There are reports online tonight saying that actor Dave Legeno has been cast in the role of werewolf Fenrir Greyback for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We are uncertain if his part will be part CG, similar to Grawp in “Order of the Phoenix” or how this character will appear in the sixth Harry Potter film, and will update with more when we get it.

UPDATE: There is word now that actor Ralph Ineson has been cast in the part of Death Eater Amycus Carrow in “Half-Blood Prince” as well.

Update 2: According to the Snitchseeker, a few more minor background characters have been cast. Please regard all of these as rumor until confirmed by Warner Brothers.

Thanks to Jamie, Nico, and the Snitch.

I was hoping for Daniel Day Lewis! Where is this Dave Legeno guy? I can’t find any pics of him!

I expect they’ll probably use CGI to make his eyes more “twistedly insane.” Something to that effect.

LOL, Finchy from The Office = Amycus Carrow. It all kind of loosely fits together, oddly. :)

Heres the scene where I think Fenrir is introduced, Lupin may talk about him before at Christmas like in the book.

The Fight Surrounding The Burrow

Without hesitation, she races for the reeds.

84 EXT. REEDS (SURROUNDING BURROW) – MOMENTS LATERNIGHT

Harry careens through the marsh, reeds flashing past, then spies Bellatrix. She GRINS, looking like a crazed wood nymph, then flits off, her LAUGHTER mocking him. As he pursues, FIRE SNAKES through the reeds toward him.

NEW ANGLE

Fred, George, Ron and Arthur fan out, running full-out, their feet kicking up SPARKS as SHADOWS splinter throughout the reeds. It’s like chasing ghosts.

NEW ANGLE

Ginny, copper hair gleaming, races through the reeds.

Bellatrix leads Harry on, grinning madly.

Ginny comes dashing to a halt, chest heaving as she peers into the smoking marsh. A HUGE FIGURE QUIVERS through a veil of smoke. Ginny’s eyes SHIFT, see Bellatrix racing forward through the reeds, then SHIFT back as the veil of smoke evaporates, reveals…Greyback. Bellatrix makes an ODD, CLICKING noise-like a signal-and Greyback edges forward, sweeping away the reeds in front of him and revealing…

...Harry as he pelts forward.

GINNY No, Harry! It’s a trap!

Harry falters, looking toward Ginny’s voice and spies Greyback. Bellatrix stops dead, wheels in her tracks and, seeing Ginny, SHRIEKS with RAGE. Raising her wand, she fires a BOLT of RED LIGHT which explodes in a SHOWER of SPARKS around Ginny. Ginny fires back, then wheels away, flashing through the reeds coming face to face with…

Greyback, sharp teeth glittering.

GREYBACK Don’t you smell clean.

Just then, a BOLT OF BLUE bursts off Greyback’s back and he turns, sees Harry standing several yards off. As Greyback gives chase, Ginny pelts after and we CUT back and forth between Harry, Ginny and the beast between them, faster and faster, their BREATHS shortening until…

Greyback rushes into a clearing, panting, glancing about.

Just then, TWIN BOLTS of light blast from opposite sides of the clearing and Greyback is lifted in the air, slammed to the ground. As he regains his feet he looks into the reeds and sees Harry and Ginny, wands poised. He grins…when Bellatrix’s odd, CLICKING signal carries through the night once again. Turning away, he exits.

Harry and Ginny slowly step out of the reeds, stare at each other wordlessly. Then…Ron, Fred, George, Arthur and Lupin come thrashing into the clearing, stop. All around them, the reeds SMOKE, the flames dying. Across the marsh, Bellatrix’s cackle rises briefly on the air—then all is quiet.

HERMIONE (O.S.) You’re lucky you weren’t killed.

85 INT. CORRIDOR/HOGWARTS CASTLESAME TIMEDAY

Hermione reads the Daily Prophet as she walks alongside Harry. The HEADLINE is GLOOMY: `MORE DISAPPEARANCES.`

HERMIONE You have to realize who you are, Harry.

HARRY (sharply) I know who I am, Hermione, alright? (frowning) Sorry.

HERMIONE So tell me what Arthur said.

HARRY If Dumbledore’s travelling places, it’s news to the Ministry. But get this: that night at Borgin & Burkes? It seems Draco was looking at a Vanishing Cabinet.

HERMIONE What would Draco want with a Vanishing Cabinet?

HARRY You tell me.

Hermione frowns, pondering this. Then:

HERMIONE He looks different, don’t you think? Draco. Almost…ill.

HARRY Who could tell the difference?

Oh, is that bit of the script actually authentic? Between random attacks on the Burrow and Hermione calling Mr Weasley “Arthur”, I wasn’t sure.

On the plus point, more Bella! And more Bella being wood-nymphy and crazy!

Re the Carrows, wasn’t there a report a while back that they were going to be two sisters or something?

At the Imdb boards we believe it is. It was given to us by the same poster who gave us much of the script for OOTP months before the film was even released.

Fischscale – it’s debatable. The guy who’s providing the script allegedly posted accurate pieces of the OOTP script months before the film came out, and he did call Greyback being cast weeks ago. Still seems a bit strange to me though. :x

I have read the extra scene at the Burrow on the IMDB that Nico mentioned and it sound so stupid and pointless. I hope it’s just a dream sequance.

Just think if this non book scene is in then what important book scene/info have the take out.

Its not allegedly, he did. He gave us most of the battle at the ministry, including the line “Get away from my godson” which was not in the book. He also gave us “Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?” The guy is legit.

Actually, I sent bits of the script into Leaky for Confirmation last year, and WB said they were fake…

Having read a fair few film scripts in my time, including some written by Steve Kloves, this reads NOTHING like a shooting script. It looks quite a bit like a fan-fic in script form. I would be very surprised if something this far-afield ends up in the film. Also, like fishscale said, I doubt that Hermione would call Mr. Weasley “Arthur”—pretty much a tell-tale sign this is a fake.

Just my two knuts. :D

This guy told us that Fenrir was indeed cast, and by not a famous actor, and that Pansy was being recast as well. He was the first to tell us that the Dursleys were out as well. Way before any of that information was ever confirmed. Plus, the arthur thing is not fishy at all. The trio started calling Lupin, “Remus” in DH. Its just a sign of maturing.

Well, the fact that they’ve cast a relatively unknown actor as Greyback suggests to me that he’s not going to have a massive role…not a huge problem, really, given he didn’t even have a big role in the books. The guy looks decent enough for a walk-on part.

Of greater interest though, is the casting of Ralph Ineson as Amycus Carrow. Chris Finch as a Death Eater?! Can’t say it’s what I had in mind, but there’s few better than Finchy at playing a loathably obnoxious jerk. I think he’ll work pretty well. :D

Dave Legeno looks like he could be a great Greyback and Chris Finch sort of looks like the way I was picturing Amycus in my head…wow I can’t wait for this move it come out.

Shout out to Hagiographer 13 for your gravatar- I respect the ending but always say H/Hr too…and always take flack for it so thanks and keep rocking that grav!
