't seem to access this feature with my DVD - presumably because it won't be activated on the website until the DVD is available in the shops. "
The DVD is due on store shelves tomorrow in the United Kingdom. Thanks to the BBC!

someone please post the HBP sneak peak on youtube or leaky when it activates :)

Ok so you know the Half Blood Prince thing, do you get to see pictures or an actual clip?? And why doesn’t JK Rowling do the first BOOK COMMENTARY. They should put those on the audiobooks. after every page, she tells us about it… I would waste my life away listening to that

I guess there is no commentary on this DVD by anyone.

Um, no – as it hasn’t come out yet, it’s hard for anyone to review it, aye?
BUT… the REAL QUESTION of the HOUR is…
WHEN IS IT COMING OUT IN THE USA??
?!
Why doesn’t anyone know about this? Why hasn’t WB allowed the bookstores and sites to tell us in advance when we can expect to see it?
WHAT GIVES?
Me, myself and I want to know!

Omg, I can’t wait until tomorrow! OOTP’s my favourite HP movie so far, so I’m totally getting it. I wonder how long the HBP clips will be…
Lizo rules schools, pools, stools, and anything else ending in ools.
@Marcheline: I thought it was coming out in the US on December 11th or something…?

its out on December in the US, its all over leaky, where have you been

Beh… I didn’t expect much, but seeing that it’s Harry Potter… well it should’ve merited at least a 3.5?

So once again this DVD comes without an extended cut and without a decent commentary. SHOCKING. /sarcasm
They’ve obviously saving the good features for an eventual re-release of all 7 films. No other explanation is there?

I agree that it would be really nice to have DVD commentary from JK Rowling.
It would also be wonderful if they had done the Harry Potter movies like they did the Lord of the Ring movies, where the abbreviated version was in the theaters but the DVD contained a lengthened version, which included more of the book.

Can I ask one thing? Why is the image for an article about the OoTP dvd, a screencap from GoF?

Tempest in a teapot. About the only thing I, for one, ever enjoy on the added features is an interview with the cast. A lot of the extra material, to be honest, can sometimes be a little fluffy and inconsequential.

Mabe what Marcheline is asking is becasue Amazon and many other web stores have not put it up for pre order yet and Amazon still has not put up the release date. Amazon still has a note saying to sign up for relase date info. You would think Amazon would have the pre order up by now.
I did notice Wal-mart has finally set up so you can pre order through them but they just did that with in this week.
I just think it is odd that the pre order time for this film has been so short. I pre ordered Shrek about four months ago.

America will get different features when it’s DVD is released a month from now, so let’s not count out commentary yet…

Lizo is awesome. He really is. It’s awesome that we’ve got a review from an actual fan, instead of some idiot who’s got no clue what they’re going on about as usual.

I am sure we all agree with you. It is such an obvious thing to do but WHY -oh WHY -is it not happening ?
The Lord of the Rings DVDs were made with so much love and thought -and they were extremely profitable.
Do Warners really care enough ? Why does the whole DVD project seem so lucklustre compared to the L of the R ?

By the way -I ‘m sure its not just me that thinks that “Deathly Hallows” should be two films -ala the Lord of The Rings. That way -you could get so much more into the films.
But -no -they really do not seem to care at all…......

Making DH 2 films would be horrible. It would completely break the momentum of the story.

I don’t think Hallows should be two films just for the sake of throwing in as much as possible, I’m more concerned about quality than quantity which is something I think Order of the Phoenix nailed. I do think Hallows should be a LONGER movie than the others though, maybe by 15-20 minutes or so. I really think too many fans care too much about how much material from the books they can cram in, rather than how good the movie actually is.
