Yesterday, we first told you about a clip of the Occlumency scene from OotP with Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) and Harry (Dan Radcliffe) appearing on syndicated entertainment program “The Insider.” This segment is now online via you-tube, and in this report, you can also see portions of scenes with Umbridge (Imelda Staunton), and the DA in the Forbidden Forest. To watch, click here (spoilers).

Thanks musings!

They are dubbed in German, though.

Could it be any more obvious that the reporter never read a Harry Potter book in her life?

“Stabbing him”? What do you think that is in her hand, a bloody kitchen knife?!

And Harry’s feelings for Luna are probably closer to morbid curiosity than romantic attraction, duh.

“What if I’m turning bad?” ...

...

Slow day at the writer’s office, guys?

Other than that, bravo.

Besides the fact that the host has a Potter IQ of 0, I think the clip is good! Occulmency looks great! I am also getting more and more excited for Imelda Staunton and Umbridge!

it was cooooooooooool!!!!!!alan rickman was AWESOME….. and what was that rubbish about luna and harry???it was so stupid…....

Great images but what a silly commentary!

Avatar Image says:

ugh… what is all of that rubbish regarding cho and luna fighting for harry’s heart? Seriously. That’s possibly one of the most ridiculous things i’ve ever heard.

Now. The Occlumency scene on the other hand, was amazing. I thought it was absolutely brilliant how they did that. I just about had a heart attack from happiness. I know the other movie scenes are out there… i’m happy just seeing the occlumency scene, i don’t want to see the others right now. That’s almost too much for me.

Avatar Image says:

She should have had a neon sign on her head that screamed “harry potter IQ <0" STABBING HIM? HARRY/LUNA? Wow, and the freakin puns almost had me slamming my head into a wall. Welp, great clips though, even though she ran her mouth through the whole thing

Avatar Image says:

I love the clip with the Occlumency scene, Daniel and Alan are great. And I really like the way David Yates has shoot the scene, with the quick flashbacks, just like the book.

But I wish people talking about HP in those tv shows would have at least a little idea what they are talking about!!! People who saw the pre-screening in Chicago said there are several hints to Harry/Ginny future relationship, they could have mention that in the report instead of inventing things…

Avatar Image says:

...this movie looks sort of creepy. And, y’know what? I think that’s a good thing. Images can’t always be shown from inside one’s head in a movie (if my 3k of scriptfrenzy has taught me anything so far aside from do it when there’s more than a week left in the month—it has to be that) and the way they’ve done it… I love it.

Although, er… I didn’t hear a word of it. I’m listening to music and can’t be bothered to actually hear what they’re saying there.

I just hope I actually get to see the movie, y’know?

Avatar Image says:

The oclumensy scene had nothing to do with the oclumensy scene in the books…this movies get worse and worse.

Avatar Image says:

I thought that the occlumency scenes seemed exactly as they should be. Snape flashing through Harries memories, just like in the book. The only thing different is that I thought Harry was standing in the books, and he seems to be sitting down in the movie. That’s not too big of a deal for me, though.

And what is up with that Insider reporter? People really should do background research on their subject before they go reporting on it, if for nothing but to keep themselves from looking like complete idiots when their lips are flapping away.

Avatar Image says:

Harry looked seriously freaked out and confused in that occulmency scene. It’s looking good :)

Avatar Image says:

The Occlumency scene was ok. I guess it would’ve been better if Harry were standing with his wand out ready to break Legilimency like in the book; him just sitting there didn’t look right. Maybe he gets to use his wand later. And what’s with that memory of Hermione hugging Harry…

Avatar Image says:

Huh? Luna fighting for Harry’s heart? Has she ever read the book? Really now…get somebody who knows what they are talking about!Umbridge stabbing Harry and Hermione? They carry around wands not knives or swords! Other than that, I really love the Harry Snape scene and I love the flashing of memories.

Avatar Image says:

Stabbing? Harry/Luna? Wow this reporter doesn’t know anything about the story!

