I understand it’s not realistic (and it’s amazing how realistic the whole crazy story is) but I would’ve liked to have thought that Harry would’ve been able to enjoy one nice quiet year at Hogwarts. At least Hermione got to.

Yeah, you have to imagine that one of Hermione’s letters would have been, “Hey, it’s May and there’s no one to fight…this is weird….”
What I wonder about is what was the status of Hermione and Ron’s relationship over that year or so? Did they go straight to engaged, or did they take a few years? I wonder.
:) Jo did an intro!! Haha! I was dancing with excitement across my living room when I heard her voice :)
And how heartwarming is it that she for-real named Dawlish after John? After being with PotterCast since Episode #1, I feel that she just paid homage to the entire PC fandom with that gesture.
Melissa-That’s hilarious. I wonder if she (and the rest of them) was a little shell shocked for that last year. That would’ve been especially funny to see Hermione all madeyed out (and as head girl no less as I’m sure she was) accidentally jinxing innocent 1sties, carrying around a flask, and ambushing house elves in dark corridors with hats and socks; especially as May came around. Maybe the rest of them should’ve taken that last year at Hogwarts too before going off to the ministry.
Grace-Knowing Ron & Hermione there was probably a disastrous on-again-off-again long distance thing that people tend to do sometimes. At least we know they all ended up all right.

Oh my gosh, that was so awesome! I loved that opening bit they did! Very, very clever! I was laughing so hard. And oh man, wasn’t it great to hear Jo laugh like that when John mentioned Madam Hooch? Yay!
sorry, to cool you a bit guys, but haven´t you realized how melissa tried to out Jo for stealing ideas from fans and always pointed out the huge mistakes. Her last comment about John always being right didn´t it feel like she was about to say Jo you have no idea about the backstory you just use John´s ideas?
The Question about Hannah was a wonderful trap. Loved how she outed jo as absolute clueless about her own books. There was not a bit of humour in her voice. Guess Melissa has seen Jo mess up to often.
The remark about decisions in Jo´s random world was no joke, guys. Melissa is frustrated and right she is.
I am not nor have I been frustrated, nor was I about to say anything close to Jo using John’s ideas. The idea of Jo contradicting herself in canon and interviews is interesting, and relevant, and not seen as high treason by we or her. She likes being trapped like that, being put to the test by people who know her books well – she loves when people are aborbed in it, love it, the way we do.
NO ONE knows more about Jo’s books than Jo. But she is a writer, and what she ends up putting to the page in the actual printed books can change at any time – whether from an old notebook or from the page previous. She has a right to do that. But we wouldn’t be the kinds of fans we are, if we didn’t notice those little inconsistencies and ask her about them. That’s just FUN. And she knows that, and revels in it, too.
Jo’s ideas are her own; and John would be the first to say there’s no way she’s using his ideas. It’s that there are places they both agree that would be nice things to do, that’s all – like the boats. She probably hasn’t worked out the actual rituals, and thought, oh, wow, what a nice idea. And it’s still her right to use it if she wanted to.
So please, please, don’t put words or ideas or thoughts into my mouth or head – I was not in the LEAST bit frustrated, only loving the chance to get some details put right because we love doing that, as fans.
posting once again-i really loved listening to this interview, particuraly because, unlike with “official” news\talk show type interviews it sounded like we were just listening in on a converation of some friends over a cup of coffee. that’s what really (besides the fact that i just LOVE pottercast) makes it stand out for me. also, i absolutely loved the way john and jo kept up the steady stream of jokes! and i’m also going to state-i truly almost cryed when jo first came on and did the intro. LOVED it!!!
Oddly enough, Secunda, I didn’t see a scrap of evidence towards that theory. Melissa just defended everyone involved, and said it perfectly, so I won’t make myself sound stupid by commenting on your comment too much after she did it so well. Just saying…You’re wrong. Sorry, but ya are.
Okay, only one disappointment.
I understand it’s not realistic (and it’s amazing how realistic the whole crazy story is) but I would’ve liked to have thought that Harry would’ve been able to enjoy one nice quiet year at Hogwarts. At least Hermione got to.
