CBBC Newsround has a follow up on the news from yesterday regarding the actress to play Lavender Brown in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Readers will remember Rupert Grint mentioned a girl named Jessie for the part; her full name is now confirmed to be Jessie Cave, and you can see a photo of her via this link to Newsround. The article notes Ms. Cave “is 20 years old. Your first chance to see Jessie on screen though will be in CBBC drama Summerhill going out early next year. She’s perfect! And quite beautiful…she’s the Lavender I pictured in my head. Just not as wide-eyed.
She’s quite pretty and it should be funny to see Hermione fuming with jealousy as Won-Won and Lav-Lav role about like a pair of eels playing sucky-face. My only complaint is that Lavender in previous films was black.
WOw, I can’t believe the people who were posting Jessie Cave a few days ago were right! How did people know this was the Jessie Rupert was talking to before this Newsround article? Psychic. Anyways, she’s really pretty. I always pictured Lavender as white, so… I konw she’s not a dead ringer for Emma Watson, but i thought they’d go with someone who looked completely different from her. I guess they want her to be similar looking as hermione so we know why ron goes after her (not that that’s the only reason.) I’m jealous of this girl already.
Lauren, you made a good point. Hermione and Lavender should look a little similar because Ron actually really wants to be with Hermione and Lavender is just a temporary thing.
I hope her voice is as I imagined it as well. It certainly cannot be deep in anyway.
