According to a posting on actress Emma Watson’s website, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been nominated at a new National Movie Award in the UK in the category of “Best Family Movie.” Emma has also been nominated for her role as Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” The website says these new awards will be shown on UK channel ITV September 29, and the winners are chosen via a nationwide poll with voting forms to be “available in every cinema outlet throughout the UK, and published in national newspapers, magazines, and online.” We are trying to obtain more information about these new awards and will update when we can. Congratulations to the whole Order of the Phoenix team!
Other congratulations are also in store for Emma Watson, who also received marks that Hermione would no doubt be very happy to obtain with all A grades in her A/S levels. Congratulations Emma!

but what ARE the National Movie Awards!! Show me a link. I haven’t found reference to one of that name. The only ‘movie’ award nomination I can find is for Nickelodeon.
Emma is the weakest of the three in terms of acting in OotP. Dan is the stongest and should be nominated. But if this is an online poll, who cares? The Emma fans are quite good at things like that.
I’m surprised. The nomination is not really deserved. I like Emma, but her performance was not anywhere near award winning. She was better in OOTP than in GOF (she was just really really bad in GOF), but she still needs a lot of work. I think she has it in her: maybe by 6 or 7 she’ll put out a worthy performance, but so far I haven’t seen it.

according to Julian above, who’s seen the forms in cinemas, Dan and Rupert are nominated too. But I still can’t find ANY other reference to them online and Emma’s website says forms are meant to be available online and in newspapers too.
Oh, Emma is talented all right. Straight As and an official website to make sure she always has news. The boys should have one too. They’re better actors although Em’s not too bad.
Emma is NOT the weakest actress in the series. Fact. Dan is NOT the strongest. Fact. I don’t know why these people get their kicks out of insulting people they will never get close to in terms of talent or success.
The NMA’s are expected to rival the baftas. There is going to be a glitzy ceremony in September. Of coarse the baftas are upset that there is a new award show and they don’t like it because the people who go watch the movies, aka the general public, can say who they think deserves the award. Not a board member. So this is pretty huge for Emma. She’s had a great couple of weeks, getting the ballet role, getting 4 A’s for her A levels, now an award nomination.
Emma seems like a very sweet girl, but, and I say this as an actor, she is not an actress. Evanna seems more deserving of this nom.
And lets not forget Dan, who continuously improves, or Rupert, who for once seemed to have been given the chance to shine.