Avatar Image says:

Well, the reporter is a total idiot who has no idea what she’s talking about, but Alan Rickman and Imelda Staunton are greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat :)

Avatar Image says:

To Ginger – I think the memory of Hermione hugging Harry comes from GOF, when she hugged him in the tent around the first challenge. Rita Skeeter saw it and made Hermione out to be Harry’s love interest in the Daily Prophet. That makes sense, since Snape is travelling through Harry’s memories from a very young age up to the present.

Avatar Image says:

Ginger, it’s a scene from the book, when she sees Harry for the first time after the summer.

Harry is sitting because he has just suffered a big commotion (I’ve read all the spoliers about this movie lol) he has just had the vision with Arthur’s attrack. I liked it because both actors, Radcliffe and Rickman are very good, and I like how Yates did it exactly like the book says with the flashbacks.

You shouldn’t worry, there is another Occlumency scene in the movie where Harry kicks Snape’s ass, breaking into his mind. :)

If you are worried because his position, you will die to know there are characters which not only their position is wrong, they are in places they are not even supposed to be, like Ron seeing Grawp, which is absolutely uncanon.

Avatar Image says:

The movies are not the books and vice versa. So don’t go complaining that they changed the story. OOTP is almost 900 pages long – it’s a great book and my favorite so far. Consider that the audio book takes 27 hours to listen to the monumental task of turning it in to a 2-1/2 movie requires compromises to compress the story. In GOF, Dobby is not even there. His job of helping Harry with the second task went to Neville. Dobby is missing again in OOTP, but Kreacher is in the movie – because Jo said it would be important later. That’s how it works. If you don’t like the treatment that the book gets in the movie, don’t go see it. I like them both as related, but stand-alone entities.

Avatar Image says:

I’m not the one complaining lol I’m the one saying it’s senseless to complain about small details when they have made much bigger changes.

Avatar Image says:

so cool. The Occlumency lesson with Snape was awesome! :]

Avatar Image says:

hahahaha stabbing. that woman gives a bad name to us blondes.

Avatar Image says:

“Will Professor Umbridge stop short of stabbing Harry and Hermione?” “Will Luna challenge Cho Chang for Harry’s heart?” WTH? Lol. You’d think they could at least get their facts straight…

Avatar Image says:

What really irks me about the complete BS that that woman was spewing is that now someone who hasn’t read the books will think that those are actual parts of the plot line of OotP – which of course they aren’t. Luna’s character isn’t meant to be competition to Cho, and I don’t know if that woman ever even saw one of the movies, but wizards don’t have to stab. DUH.

Avatar Image says:

I glad that there are reporters and writers out there that can understand novels like Harry Potter and portray them as they are. I thought FOR SURE they would leave out the stabbing, and I wasn’t too sure about WB putting in Harry and Luna’s hidden romance.

Bravo, Insider! Bravo! (/sarcasm)

The Occlumency scene looks great! I’m excited for Snape’s memories!

Avatar Image says:

I can’t view this video on YouTube! :( Can someone please email me a different link or the video if they have it? [email protected]

Thanks!

Avatar Image says:

The clip was good but only if you left the volume muted. The commentary was ghastly and clearly written by someone who hasn’t the first clue about what’s in the books.

Avatar Image says:

I LOVE this. That Occlumency looks AWESOME. Once again Alan Rickman is FABULOUS as Snape. As I’ve said before, he makes his scenes come alive and jump out at you. Dan as Harry also looks like he’s genuinely scared. Though why he isn’t standing, I don’t know. Though he is in a later scene. The other scene I love was when that Toad Umbrdige said “You know, I really HATE Children”. Plus she does say “For the greater good, I’m going to do what must be done”. She does look threatening like she might hex them. Who is that speaking? Is it Gwarp. I don’t watch “The Insider” but isn’t it along the lines of “Inside Edition”. At any rate, that lady makes it sound like there will be a Cat Fight between Cho Chang and Luna Lovegood. At any rate her report(voice over) is kind of cutesy. Plus, they do have to hype up the movies to encourage everyone to go. Plus, if she had gone at it in a more serious manner it would probably appeal to a more mature audience and less to the younger kids. So they do have to make it look like two girls will “fight for Harry” as nauseating as it sounds to us Potter fans. I do agree her report was nauseating.

