Two days ago we reported on a new photo and ad from the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film that was contained in Nick Magazine. Today, we can tell you the article was part of a special section in the magazine highlighting a new “Coming Attractions Sweepstakes” that Warner Bros is holding to win a trip to the premiere of the sixth Harry Potter film. According to the magazine, a US premiere of Half-Blood Prince will take place in Los Angeles, California. Open to legal residents of the US ages 6 to 14, one winner of the contest will fly to Hollywood and walk the red carpet at the premiere of the film in November. This contest will open March 21 and run through May 1, 2008. Additional rules and information on this contest is not yet online, however the entry form for the contest is seen via this link where children entering must provide their parents name and email. We will update when more information becomes available. Good luck to all who enter.

On a related note for those who collect these things, the special insert in the April 2008 Nick Magazine also includes a Harry Potter maze and a word fill-in section, asking questions relative to the events in the “After the Burial” chapter of HBP.

Yes! I am 13 and I just entered the contest! I doubt I will win but its worth a try. Even if I don’t win, I think I can still go cuz I live in LA. About the age limit to the contest, Nick is directed to kids not adults. Anyway, it gives me a better chance of winning. I hope I win. Pray for me guys!

I very much agree with Melanie. WB should be more conscientious about what age group they are inviting to participate in this contest. I am a longtime adult fan of the books and movies and my teenage daughter is a serious fan as well. I would no sooner have let her watch the movies from #3 on at the age of 6 or 7 years old! WB – revise your contest age bracket!

Actually, Amanda, I was there, too, and I was thinking about organizing the event for this year, because of all the drama from last year. Contact me, anyone who is interested. SUZanne913@aol.com

Good thing though i’m not from the US! Wonder if they ever thought about philippines? There’s a whole lot of harry potter fans out here. I felt bad with the others, everyone deserves to join the contest. Tsk.

Guess That Book

The creature slipped off the bed and bowed so low that the end of its long, thin nose touched the carpet. Harry noticed that it was wearing what looked like an old pillowcase, with rips for arm- and leg-holes.
