Abe Books Auctions Signed "Deathly Hallows" for Charity
CharityAbe books will be auctioning off a special signed copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for charity. The bookseller obtained an autographed copy of book seven when they attended the Open Book Tour in Toronto, Canada, and have put the book up for auction with proceeds to benefit the United Way's Project Literacy in Victoria, British Columbia. With the auction due to start this Thursday, December 6 and run through December 11, included in the lot will be the autographed Children's edition of the book from Raincoast publishers, as well as a ticket to the Toronto event, a set of Harry Potter stickers, a bookmark commemorating the event on October 23, a Harry Potter door hanger, and a Harry Potter poster. A signed copy sold for $950 off eBay to a Toronto bidder. The copy had been signed at the Toronto reading and was auctioned to support a public library. Rumour has it that the edition was the British edition with a Canadian dust jacket. So, may have been worth even more.
