MTV has two new articles online relating to the recently released teaser trailer for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” In the first article, actor Rupert Grint says that while he has not yet seen the new trailer, he is looking forward to watching it, especially as it contains a quick glimpse of Ron and the poisoning scene.

“He gets poisoned quite a bit in this film’ Grint laughed ” because he ate Romilda Vane’s chocolate cauldrons (also meant for someone else, this time Harry) which were spiked with love potion. Harry rushes his friend off to the potions professor for a quick fix, only Ron goes from a bad predicament to a lethal one in mere moments. “That was a really fun scene’ Grint said.

In the second piece, MTV interviews quite a few members of the Harry Potter fandom, who give their reaction to the new trailer. Jen Bensoussan, who runs the fan site DanRadcliffe.com, called him the “perfect evil, eerie child version of Voldemort. Think ‘Omen.’ “

“It seems that in the way the universe revolved around the role of Dolores Umbridge in the last film, perhaps Voldemort will be stealing the stage this go-around,” said Megan Schuyler, a documentary filmmaker who just completed a movie about wizard rock. “Hero Fiennes-Tiffin will make an excellent Dark Lord-in-training.” “It gave me goose bumps,” said Jace Crion of the wizard-rock band Catchlove. “The trailer gave me hope that this could be the best Harry Potter movie yet.”

“It makes you want to stick with Harry to see how he’s going to get through it all,” said Hallie Tibbets, a staffer at Terminus, “even if you know exactly how the story will end.”

Gambon seems to be channeling the spirit of Richard Harris, who interpreted Dumbledore with a quiet brilliance. The trailer scenes with him were fascinatingly brilliant.

Wow, I really can’t see this movie, especially Hero, I agree this is most likely to be the best yet, his performance was just brillient.

Is it just me, or does little Hero look eerily like the actor (sorry can’t remember his name) who portrayed Tom M. Riddle in the second movie? They could be either brothers or the same person at different ages – as, of course, they are supposed to be!

Is it just me, or does young Mr. Hero look eerily like the actor (sorry, can’t remember his name) who portrayed Tommy R. in the second movie? They could be brothers, or the same person at different ages (which, of course, is what they’re supposed to be)!

I agree with the statements in the second interview. The trailer really makes me expect a lot about this movie and Fiennes really did give me goose-bumps. Made me think I was watching a horror movie trailer first time i saw it.

No, they aren’t related. Hero is the nephew of Ralph Fiennes, isn’t he? The actor that played 16 year old Riddle in CS was Christian Colson, who is now 30. Likely that’s the reason he wasn’t considered to reprise the teenage Riddle role. I do agree that he looks a lot like Hero, who is very eerie in his portrayal of the young Tom Riddle. Looks fantastic, actually.

I was so pleased to see all the things that are being included in the film. Not quite sure how they can leave out any of the memories without the set up for the final two films suffering. But it does look really good. And as one who has complained a lot about Gambon, I have to admit that he looks really good in this one. He was better in OP as well, so it must have to do with the director more than with him. I always notice when I see him in other movies that I like him and he’s quite good.

BTW, thanks, TLC, for the screen caps. It made it much easier to see all the things that went by so quickly in the trailer. Especially things like Dumbledore putting on the Gaunt ring. Very cool, that one.

:-)

Well, we should always have hope that the newest Harry Potter flick is better than it’s predescessors, but not because of the trailer.

So that was the Cauldron Cakes scene! I had forgotten about it so I went to search for it in the book and found it yesterday. Judging from the trailer I was afraid they would make it seem as if they somehow did not have to vist Slughorn and the Harry would just give the bezoar in the common room. What Grint says sets it right though. That is just one of my favorite scenes in this book so I look forward to it.

I have thought that Gambon is much better as Dumbledore than Harris ever was. He seems a little more serious and a little less “airy”. A little less like he is putting on a costume and a personality to match the story, and a little more like a “real” person. Of course, my opinion may be jaded slightly by my memories of Harris, whom I thought of irritable and somewhat unfriendly in real life. He appeared on Letterman several times, always wearing dirty-looking sweatsuits. I remember him disliking being recognized as Dumbledore in public and being hassled by fans.

He really does mkm, this looks great, you know rightly though that come around next January probably the purists will be condeming it as the worst film ever and Yates is awful. Mad how that happens! Anyway this really does look good I hope they really push the 12A certificate to breaking point and be really creepy and intense throughout the memories and the battle scenes, because the rom-com comments will bring down the tension anyway. This definetly has the potential to be the best so far and trust that Yates will see it to be so

Hmm…. This trailer is really frightening, dark and mystireous! It makes you exited indeed! Of course, according to the trailer it’s difficult to say what the film will be like and will it be better than other HP fims or not, but…. even this short trailer showes, that the 6th film will be at least interesting and worth-while!))) ...and effective as well! As for Dumbledor… Personally I liked Harris more – it seemes to me, he was more kind and wise, he was right from fairy-tale!)) But it must be admitted, Gambon’s play becomes more and more bettsmell popcorn, sit down in an armchair and the light in cinema will be turned out!))) Waiting for premiere!!!!er. He’s not bad at all in trailer, must be said.) Little Voldemort in childhood is impressive! Glimpse of Ron was really quick (it was a small single moment!), but scarious and alarming! Even in this moment happy to see him)) So can’t wait a sacred minute, when I will smell popcorn, sit down in an armchair and the light in a cinema will be turned off!))))) Waiting for a premiere!!!!!
