The allegiance of wands is confusing. In the interview JKR says Darco conquered Dumbledore.. “Dumbledore didn’t want to lose his wand at that point and Draco disarmed him. So that meant that the wand gave Draco its allegiance…” This and what was said in the book (7) suggests that you can gain the allegiance of most wands just by disarming the owner. This would have surely occurred often particularly when practicing duels, as in book 2, and therefore this aspect of wands would become common knowledge.

Hi,im posting to answer the question about why Harry survived Voldomort’s killing curse. This is due to the fact that voldomort took some of harry’s blood during his rebirth wich contained Lily’s protection which made Voldomort as a kind of horcrux for Harry thus the curse only killed the part of Voldomort in harry(including the connection between them)while leaving the rest of harry alive.

Let me just make clear that I meant in the previous post “This would have surely occurred often ” in the wizarding world ”... this aspect of wands would become common knowledge.” for most wizards etc. You can imagine fathers telling their kids as they go off to Hogwarts for the first time to hold onto their wands more than anything else.

I thought that it was only the elder wand that could be gained by disarming the holder

Lechicaneuronline: Do you think Snape is a hero ?
J.K. Rowling: Yes, I do. [...]

From this new interview :
“I don’t really see him as a hero.”

J.K. Rowling Fan

17 years. Jo has always treated her fans with respect and dignity. She ALWAYS acts like a lady. She gave us a world of characters we care about. I mena, these people aren’t real. They’re imaginary. But we want to know what happens to them after the books. How many billionaires are as wonderful as Jo? A kind, loving person. Thank you for being in our universe. I LOVE YOU, JO.

Meredeth Viera sucks. Totally smary, self-centered. Asked Jo the same question 3-4 times trying to get Jo to say what Viera wanted her to say. Tried to suck up on the MS thing. Viera’s a piece of crap. Good for Jo for putting up with her and being normal. VIERA SUCKS!!

amanda you said “I thought that it was only the elder wand that could be gained by disarming the holder” but in Chapter 24 The Wandmaker, Ollivander explains this process for all wands generally, before being asked about the Elder wand

So Did Dumbledore leave behind clues of the hallows to Harry as kind of a back up plan for Harry’s Protection?

Like a few of you before, I’m a bit confused about Ron’s future….JKR has said that he becomes an Auror like Harry, and then she said he works with George at the Wheezes shop. I suppose it’s possible he does both…but I’m hoping she clears this up…

Also, I don’t care about this Elder wand stuff! I want to know who the new Hogwarts Headmaster/mistress is!
