There is new footage from the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film included on the US Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix DVD. Readers will recall that when the UK saw the release last month, there were two special sneak peeks at the sixth Harry Potter film included via the DVD; today there is new video with the sneak peek, including some fantastic shots of Draco (Tom Felton) cursing Harry on the train, and Harry and Ginny, the interior of Slughorn’s home, and even dialog between Professor Dumbledore and Harry discussing Horcruxes (yes really!). Also new are various interviews conducted recently at the DVD launch in London, England, including new quotes from actress Emma Watson (Hermione), Matt Lewis (Neville), Rupert Grint (Ron) a hilarious quote from Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) discussing the Ron/Lavender snogging scenes, as well as quotes from producer David Heyman and HBP director David Yates. To watch (SPOILERS AHOY) click here via our galleries.

Many thanks lark and flaquita

No offence but Harry and ginny look like crap together. I can’t see harry dumping Cho for that. Honestly after seeing this, I don’t want to see anymore Harry and Ginny. No chemistry.

Sticks: You can tell they have no chemistry from a blurry camera shot of a tv with text all over it, a glare, and zero dialogue?

Doubt that.

The digital version doesn’t work for iPod? How stupid, it’s one of the most popular portable video players! I’ve always thought it was silly to have to pay for a movie twice if you wanted a DVD and a digital copy, so I was really excited when I heard the DVD was going to include a copy. Sad panda :(

Bonnie has one of the worst side profiles I’ve ever scene and it does look like they are trying to hide that with the darker room but still I can see that nose and jawline anywhere. Not going to be good. Only good thing seems to be Rupert is getting more time. His romance scenes will be funny. Even Dan is talking abou it.

I just saw the videos now…and I love them!! What a great idea!! And for anyone who hasn’t bought the DVD yet, Target is selling a deluxe edition which includes a 3-D cover and a bonus DVD with behind the scenes footage of the Harry Potter sets!!...it’s great! About 20 minutes of bonus footage! Just wanted to let everyone know. :)

Poor, pitiful Sticks. If you dont like Harry and Ginny together fine, but dont harp on Bonnie’s looks. She is very attractive, no one can argue that. I am curious, you willing to share a pic of your profile with us?

Alisn, I bought the one from Target also. The cover is amazing. I saw it in Sundays paper but when I saw it in person I was amazed how it changes from Harry and his gang to Voldy and his gang. I have not watched the third disk yet but I am going to go now and put it on.

If Ms. Leung is shooting in January, and if that is when Jim Broadbent is doing his scenes, then it will probably be at Slughorn’s party. Maybe Sluggy saw some glimmer of potential in Cho…

All the talk about Ron-Lavender makes me wonder if they’ve replaced Katie Bell (a totally disposable character) with Lavender Brown, to give her a bigger part and add to the drama. I know I would.

But if they cut Scrimgeour then it shows for sure that the filmmakers aren’t interested in JK’s vision of a world in crisis, and have gone back to the Chris Columbus factory line of sugar-coated product for fangirls and fanboys. (Actually, OoTP almost made me miss Chris Columbus. At least he was using real composers and visual FX people!)

Looks like jealousy is rearing it’s ugly head once again. Bonnie IS a pretty girl and it’s sad that she is getting attacked by bitter people who want to be in her place. The same thing happened to Katie Leung and it’s so dumb. These girls are just doing their jobs and don’t deserve half the petty and vile comments made about their looks!

Face it, Bonnie is part of a billion dollar franchise and she’s playing the hero’s love interest. If the studio didn’t think her looks were up to par you can damn well be assured she wouldn’t be there.

I second what Lark said. If Yates or ANYONE high in power on the crew for that matter thought that Bonnie was the least bit ugly or that she wasn’t “pretty enough” to play Ginny she’d be gone in a New York minute. But seeing as she isn’t gone yet, then she’s obviously up to par.

Bonnie is gorgeous! And so what if she has flaws in her appearance, don’t we all, in one way or another?!

Sorry, haters just bug me. It’s not like you can’t have opinions but having to deal with negative nellies like this is annoying! All of the kids in the HP cast are beautiful and talented. They don’t deserve to be put down like this.

When I read HBP I kept thinking ‘there’s no way they’ll have all these Pensieve scenes in the movie’ most notably the Gaunts one and the scene with young Riddle visiting Hepzibah Smith (or whatever her name is!). For the movies they need to get down to the basics, cut out a lot of the backstory and specifics of the Horcruxes. If they couldn’t even include the full Prophecy in Ootp then…

As for Harry/Ginny, I’m glad they’ve done this little moment where they nearly kiss because in the book it IS insane that he just dives on her after the Quidditch match even though she hasn’t really shown any interest in him (since she was like 12 at least!).

I doubt they'll have much of Harry obsessing over her, the beast in his chest or whatever. Much better to show it onscreen in this way. (I don't care what anyone says, Jo has never been great at the romance stuff shock horror at Jo criticism! I mean, Hermione and Ron first kiss and it's like a comedy moment! And they won't be doing THAT in the movie because she only kisses him over him feeling sympathy for house-elves - which don't appear in the movies! I'm sure they'll do the birds thing in HBP though)

I bet they cut Felix Felicis too.

i hope in the funeral scene that everyone( rita skeeter, umbridge, fleur, madame maxime, etc) would be in HBP. i haven’t heard whether this would happen or not. i’m surprise the director didn’t annouce this yet. I hope they would try and reunite them( like the book did) in the funeral scene because it’s probably the last Harry potter film that some might be in( especially madame maxime). Does anyone else agree with me on this? Is there a way for warner bros. to see this note?

Performingmonkey: I’m a huge Hermione/Ron fan and the fact that their kiss was a comedic moment was perfect to me. I would not have it any other way. That’s honestly how I wanted it. It fits them as characters. So to see that said as if it’s a bad thing and as evidence that Jo can’t write romance is a bit strange to me. RHr has always had a quirky humor angle to it and most fans will tell you that’s one of the reasons they love it so much.

They will kiss in the DH movie, I’m sure of that. The powers that be are big fans of their relationship and there’s just no way it won’t happen. Circumstances might be different though.

can we please have some clarification on this whole US/Europe DVD issue. I live in the UK and to frankly say the extras we got were rubbish is an understatement. Am i right in thinking theUKk version of the HD/Blueray will have more extras? If so can you play those on an ordinary DVD player? Does the US ordinary DVD have more extras than the UK/world ordinary DVD or again do the US fans have to buy the HD/Blueray edition, and if that is the case can we get an explaination from WB for these differences, because some sets of fans have been short changed. and this will surley backlash on future DVD sales!
