If you thought there was enough new information today given the J.K. Rowling online chat, oho not so as there is even more online as MSNBC has now posted yet another article containing more new facts about the final Harry Potter book from our favorite author. In this article, which contains question submitted by viewers of the “Today Show,” Jo gives new answers concerning Draco, Snape, the epilogue and other (SPOILER) information about events in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which you can read via this link.
From the chapter “The Princes Tale”: And Severus Snape moved off to the other side of the Hall, away from Lily, to where the Slytherins were cheering him, to where Lucius Malfoy, a prefect badge gleaming upon his chest, patted Snape on the back as he sat down beside him …
Confused, how come Neville got the Sword?? Goblins already took it when they were in the gringots. About the Elder wand, Is Snape stooled Draco’s wand before he “Avadra Kedavra” Dumbledore?? I think Jo was not really concentrate when she was processing the book 7.
My opinion is: some of you have read the book too fast and that’s probably the reason you have so many doubts. Because you are confusing many things, and they are very well explained in the book.
I have many doubts too, but for example the thing about the wands or Dumbledore’s plan is perfectly explained.
Lian, no, Jo is fine, it’s YOU who didn’t concentrate on the book hard enough. Snape did not steal Draco’s wand. DRACO DISARMED DD AND BECAME MASTER OF THE ELDER WAND. Snape was never the master of the Elder wand….that was another Voldemort mistake.
The Neville/Sword thing has been so explained so many times already it’s just not worth it. Your answer is in Jo’s recent online chat.
Honestly, after each new book I read about people bragging about how they finished it in some impossible time frame, like five or six hours. I never understood how anyone could do that, but now I get it. You don’t actually read, you skim. And then spend weeks asking the same questions over and over again.
i liked the fact that there where big surprises in the end, i would never’ve guessed that it was dumbledore that asked snape to kill him and that snape was on the “good side” until the end.. i didn’t like him that much, but it’s easier to understand him, and like him now… thank you j.k.rowlings for all the hours i’ve spent with harry potter, it feels as if i really knew him..
It was a wonderful book, it moved along so quickly. I couldn’t put it down. I was sitting on the beach reading it, surrounded by other people clutching their books. Thank you Jo, and happy birthday, Harry!
Happy B-Day Jo and Harry!!!!! You both have had a huge impact on my life!!!! Thank you sooooo much!
Question to anyone who can answer… perhaps I’ve read too fast, or just missed something but can anyone help me understand how Ron and Hermione got out of the Chamber of Secrets, when it took Fawkes to get the boys out (and Ginny, and Lockhart) in CoS? Wasn’t it really deep and all caved in? It is just something that I can’t figure out!!!
Happy birthday Harry and Jo! Both of you changed my life!
About the professions, I think Jo changed her mind since the last interview, I think she has the right to do so, why wouldn’t she be able to think about something and then think it better and wanted to change it? Some of you are too picky with her. I know she said both Harry and Ron become aurors, but I think she changed her mind and Ron works with George. So Hermione and Percy work at the Ministry, Harry becomes Head of the Aurors, Ginny is a Qudditch player and then she become a journalist. And I think there are still people we don’t know what they do. Do Arthur still wrok at the Ministry? man, the Ministry becomes their second home lol
aw, it’s really over guys. ah, i love jo. she’s great. i believe the book is really clear with stuff, but i read it too fast the first time, and i just finished rereading and now i understand it much better =]
“Mrs, Rowling. I am a 62 year old Grandfather of 10, all of whom simply adore Harry Potter and the cast of Hogwarts students.
My question: “Would you consider making ‘The World of Harry Potter,’ a television series?” It could be along the lines of a soap opera. You could start with Book 1 and show the life of Harry in more detail, before he goes to Hogwarts as well as day to day events of the students at Hogwarts, that was not possible in the books or Movies.
You could actually extend this series for over 20 years if you made each semester at Hogwarts cover about three months or more. Each weekly program should be an hour and you could have them produce 25 shows a year, with two weeks off and then re-run the season again, before going on to the next season, or have one week between the originals and the re-runs. That way you could have a week between the re-runs and the “New Season.”
I am sure that Harry Potter is a name that will still be spoken and his life read a hundred years from now. His life reflects some aspect of every individual who reads these books and thus the reason for the popularity…we each have a little Harry, Hermonie, Ron, and Draco in us.
Yes, Mrs Rowling, this would allow all of us to continue watching a program which would be totally entertaining as well as educational as we study along with the students at Hogwarts.
This would also give you a chance to allow ALL OF US who love Quidditch to get to see a complete match from time to time. It would be fantastic.
So, please don’t stop with the movies, now that book 7 is complete.
I purchased the Hard Back Book and the CD’s read so well by Jim Dale.
Like you I literally cried like a baby in chapter 34.
I guess I cried for over five minutes, non stop. I felt like I had experienced a loss of part of me, yet, you resurected me as the book continued toward the final battle with Voldemort.
Yes, it was a welcome relief. Not only was Voldemort dead, struck so, by his own spell, but the curses he had over people were released and those people returned to normal. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
Harry in the end, did not kill Voldemort, but the same spell which weakened him in the beginning, while linking him to Harry, once again bounced back and he was killed by his own hate.
Please consider these requests.
We Love you for what you have given OUR Family, but also, for what you have given the rest of Humanity as well. “
Jube – You are probably right that Ron filled in for (dead) Fred for awhile, and then went onto the Auror office with Harry. But like goodguyseatpie, it would be nice to hear a word from Jo (happy birthday to you!) regarding this. Perhaps we shall have to wait for the Encyclopedia for the minutia. And seriously, I can’t complain about that. After my first read through the book, I’m listening to Jim Dale’s excellent reading at a slow and leisurely pace. It is amazing how “listening” you pick up on so many details you skim over while reading. What a great experience this has been :)
"Don't be silly, Dawlish," said Dumbledore kindly. "I'm sure you are an excellent Auror, I seem to remember that you achieved 'Outstanding' in all your N.E.W.T.s, but if you attempt to -- er -- 'bring me in' by force, I will have to hurt you."
