If you thought there was enough new information today given the J.K. Rowling online chat, oho not so as there is even more online as MSNBC has now posted yet another article containing more new facts about the final Harry Potter book from our favorite author. In this article, which contains question submitted by viewers of the “Today Show,” Jo gives new answers concerning Draco, Snape, the epilogue and other (SPOILER) information about events in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which you can read via this link.
I thought the Elder Wand stuff was easy enough to understand. I do like what Jo said, though, about the irony of the entire fate of the wizarding world resting on the shoulders of these two teenagers getting into a fist fight. Loves it.
I’m a bit confused. After reading the Today Show interview, and the Web Chat Transcipt, it seems to me JKR has assigned Ron two different “future” lives – one transforming the Auror Department with Harry, and the other going into business with George in the joke shop. Has anyone else noticed this? What’s Ron really doing? Perhaps I’ve misread?
Great interview! Keep ‘em coming, Jo. ;) I do wish we had had interviews just like this for the previous books, spelling out the basic points the plot hinged on. I’d still like to know how Fawkes and the Sorting Hat got to the Chamber of Secrets in book 2.
I’m a tad bit confused… I guess I need some opinions.. So It was a sad chapter watching Harry going to death (or so he believed) He also thought that Dumbledoor was sending him to his death.. But dumbledoor wanted him to get the deathly hallows so that when he faced voldemort he would be invincible right? So dumbledoor really did care deeply for Harry.. So what kept Harry from Dying, because voldemort was the one who posessed the elder wand. and also, it seems as though it was all just a big coincidence that Harry was able to defeat Voldemort because he had won Draco’s wand… Rather than it being Dumbledoor’s plan… See my Dilema? Can anyone clarify?
Tani – I thought that meant that he did both. I think that immediately after the events in Book 7, Ron started working with George at the joke shop. Eventually, though, once the Ministry had been cleaned up, he started working in the Auror Office with Harry. I don’t think he was ever a partner in the joke shop the way Fred had been, but rather he was helping George keep everything together until things got settled.
Unrelated but JKR has updated her site to wish our lovely harry potter a happy birthday…. if anyone cares considering he’s the whole reason we have our lovely fan sites :)
and of course a very happy birthday to the wonderful author who bewitched us all with this amazing book series :)....the end of july is so much fun, sunday was my birthday, today-the 30th over here in the states still-is neville’s, and tomorrow is harry’s, jkr’s, and someone said its the actor who plays vernon as well!!! yay for birthdays! lol
Mrs, Rowling. I am a 62 year old Grandfather of 10, all of whom simply adore Harry Potter and the cast of Hogwarts students.
My question: “Would you consider making ‘The World of Harry Potter,’ a television series?” It could be along the lines of a soap opera. You could start with Book 1 and show the life of Harry in more detail, before he goes to Hogwarts as well as day to day events of the students at Hogwarts, that was not possible in the books or Movies.
You could actually extend this series for over 20 years if you made each semester at Hogwarts cover about three months or more. Each weekly program should be an hour and you could have them produce 25 shows a year, with two weeks off and then re-run the season again, before going on to the next season, or have one week between the originals and the re-runs. That way you could have a week between the re-runs and the “New Season.”
I am sure that Harry Potter is a name that will still be spoken and his life read a hundred years from now. His life reflects some aspect of every individual who reads these books and thus the reason for the popularity…we each have a little Harry, Hermonie, Ron, and Draco in us.
Yes, Mrs Rowling, this would allow all of us to continue watching a program which would be totally entertaining as well as educational as we study along with the students at Hogwarts.
This would also give you a chance to allow ALL OF US who love Quidditch to get to see a complete match from time to time. It would be fantastic.
So, please don’t stop with the movies, now that book 7 is complete.
I purchased the Hard Back Book and the CD’s read so well by Jim Dale.
Like you I literally cried like a baby in chapter 34.
I guess I cried for over five minutes, non stop. I felt like I had experienced a loss of part of me, yet, you resurected me as the book continued toward the final battle with Voldemort.
Yes, it was a welcome relief. Not only was Voldemort dead, struck so, by his own spell, but the curses he had over people were released and those people returned to normal. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Harry in the end, did not kill Voldemort, but the same spell which weakened him in the beginning, while linking him to Harry, once again bounced back and he was killed by his own hate.
Please consider these requests.
We Love you for what you have given OUR Family, but also, for what you have given the rest of Humanity as well.
"What do you like me to call you when we're alone together?" [br]Even by the dim light of the lantern Harry could tell that Mrs. Weasley had turned bright red...[br]"Mollywobbles," whispered a mortified Mrs. Weasley into the crack at the edge of the door.
So many interviews! Cool! Snape is the greatest character in the books, no doubt!
