Two days ago we reported on a new photo and ad from the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film that was contained in Nick Magazine. Today, we can tell you the article was part of a special section in the magazine highlighting a new “Coming Attractions Sweepstakes” that Warner Bros is holding to win a trip to the premiere of the sixth Harry Potter film. According to the magazine, a US premiere of Half-Blood Prince will take place in Los Angeles, California. Open to legal residents of the US ages 6 to 14, one winner of the contest will fly to Hollywood and walk the red carpet at the premiere of the film in November. This contest will open March 21 and run through May 1, 2008. Additional rules and information on this contest is not yet online, however the entry form for the contest is seen via this link where children entering must provide their parents name and email. We will update when more information becomes available. Good luck to all who enter.
On a related note for those who collect these things, the special insert in the April 2008 Nick Magazine also includes a Harry Potter maze and a word fill-in section, asking questions relative to the events in the “After the Burial” chapter of HBP.
This is ridiculous, I’ve lived in the US my entire life, been a fan from the beginning, always dreamed of going to a premiere, and I turn fifteen and they bring out this. RIDICULOUS. I’m entering anyway, even if I have to lie about my age the whole way through. People say I look thirteen, oh well. I hate life.
Wait, let me cry first. Lol. I don’t live near LA! I live in a small town in Wisconsin! But hopefully I get to go? Ha. Doubt it. I`m so jealous of all of you who are going! :)
Don’t worry I don’t think this will be the only contest to attend the premiere. There’s always a sweepstakes for the entire world somewhere lol
Also to the UK people, I’m sure the turn out for the premiere there is a million times better than down here in LA. We just had a few of the stars attend last year for OOTP and I wanted to see more of them! I wish I saw Katie too since I wore the Ravenclaw Quidditch robe for her. Oh well.
For those who are planning camp out again this year, please let me know! I really want to get a huge group together including my HP Meetup group and some of my friends. We can have a block party or something! LOL
Yet again, those of us over the somehow magical age of 14 have been left out in the cold. I hope those little kids that shouldn’t be seeing a PG13 movie anyway but will because their parent think it would be neat, have nightmares.
You’d think they’d direct their promotions and ads to the kids that grew up with Harry Potter. It was my generation, the kids who were 8 and 9 when the books came to the US, who are now 17 and 18. Why do they keep trying to make the series for young children?! If this is a PG-13 film, they should keep that in mind for their contests.

Not cool, WB.
And anyways, WB didn’t exactly treat the fans well at the LA OOTP Premire last year. They need to make better plans this year, or else there are going to be some very pissed off West Coast fans.

Yet again, those of us over that somehow magical age of 14 have been left out in the cold. Yes I’m definetly bitter this time. I hope all those little kids that shouldn’t be seeing a PG13 movie anyway, but are because their parents think it would be neat to take them, have nightmares.
Chill out folks, it’s just a contest. I’m sure there will be others. Don’t wish bad on the little ones- HP fans are supposed to be a kind group of folks. ;) I hope the lucky kiddies have fun!
The rating system is NOT a law..It´s simply a guideline. Some 6 years old can easely watch a pg-13 rated movie with no problems and others can´t…It´s really up to the parents to decide wether their kids a “old” enough to watch the movie.
Only US citizens and that age limit!!! Grrrr!!! NOT FAIR!!!! The realt true fans are older, since they’ve read the books right from the beginning!!! :-(
"Harry," said Ron, giggling weakly, lurching forward, seizing the front of Harry's robes and gazing at him with unfocused eyes. "There you are... Ha ha ha... You look funny, Harry... You're all messed up..."[br]Ron's face was very white and something dark
