There are reports online tonight saying that actor Dave Legeno has been cast in the role of werewolf Fenrir Greyback for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We are uncertain if his part will be part CG, similar to Grawp in “Order of the Phoenix” or how this character will appear in the sixth Harry Potter film, and will update with more when we get it.
Update 2: According to the Snitchseeker, a few more minor background characters have been cast. Please regard all of these as rumor until confirmed by Warner Brothers.
I heard this rumor a couple weeks ago, and didn’t believe it. I don’t mind if they include a new scene as long as it makes sense and flows with the story. For instance, I enjoyed most of the new scenese in GoF because they made sense and were exciting. However, for the life of me, I can’t figure out why death eaters would attack the burrow? Is it just to kill Harry or was something/someone else there? It just doesn’t make any sense. I’m not suggesting the person who posted the “script” is a liar, but in any case, it just doesn’t flow with the story.
OK, I love Hermione, but why can’t they make her like she is in the books? I’m not looking forward to “Super Hermione” by Steve Kloves, again. And I really can’t make out what the heck that scene would be. A fight at the Burrow in 6? I want Goldenberg back.
it wont be cgi. in HBP fenir hasnt transformed hence bill not becoming a full werewolf. the bloke playing greyback looks the part tho. not sure about the bloke playing carrow. he looks a little weedy, i got the impression the carrows were quite burly and beefy
I dont know if stephen fry would be in any of the films, dont get me wrong he would be brilliant, but as who?? plus, he does all of the audiotapes for harry potter and is fantastic!! i much prefer him to the guy that does the ameican audiotapes!ahhh stephen fry!
true that the wirters add little things in but they woulnt go as far as having death eaters attack the burrow, that would affect the entire story line
the “i love magic” in GoF was added but it didnt change anything
the burrow remains safe until bill and fluer’s wedding in DH
Dave Legeno isnt that well known.. and i arent they cutting out the gaunts im sure a post a couple of weeks ago on one website said that they arent having that in HBP movie..
what else is there still left to cast?
Guys who are wondering what the use the new scene is. The person providing it says he believes it happens after Christmas, and that the Burrow does indeed start on fire. He is not sure if it burns down completely, or just starts up.
There are two possibilities for why this scene is being done:
1) To make Harry realize that him dating Ginny would put her and the entire Weasley family in jeopardy. In the book he has Bill being attacked, this is basically that substutute. Also gives the line, “You have to realize who you are” more meaning from the script.
or
2) If the Burrow does indeed completely burn to the ground, it would mean the Weasleys may have to go somewhere else for the time being (Grimmauld Place) Which would allow them to find/mention the locket and the mirror.
And no news on Scrimgeour, our insider has not received any bits of the scripts that contain that character. He has given us a quidditch scene, the burrow scene, and the Slughorn’s memories scenes, including Dumbledore explaining horcruxes to Harry.
Nico, I guess I can see where #1 would come into effect. However, it still doesn’t make sense. Why would the death eaters attack the burrow on christmas? Just to get Harry? If they’re trying to kill Harry, wouldn’t Voldemort be there too? Were they trying to kill/kidnap someone else? Maybe they were trying to snatch Ginny or something. And if that’s the case, would Harry ever go back to Burrow again in DH? It sounds like he would put them in more Jeopardy.
I guess I’d have to see more of the “script” to understand the context of the scene.
Thanks for sharing all your inside info, Nico. I haven’t decided how I feel about the attack scene at the Burrow, but I tend to believe that it’s legit, simply because (as far as I can recall) you and your source HAVE indeed given us very accurate information in the past.
I think we should reserve judgment on the scene until we know the context. Everyone is saying how pointless it is, but when seen in the context of the entire film, it might make perfect sense, and might turn out to be very clever and effective indeed.
It’s WAY too early to start casting judgments on this film. I’m keeping an open mind for now.
Bill Nighy would totally kick but as Scrimgeour since he kicked A in Stormbreaker… I’m sure Dave wil be awesome and its just a matter of time til we get the other Carrow just hope its soon
the_twins_rock, I said I only imagined Greyback to look like him. I’m not saying that he should PLAY him – of course I know it’d be weird to have BCJ play Greyback?! Haha. :) I just imagined his look to be like him. [;
yes Saria well said NO casting judgements should be made at all I am overwhelmed that they are in it. Besides people already know how I am with posters just dismissing an actor cause their not what they pictured ahem-Helen McCrory( Narcissa to a tee)
Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow. The lake froze solid and the
Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrell around, bouncing off
