JKRowling.com’s secret “Room of Requirement” door (accessed by clicking the eraser on her main desk and then clicking the handle on the door) is now open, revealing the map of the future generations of Harry Potter characters. Jo Rowling drew this chart while being filmed for the documentary, “JK Rowling, A Year in the Life,” which will air on British ITV tomorrow evening.

“Lorcan” was the first name of WOtM in Nov. 2006. Who would’ve thought Luna would name a kid after a vampire rocker?

Lily Potter88, yes it is! Except there’s an extra bit for Draco (marries Astoria Greengrass, son’s name is Scorpius Hyperion. Poor kid.)

For those asking about Malfoy’s kid, look at star constellations. The whole Black/Malfoy family has mostly names of major stars and star systems

Has anyone else noticed that the time-turner is sitting on the floor in the room of requirements now? I turned the handle, the date changed and I was sent back in time to a previous time when the door opened with a different clue from the past. I was able to change the time many times and got to check out all the past room of requirement puzzles and games and clues that JKR has given us through the years.

She went with Fred.

Oh I should have said that after you change the time, you have to click on the small hourglass and wait for the lightning outside to end.

I am so glad that poor little Scorpius’ mother was not Pansy Parkinson. I wonder if she ditched Draco once his Dad lost power or if Draco dumped her.

Did anyone get a screen cap of it? The door was already locked by the time I got there. Bugger! If you did, please send it to me. lyonnblue@aol.com

OMG thats so great!!! i’m using it as my Desktop background now so i can always stare at their names and memorise the entire family tree!!! Scorpius Hyperion?! Thats a strange name. Love everything about the family tree. Wonder who Audrey is… Astoria Greengrass is Daphne Greengrass’ younger sister…so Audrey MIGHT be mentioned somewhere in the books…Looks like Penelope Clearwater got dumped =P Love Harry and Ginny’s kid’s names. Such a fitting tribute to James and Sirius. And Luna and Snape and Dumbldore. Too bad they never put Neville in any of the names. But i suppose ‘Lily Neville Potter’ would sound weird…. -Potty

I love all the names. Poor Scorpius, what a name. I don’t agree that Luna’s older child’s name is Lorcan. It looks more like Lorean to me. I really think thats an ‘e’ not a ‘c’. However, with JKR’s handwriting, there is no telling really.

Kay – if you go to mugglenet and zoom in on the scan they posted, you can clearly see it is Lorcan, no “e.” =)

Isn’t Daphne from Scooby-Doo? Maybe she’s a witch? lol No way! Maybe she’s not in the books…..and she’s a figment of JKR’s imagination. So the moral of the story is: When in Edinborough at a coffeeshop, do not disturb the 40-year-old blond goddess who is writing.
