Ha! I love that cover. It’s like Dumbledore’s Army got all pimped out!

Avatar Image says:

OMG!!! that’s so cool, they pretty much featured all my favorite icons EVER! (except for Bioncé) gotta get it and frame it!!! :-)

Avatar Image says:

Hahahahahaha that was funny twiwizardjedi!!! i agree! notice Dan is in front of everyone else!!! when the hec is the HP6 tralier coming out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????

Avatar Image says:

Harry Potter first of all…. OF COURSE!

Avatar Image says:

That’s awesome!!

Avatar Image says:

let the fanfiction begin, triwizard…

Avatar Image says:

Yayyyy =)

Avatar Image says:

that’s awesome! And GOF is my favorite book of the series as well (with DH a very close second). What a shame I’m not a subscriber anymore. Guess I’ll have to buy this one on the news stand.

Avatar Image says:

They also have listed under 25 death scenes Cedric’s death in Goblet of Fire. Just thought I would point it out :)

YAY!!!!!

Avatar Image says:

Uh…....it’s cool and all, but WHY use the evil long-haired Harry from the 4th movie (which was a disgrace to the series except for Voldy and Harry being topless YUMMY) That Harry’s hair was TOO LONG!

Avatar Image says:

Yes, kanedax! Excellent idea. Someone please write this. Something along the lines of: “And a besotted Ginny Weasley transfigured herself into a divalicious R&B singer, and the monster in Harry’s chest growled…”

Avatar Image says:

Gorgeous, handsome Dan! Love that he is not just on the cover, but at the very forefront! DeathlyH, since when is Harry EVER “evil” ? (except for the evilh/hr clincher but that’s not really Harry…)

Avatar Image says:

I just realized that’s Will Smith in the very back! Burn! He’s like the top selling movie actor and they stuck him in the back. Depp too is, back there. Whoa! I guess it’s because HP has made such waves in both literature and movies? a lthough i don’t think it made the best movies list or anything. ( of course, i think putting Dan’s pretty face on the cover helps lol) Love it , love it.

Avatar Image says:

Yay! Congrats J.K. Rowling! You deserve this, you’re definitely my favorite author!*

Avatar Image says:

@ Radcakesfan: I love Dan too, (i’m “Dan’s Girlfriend” on your site) but I hate that hairdo. The HAIRDO is evil. Not Harry.

Avatar Image says:

I’m really happy to see “The Road” on this list. It is both heart-breaking and UNFORGETTABLE. I’m also a huge fan of his book “No Country for Old Men”. A real nail-biter!

Avatar Image says:

Yeah, my jaw drops to see Dan right in front of all these big icons! Crikey, gotta say that is way cool. Well this would certainly please all the “I love Dan” fans to no end ;)

Interesting to see that different Potter Books come top of different polls. DIdnt OOTP and POA came first in two different polls recently. Philosopher’s Stone usually comes top on other poles such as BBC best read

Avatar Image says:

Naturally! Jo is a genius and we knew it from the beginning of those “kids books’. Im 31 years old and am obsessed with the genius of her story telling and plotting. I love to write and she taight me how to be a better author, story teller and an avid reader! Thank God for Jo.

Avatar Image says:

Love the cover, great to see Dan at the front of a Pop Culture Army! And will people stop obsessing about the actors hair!

Avatar Image says:

deathlyH, umm, i don’t have a site? I send in info here and there but that’s it.

(laughs at Prof. Potter) yup!

As for the hair issue, I love that Dan looks different all the time. I don’t care if he looks bad or good, as an actor, we ‘re going to have to get used to him looking different, be it handsome ie normal :D or drugged up, ugly, with weird hairstyles and facial hair, fat and chubby- whatever the roles demand. Get with it people and roll with the flow.

Avatar Image says:

I am glad Harry is there but I am also glad Buffy made it on there too!! Thats full of doing whats right not whats popular or easy…

Avatar Image says:

This is the coolest thing ever! And he is in the front of all those other icons! Go Dan! And go Harry Potter Phenomenon!

Avatar Image says:

hey i like Harry with this hairstyle…looked really like the ‘shaggy untidy hair’ we read in the books…..and GOF book is my favourite too…and I like Johnny Depp and Jennifer Aniston and Will Smith too…..so really good cover i say!

Avatar Image says:

I’m not surprised they focused on the 4th book. I just finished re-reading it (only for the 2nd time – I haven’t read it like, 10 times or something like everyone else) and it really is a nail-biter, especially starting with “The Third Task” chapter. It’s the book when everything changes and Harry really is forced to grow up fast. About the cover – also not surprised there’s a big picture of Dan Radcliffe right in the middle of cover. He’s the toast of New York right now.

