There are reports online tonight saying that actor Dave Legeno has been cast in the role of werewolf Fenrir Greyback for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We are uncertain if his part will be part CG, similar to Grawp in “Order of the Phoenix” or how this character will appear in the sixth Harry Potter film, and will update with more when we get it.

UPDATE: There is word now that actor Ralph Ineson has been cast in the part of Death Eater Amycus Carrow in “Half-Blood Prince” as well.

Update 2: According to the Snitchseeker, a few more minor background characters have been cast. Please regard all of these as rumor until confirmed by Warner Brothers.

Thanks to Jamie, Nico, and the Snitch.

I agree with Hagiographer13. If any of you haven’t read one of Kloves’ scripts before, here’s the final draft of the COS script: http://www.fortunecity.com/tattooine/clarke/38/chamberofsecrets.html

And the May 24th, 2003 draft of the Prisoner of Azkaban script…. http://blinkiebarnes.tripod.com/azkaban.html

Definitely makes you wonder…

I like the look of them for those roles. Cmon HBP!

We’re getting the fight at the end! WOOT! All we need is Bill and we’re all set. XD

But seriously, I’m glad we keep getting acting news, this good, even if they aren’t crucial to the film’s plot, its nice to know that they’ll be there. :)

Funnily enough, the actor who’s set to play Amycus is from Leeds, like Matt Lewis (aka Neville) XD. On Wikipedia it says he has a thick Yorkshire accent. My favourite kind! There are pics of him on Google, if anyone wants to see what he looks like.

I’m glad they’ve cast these characters! What about Amycus’s sister, Alecto? She might not be important enough to make the film.

Should’ve been Clive Owen for Fenrir. That’s who I pictured when I read HBP and DH.

Hmm. I hope they don’t cut Alecto…. I’ve always been a bit fascinated with her, as the only other known female death eater. I’m actually quite looking forward to seeing her on screen.

If they have an Amycus then they must have Alecto. Kate Beckinsale would be alright (even though she is gorgeous unlike the character). She would go well with Ralph. Her daughters a fan so she would probably be up for a cameo and she’s not filming anything at the moment.

(When I first read those names I though the were around the other way as Amycus is like Amy – girl name and Alecto is like Alec – boy name. I didn’t pick up my mistake until the second time I read the book lol).

Were there only two female death eaters ever? I thought there were more but Bella and Alecto just got the lines.

Just goes to show that his role is going to be much more limited in this movie. Probably cast more to make an appearance in DH than to have any major role in this, especially since we don’t have Bill.

And I agree, Clive Owen’s the dream casting for this role, but this works, too.

Kate Beckinsale? Isn’t she a bit… good looking… to play the dumpy Alecto?

Where the script’s concerned, I remember another alarm bell going off when the word ‘gotten’ was used. No self respecting brit would use that word in the screenplay, I’m quite convinced. Maybe the imdb chap has provided correct info before, but if the extract is authentic, it strikes me as a very early draft.

I’m sorry but aren’t the Carrow siblings in Deathly Hallows not Half-Blood Prince? If anybody can explain this to me it would be rather helpful. I’m a bit confused. And wouldn’t this just take up time that they could use for a more important story line?

I’m pretty sure that script is real, as weird as it is, but I don’t know if it should be posted here, as it’s a pretty huge spoiler.

Well, Steve Kloves is an American so why is it surprising that there would be a few “Americanisms” in his screenplay? :) I doubt it would be the first time.

I think it’s fine to be skeptical of anyone claiming to have ‘insider info’ on the net but this guy has more than proven himself in the past. All signs once again seem to be pointing to him being right on. He mentioned Emma would not start shooting until December. Well before it was officially announced. Back in October there were even reports of an HBP film crew shooting a two-minute clip of REED BEDs for the movie in Abbotsbury. http://www.hpana.com/news.20249.html

He also called the info that someone not too well known was cast as Greyback and now that’s proven to be accurate too. People said the Ootp script snippets he posted last year were too “fanfictiony” as well, such as Sirius saying “stay away from my godson!” and punching Lucius or Snape walking up behind Harry’s parents in the Mirror of Erised and saying he “may vomit”. Lo, all of it was true. It would not be the first time WB changed or added scenes either.

As for me, the more I hear, the more I think this guy is legit. Guess we’ll find out when people leak spoilers during the screenings.

He better not look ‘man like’ I always pictured greyback as like a wolf with posture like a man with human features but all wolf and all hairy and stinky…
