The article, which is continuously being updated, now states both Rupert and Alan have been “caught on camera in full make-up”. The paper reports “Two sets of crutches were also spotted arriving at the set – leading to speculation the scenes after Ron falls from his broom in a game of quidditch could be being filmed. It is believed filing will go on until 7pm tonight, and will be finished at the Cathedral by the end of tomorrow. ” You can see a photo of Alan Rickman as Snape here, as well as Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, here.

As always, anyone attending the filming, please send in your report and photos which we will post.
As we reported last week, location filming for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is set to begin today, with the Cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral closed now through February 8. Many cast members including Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) are due for this location filming. As such, This is Gloucestershire has launched a new contest for photos of the visiting stars, as the paper notes “Anyone who manages to capture a photo of one of the major cast members should submit a copy of the picture to us – and win themselves £20.” You can find more information about this contest here. In addition, the paper has also added a few new set preparation photos here. Be sure to see the HBP location photos readers have sent us previously here in our galleries, and as always, anyone who attends the filming over the next few days, please send in your reports and photos which we will post.

mollywobble, I meant no disrespect (I have a degree in communications, myself). However, I think you’ll agree there’s a huge difference between a photojournalist on assignment, and some yoyo with a camera disrupting the cast and crew. I was simply saying that the cast and crew of the HP movies has enough on their plate with people constantly trying to get unauthorized photos, that it seems to me encouraging more of that is unnecessary and disrespectful.

Sounds like an interesting competition. I live in a different part of England, so I can’t really enter. Oh well, at least I’ll be able to see everyone else’s pics.

im beccas friend, the one whos going to be an extra
firstly, weve all had to sign confidentiality aggreements so were not lowd to say nything
secondly, were not lowd mobiles on set, or indeed, once weve got out costumes on. were not lowd cameras of any sort
finally, i go to THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS there are 12 people from my school who are extras, and we would like to be aknowledges
:D

Holy cow! if I were an extra Alan Rickman would probably have to put a restraining order on me by the time filming was over. Id probably stalk the black sisters too. But unfortunately I live across the pond as well in little old Fargo ND. Nothing like the movie Fargo- garunteed!

Holly, I think you misunderstood. I said I agreed with you. =)
I'm a photojournalist, so I hate the paparazzi because they give a horrible perception of what a photographer is. Since the public hears about the paparazzi all the time, some think every photographer is part of the paparazzi or wants to be one. I still get asked if its my goal to become a paparazzi. I laugh, because to me, it's like asking me if I want to sell my soul to the devil. So yes, I am bothered that the newspaper wants kids to take pictures of celebrities for cash, and not much cash to start with.
Sorry if I confused you and made you feel bad.

The scenes they are filming at Gloucester are not scenes that Rupert and Tom are in. It does not mean they are missing from the picture. I believe it is scenes with only Dan, Emma and Maggie Smith in, this week.
The others appear elsewhere in the film so no one will be missed out. Don’t over react, people! :-)

I miss seeing all the set pictures and actors in costumes like we had for OOTP, maybe they are still coming but news and pics sure have been slim so hopefully whoever does this will get good shots of everyone and everything they can.

@BellaSnape I will really try to get some good pictures. I’ve been 7 times and want to go twice tomorrow and again on Friday. The caravans had arrived for the cast and crew now but I couldn’t see anything.
If I do get pictures, I was thinking of annoying This is Gloucestershire by giving them to Leaky and not them. If I did that, could they then take the pictures for themselves?

Hi again, Mollywobble! Not much of a communications major, am I? lol :P I realized after I posted what you meant. Sorry about misunderstanding! Thanks for being so nice about clearing that up. You didn’t make me feel bad – I made me feel bad (and a wee bit silly!). :P You’re very good natured to be able to laugh at those who would think you’d want to be a paparazzi! :) It is really sad people don’t make the distinction between them and photojournalists. Again, sorry for being a bit thick! Thanks for your patience! :) ~H.

I bet they’ve put Hermione into the scene where Dumbledore dies. I bet she even tries to single handingly save him herself ::rolls eyes::

Yeah, Luna, by jumping on a broom and catching him in mid air. :P

Movie!Hermione can probably fly without a broom because she’s so super special. And the last thing Dumbledore will say before he dies: “You’re the greast witch ever, Miss Granger.” And then she’ll smirk and… Kloves makes this way too easy.

Hmmmm…I wonder what scenes they’re filming that only involve Dan, Emma, Maggie, and Robbie??? Maybe the Hospital scene when after Ron is poisoned? Or maybe another scene. There are alot of scenes with just Harry and Hermoine or just Ron and Harry because Ron and Hermione don’t talk to each other for months in book 6. But whatever, I just can’t wait for the movie to come out and I hope people get some good pictures.

Thanks Becca. I just am really eager to see Snape, Bella and Cissy. And like I said its just really slow with the pics we havent had any good ones since the beginning.

Luna: LOL!
As for no Rupert, I can’t think of any movie scenes that involve those characters but not Ron. I would say they’re probably adding in one of those mooshy gooshy Harry and Hermione scenes they so love. We’ll see though. Hopefully not.

I’m going to strangle Steve Kloves if HBP turns into “The Harry and Hermione Show” under the premise that Ron is supposedly too busy with Lavender off-screen somewhere for half of the film, during which time we are supposed to pity fragile little Hermione. Urgh!

Why is it Rupert always seems to be left out even though it has been mentioned on his own Rupert Grint net that he will almost certainly be there he is a third of the trio and if Dan and Emma get amention why shouldn’t Rupert as I have already met Dan I would very much like the chance to see both Emma & Rupert especially as Gloucester is not too far from where I live.

Why are ya’ll making such a big deal out of the fact that they didn’t mention Rupert???! I mean seriously? YOu don’t know what scenes they’re filming. Obviously it’s not only going to be those 4 actors because they also cast like 175 extras! So who gives a damn if Rupert wasn’t listed, NOBODY! Maybe Sue just forgot to add his name when she wrote that. Rupert will probably be there and so will all the other actors like Matt Lewis and Bonnie Wright. And since when have there every been ANY mooshy Harry and Hermione moments in any of the movies. I sure as hell can’t think of any. All the flirting has always been between Ron and Hermoine and even if it wasn’t it’s not like it’s straying far from the book because unless some of you have forgotten, Ron actually thinks Harry and Hermione are more than friends too! Especially in book 6 and 7! So did Rita Skeeter in book 4 and Cho Chang in book 5. I think that was JKR’s whole point. It’s not just Kloves making stuff up.

I would suggest going very very early, like 6 am when they are setting up. And asking the crew what they are going to shoot that day. Sometimes they also shoot at night. If they need to close off streets or anything they must get permission from the chamber of commerce or whatever, and there should be signs like No Parking.
But the crew must know where and when everything is happening, and when taking a picture would be ok. And tell them it’s a contest and bring the paper with you. There’s a protocol on a movie set.
Extras usually aren’t allowed to take any pictures or bother the actors in any way.
