Lizo is awesome. He really is. It’s awesome that we’ve got a review from an actual fan, instead of some idiot who’s got no clue what they’re going on about as usual.

I agree that it would be really nice to have DVD commentary from JK Rowling.

It would also be wonderful if they had done the Harry Potter movies like they did the Lord of the Ring movies, where the abbreviated version was in the theaters but the DVD contained a lengthened version, which included more of the book.

I am sure we all agree with you. It is such an obvious thing to do but WHY -oh WHY -is it not happening ?

The Lord of the Rings DVDs were made with so much love and thought -and they were extremely profitable.

Do Warners really care enough ? Why does the whole DVD project seem so lucklustre compared to the L of the R ?

By the way -I ‘m sure its not just me that thinks that “Deathly Hallows” should be two films -ala the Lord of The Rings. That way -you could get so much more into the films.

But -no -they really do not seem to care at all…......

Making DH 2 films would be horrible. It would completely break the momentum of the story.

I don’t think Hallows should be two films just for the sake of throwing in as much as possible, I’m more concerned about quality than quantity which is something I think Order of the Phoenix nailed. I do think Hallows should be a LONGER movie than the others though, maybe by 15-20 minutes or so. I really think too many fans care too much about how much material from the books they can cram in, rather than how good the movie actually is.

I have a gut feeling that all the really good stuff (commentaries, behind the scenes, and deleted scenes) are all saved for the re-release of a crazy box set edition of all 7 movies onces DH comes out. I’m sure that would be sold for a rediculous amount of $$ but no doubt the film fans would save their allowances and paychecks for lol WB are a bunch of gits I tell you!

Has anyone found a store that is preordering OotP in the States? I was just searching,Target, Best Buy, Amazon etc. and nothing! You’d think for the holidays they’d be pushing that baby all over the place (as they do with everything else in this country lol). If anyone has found somewhere that is taking pre-orders, I will love you forever if you’d kindly share :) Thanks!

I have the feeling WB is planning to release a new version of the DVDs when all the movies are finished, containing (hopefully) a movie commentary, with the directors and maybe Dan too. Talking about Dan, you can see his new movie on ITV1… right now! So, I’ll read this review later.

They said that the there is a range of deleted scenes I hope we are all wrong by thinking that the Snapes worst memory scene and the dueling scene between Bellatrix and Sirius is not in there they just have to give it to us dont you think it might be one of those full scenes they mentioned? what are your thoughts – its driving me crazy I wanted to see Sirius fight Bella not that stupid death eater and Lucius!

So far the only thing that is available for pre-order is the Years 1-5 collection edition at Best Buy

To those experiencing preorder problems, it must be an issue with the US distributor of the DVD. Here in the UK, all our major online retailers (including Amazon’s UK site) have been taking preorders on this for months.

@Imhermione1027(and anyone else) Check out Yahoo!Movies. They list three merchants (including themselves) Family Video, Tower.com and Yahoo!Movies. If you go on Yahoo!Movies: hit DVD/VIDEO.Type in ‘Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix’. When you get THERE, look at ‘DVD Info’ (where the ‘Cast, credits, etc’ is). THAT will take you to the information. Choose the version you want (there is a box, at the top) You will see the prices for each edition. The release date is on: 12/11/2007. They are ALL available for Pre Order NOW! Go for it!

Walmart just started taking pre orders.

They have a different oprtion the the many we saw here on Leaky. Walmart has one that is labeled exclusive in its discribtion but it does not say what is on the DVDs.I wonder what is on it that would be just for walmart or is it just labeled weird? I think I will give up pre ordering and go see what this exclusive thing on the day the DVD comes out.