Avatar Image says:

As great as I think it is that GoF is ranked that high, I’m even happier and maybe even more surprised that Maus is on the list. A graphic novel about the Holocaust may seem an odd concept, but what Spiegelman did was devastating.

Avatar Image says:

Hello, sorry I know I’m going to go off topic here, but I was just wondering….. two things…. If the Trailer for HBP were on Get Smart, how long will it take to get on this site… also… I read that there will be no trailers coming out until August/september.

Avatar Image says:

I just didn’t know where else to ask…. for future reference… where do I type questions?

Avatar Image says:

Like Tiffany said, Cedric’s death is also listed in the top 25 new classic death scenes, but on top of that, Mary Grandpré’s cover of Scorcerer’s Stone is listed under 25 new classic book covers. We’re doing well :)

Avatar Image says:

I guess the trailer wasn’t on Get Smart… or else we would’ve heard about it… Darn…

Avatar Image says:

I saw Get Smart today, and there was no trailer. Guess we have to wait til Dark Knight comes out.

Avatar Image says:

awesome….Dan on the cover.wow..and a gof pic too!glad Jo’s got the highest vote..she’s amazing with the books..and glad HP gets the recognition it deserves..

Avatar Image says:

hahahhahahahahahhaha the cover is too funny! Harry Potter RULES! and YAY to JK Rowling! She’s number one! YAY!

Avatar Image says:

Oh my goodness. The books are getting so much praise at the moment. I love the fact that she was voted favourite author… I have to admit that i love Stephen King as well! :D

Any way, who else is happy dear old Eddie Scissorhand is on the front aswell? xxx

Avatar Image says:

Congrats Jo but…. HELLO?! Shouldn’t His Dark Materials be higher that 40?! Come on!

Avatar Image says:

It’s not Dan who is the icon. it’s Harry. Harry is the one in the front. Don’t confused the two. And Harry deserves to be in the front. It has nothing to do with Dan.

Avatar Image says:

Star people aren’t confusing Dan with Harry, Dan is as much a part of the hp iconic image as anything because he is the face of hp. They could have gone with jkr or a drawing of of hp instead but they didnt because Dan’s image is more recognisable and therefore iconic. It takes nothing away from the books it promotes and compliments them.

Avatar Image says:

i agree with dadcakesfan.looks different all time very advantage for daniel.

i love this cover.edward /johnny (my favorite tim and johnny’ movies),daniel/harry,bono (my favorite band),sarah/buffy (my favorite series),lisa simpson (my favorite cartoon).wow its amazing.

Avatar Image says:

Agree with you both, Star and Miriam. It’s said that the movies make more than the books which makes sense when you think that each movie makes almost a billion dollars each, and if the average price of a ticket is $10, that’s a whole lot of seats they’re selling.

Of course, i am also just gleeful that they positioned H/D in front.

Avatar Image says:

Nice Pic!!

of course JO was the #1 favorite author. who else could it possibly be?

Avatar Image says:

“Star” wrote: “It’s not Dan who is the icon. it’s Harry. Harry is the one in the front. Don’t confused the two. And Harry deserves to be in the front. It has nothing to do with Dan.”

Just wanted to point out that this is a different Star from me. I don’t post here very often anymore, but I wouldn’t have posted this. I know Dan and Harry are two different people, and I wouldn’t dream of suggesting everyone else here doesn’t know it, too.

On the topic at hand, what a great cover. :)

Avatar Image says:

Hey Deathly H! I could say the same thing harry’s hair was the longest in the goblet of fire(well that was’nt exactly what you said!) anyway,do any of you harry potter fans want to goin my witch club? I also have a wizard club,so if you want to goin my clubs, just go to: ‘http://Potter9mahiac.multiply.com’’ and when you are on my website you have to typ your email adress in the guest box but you have to ’’sign in’’ or ’’sign up’’ anyway you will also get free MyHound alerts for: Emaa Watson,Daniel Radcliff,J.K.Rowling,Rupert Grint and Tom Felton and I will see if I can get some more actors for Harry Potter, plus whoever doesn’t know when the HBP trailer will be out ,it will be out in November.

Avatar Image says:

why didn’t DD’s death scene make the list?? if i’m not wrong, the world was in a literal shock when his death happened. i think i read stories of how tears rolled off readers eyes etc. sigh

Avatar Image says:

HPgenius, it was death scenes from MOVIES that they listed. Read it properly. Also considering how many death scenes there have been over years on film for Cedric to be listed is great.

Avatar Image says:

Hey! The new greatest death scenes included Cedric Diggory at #23. Check it out!
