Leaky video editor JP has put together a fantastic retrospective today as we close out this remarkable year, this tenth year of Potter. You can view it at the YouTube viewer below, or by using the download link to save it to your own computer. It will also shortly become available on the feed of our Harry Potter podcast and in our galleries.
Huge thanks go to this JP for this excellent video! We hope you all enjoy and that it brings back many memories of these years.
As always from Leaky a fantastically professional job. Well done JP!

MN’s was surprisingly incomprehensive. Ignoring the PotterCast interview from Jo altogether – churlish and altogehter unsurprising. And grossly self congratulatory on their podcast. I love this video. There’s no way you can sum up 10 years in a few lins of text, at leat this video went for the feeling, that’s more adequate than a skimpy timeline.
Sniff… 10 years of crazed obessions, going, going, almost gone. sigh. This was the last huge HP year, the last year that had spectulation for a movie and book, the last major double climax. It’s been nice to live through it, to say “We were there in 2007”, the last great year of HP….
See you guys on the other side!!
What a wild ride, and so glad that Harry was able to say ”... Snape … bravest … ”.
I look forward to the Scottish Book and whether or not Jo’s children beg her to write about Albus Severus Potter … (I always wondered if we wouldn’t hear more about the Weasleys trip to Egypt … hmmm Cleopatra … asp … Egypt … sounds like a mystery brewing to me).
JP, you did great on the video. It summarized so well everything that we as fans have experienced throughout 2007, which we will never experience again in the same way. The music was perfect and the scenes you picked were too. If you haven’t already, or aren’t already in the profession, you should seriously consider film and/or television editing or even producing.
Wow. I am a Video editor, so take my word that this was a very good job and must have taken hours upon hours of work. The fast cutting final sequence alone would be quite a task. Good work Mr or Ms JP.
The video was absolutely brilliantly done, JP! Aw gosh…10 years it’s been? And I got into these books at what age, 4? If of course I had known of the books these ten long, amazing years.
Words cannot describe what kind of journey this had been and the impact Harry Potter has made on my life. takes a deep, long breath. Yup, I’m completely satisfied.
Congratulations to JP on creating an outstanding video and a heartfelt thank you for the joyful ride and thank you, of course, to all the folks at Leaky who give so much for us fans. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
OMG!! That was an amazing video. It was a timeline of the fantasy series we all know and love. I can’t believe it’s all over (well there are 2 movies and the Scottish book yet to come but, the main thing is all over).... I’m having difficulty putting down what I feel in words. The ending was fantastic, with the music and the movies going back in sequential order and then jumping to the 5th movie, OMG!! words can’t describe how great that movie made me feel! Thanks JP!!
WOW…...THAT WAS EXCITING TO WATCH KUDOS TO JP FOR AN OUTSTANDING JOB. HE SHOULD GO INTO EDITING FULL TIME. THE LAST PART BLEW ME AWAY. THE EXCITEMENT WAS EXTREME IN THE BEGINNING BUT IT GOT BETTER AND BETTER AS IT ENDED. THAT WAS …ANOTHER …..WOW.
Hermione did everything perfectly until she reached the trunk with the boggart in it. After about a minute inside it, she burst out again, screaming.[br]"Hermione!" said Lupin, startled. "What's the matter?"[br]"P -- P -- Professor McGonagall!" Hermione g
That was FLIPPIN AWESOME!!! Especially the end!!! Good job JP!!