Avatar Image says:

Ditto your comments, Lauren.

Yates is brilliant and “Insider” is pathetic…..

Avatar Image says:

Looks like all the makers of the film really stepped it up on this one. I am so excited. The other movies were well done, but this one seems to really keep with the mood of the book. I was afraid they were going to dumb it down a lot, for the younger audiences, but it doesn’t look like they did. Hoorah! Also, does anyone think they can make the sixth movie (US) PG-13? I feel like they would have to leave out just about everythng to not make it R with all the violence and stuff. Hmm. Just a thought.

Avatar Image says:

I agree as well. These idiotic reporters who never know anything about the books, love to pretend they are telling us something we don’t know. And it is never right anyway! They need to get real HP fans to report, and tell it like it really is. Enough poop already! And it’s not just for pre-teens. SHeesh!!! Other than that, I loved the Occlumency scenes! Wow, going to be great! Hey, I just bought the HP 5 game today. Gonna go play it..let you know how it is. :)

Avatar Image says:

yeah Harry standing/sitting is quite minor I see now. I’ll reserve further judgement till I’ve seen the whole movie a couple times ;)

Avatar Image says:

u can tell the presenter is a big HP fan…NOT!!!! wat was with da stabbing thing? and the Harry/Luna/Cho thing was well random apart from dat the occlumency secene looks cool _

Avatar Image says:

Perhaps the stabbing thing wasn’t a literal stab, as one would do with a knife, but rather a figure of speech. For example, if one is trying something new, one would be “taking a stab at it.” I dunno. Just a thought! haha But I do agree, that woman is an Harry Potter idiot for sure. haha At least we all got a good laugh at it! :o)

Avatar Image says:

Omg please dont tell me they make it look like harrys in love with luna lol! thats hilarious… tho… at the end of book five i do admit i saw a chance of that happening :P shes such a retard has she not read any of the books

Avatar Image says:

hey all i’ve tried very hard to pause on the scene where hermione hugs harry, and i can tell u its NOT from the GOF. the background is a room that looks very old and there is a huge drapery on the opposite wall, the furniture look old too. and right before hermione jumps over harry, it shows Ron moving towards the right of the screen in a t-shirt. all in all, i thought it was the scene from harry’s arrival at GP, where he first meets hermione and ron.

Avatar Image says:

“It’s going Hogwild at Hogwarts” Not the best line in history.

Avatar Image says:

yeah. umbridge is gonna stab harry and hermione. with a wand. and of course, luna and harry are madly in love. i wonder if these ppl read the book before they wrote the script!!!

some ppl are idiots.

Avatar Image says:

It just goes to show that reporters get a lot of facts wrong when they try to make their interviews exciting. She ahs no idea the scenes stood by themselves and her little snippets remind me of Rita Skeeter. Twisted writing fior a twisted mind.

Can anyone say Daily Globe The Enquirer or any other rag paper. Any way all I say is awesome scenes

LUNA we all know really has feelings for Ron. LOL

Avatar Image says:

It’s such a shame. According to the previews, this is the scene that will be mangled so horribly by having Harry “overpower” Snape to view the Snape’s Worst Memory scene. This film will be such a bad joke so I’m not rushing to see it. However, It makes me wonder how they’ll allow super Harry to overpower Snape in HBP? Surely our hero can’t be smacked down the way he truly was in the book, can he? Pshaw!

Avatar Image says:

Luna and Harry are they crazy?!? but that was a good spoiler!!! i mean that in a good way!!!;)

Avatar Image says:

The reason Harry is sitting is because David Yates wanted the scene to look like electro-shock therapy. It is explained here: http://acedmagazine.com/content/view/247/1/

I think it looks great, both actors are very very good in it!

Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: It was a big disappointment to me...
