A new "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" set teaser report has surfaced online, this from a Chilean magazine Wikén, that features new comments from actor Dan Radcliffe, director David Yates and producer David Barron. Our order partner Dan Radcliffe.com now has the full translation of the article, which mentions filming for Slughorn's Christmas party where the new Potions Master holds "party in his room for a selected group of students. Slughorn walks from one group to another chatting with his guests, trying to gain his favourite students' favour."

The article describes the upcoming sixth Harry Potter film as such: "Against all expectations, the sixth installment of the saga will not be as dark as the previous one. In spite of the tragic end of Harry's mentor, Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), the movie actually revolves around the awkward and comical romance between Harry and Ginny Weasley, sister of Harry's best friend Ron (played by Bonnie Wright, who made her debut in the second installment).

Actor Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is quoted as saying "It's a complex story, it isn't a simple romance because Harry is such a close friend of Ron's, and Ginny is his sister, and Harry feels as if he's walking on eggshells". According to director David Yates, "the fifth [film] was pretty intense, but this one has more comedy in it (...) There are many subtleties in the relationship, and a lot of sexual and emotional tension."

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince continues in production in England, and will be released in theaters on November 21. Thanks to DanRadcliffe.com!

“Jim Broadbent, known by supporting roles in classic movies such as “Brazil and “Richard the Third”

Jim Broadbent is one of those actors that have been in many great films but I think he is better known for his performances in Moulin Rouge, the Bridget Jones movies and Iris (which he won an Oscar for).

He was so good in Moulin Rouge I didn’t even know it was him until I got home and looked up the cast. I’m so glad he’s in HBP.

I am really looking forward to this movie since it is mainly set at Hogwarts and it will be the last one like that. I can really understand why Harry thinks of it as home. So, you guys (yes, I’m a yankee from IL) think there will be a trailer next month or the month after??? I can hardly wait!!!! I loved the scene of the DA flying on the thestrals in the OOTP trailer. That scene definately made me anxious for the movie so I am curious on what the HBP trailer will be like.

Wow this is all so exciting!! I’m glad this film’s going to be less tense and more light-hearted than OotP. I seriously cannot wait for a teaser trailer – I hope remipau is right and there will be one as soon as next month =D

Oh that’s awesomely exciting!!!! I really doubt though that it will solely focus on the romance since there are so many other important things in there. Anyways, I love Harry and Ginny so I’m really looking forward to it, and I do think they set it up in OotP what with all Ginny’s looks at Harry and even Harry’s approving look when she does the ‘reducto’ ... there’s a lot more Harry/Ginny in the OotP movie than there is in the book, so I’m not worried at all about the set up for this movie.

And as for Draco, well of course his role in the book is tragic: he takes on far more than he can handle and suffers for it, but these movies are paring things down and focussing more on Harry and his story. They have to because of time constraints. But I’d say there’ll be plenty of Draco-ness to enjoy simply because Harry is so focussed on him in the main storyline. I trust WB and Yates and what they’ve done so far, so I expect that this one will be fine too :) And when you actually look at the books, HBP is much funnier and less dark than OotP so I’m not surprised people are saying that it’s a funnier movie.

Harry and Ginny is important because it is such a stark contrast to the loneliness of DH. HBP is the only book where Harry is blissfully happy at many points, but the undertones are so sinister that we know something bad is going to happen soon. From “Sectumsempra” on it’s like BOOM! Action!...

Honestly, Draco and Snape are the base of the whole PLOT, they wouldn’t change it that much. Stop worrying. They’ve already got a description of figurines too! Draco (in a SUIT) and Snape are together in a duo pack! Ginny has a broom! Ron and Harry are a duo in Quidditch robes! Obviously these are the main people in the story, and it seems like the most-needed plotlines haven’t been ruled out! :))

Its not a tragedy the whole way. Its quite light compared to OOTP. It has its dark moments (the second chapter, the necklace, the poisioning, sectum sempra and the cave/death scene come to mind).

But mostly its pretty tame fare…Harry isnt so much brooding this time as obsessive.

After re-watching several movies with Jim Broadbent - Moulin Rouge, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Hot Fuzz - I can’t WAIT for his debut as Slughorn!

I really think that he’ll be perfect . . . a great casting choice!

djm19- I guess so… But is Harry’s obsessiveness “light hearted”? (thinks) Actually, It is pretty funny when He’s taking out his frustrations on the door to the RoR… And when he hits on Girl!Goyle. lol. Okay, you have me partially sold on that… I just really want this film to be good. (with lots of frustrated!Draco) hehe.

I’ve read HBP more than any of the other books (it’s my favorite of the series), and I have to say… I can’t see what all the complaining is. The majority of the book is romance and comedy. The Pensieve stuff, the Malfoy stuff, and all of that is relatively small in the actual book. Harry obsesses over Draco, yes, but that’s not the whole book. Draco and Snape are actually seen VERY little in the book. They’re just working in the background or mentioned quite a bit. And the Voldemort background can be done pretty quickly, as it gets done with pretty fast in the book before DD sets Harry up to get the memory from Slughorn, which he keeps putting off due to girls and Draco, who he barely sees physically. So yeah… I can see why they’re focusing on the comedy/relationship stuff for a lot of the interviews, because it’s a HUGE chunk of this book. It’s actually not a very dark book (with a few key scene exceptions) until the very very end.

Nurlomum, do you really think there was more Harry/Ginny in the Ootp movie than the book? LOL I’d say the opposite is true! They cut most of Ginny’s moments from the movie version including most of her interaction with Harry. I’m excited to see Harry/Ginny actually interact in the movies! I think the last scene they had alone together in the films was in the Chamber in CoS!! Isn’t that insane? HBP can’t come quick enough for me!

Plus, people should not be worried about Draco and Snape. Remember Draco and Snape did some on-location filming at Gloucester Cathedral not too long ago? Lots of people believe they filmed the part where Harry eavesdrops on Snape/Draco talking in a corridor there which is supposed to take place during Slughorn’s Christmas party. Just because the media is focusing more on the romance doesn’t mean the romance is going to be the main focus. Though I do hope the romances get a decent focus because HBP was the shippiest of the books and I really loved those parts too! :)

Libby, you said it best!

I think they’re just promoting it like this. Remember how crazy reporters were over Harry having his first kiss in OOTP? Well, not only does he kiss in this one, he gets his first girlfriend (I don’t count Cho, particularly in the movie). Besides, I think I heard somewhere (could be wrong) that Ginny will be helping Harry spy on Draco. This will help the audience get to know her better and keep the Draco part of the story going.

But this means more Draco too. I mean, the Myrtle/Draco content was through the roof! Heck, Draco/Harry. Draco/Everyone in this book including Kreature. (can you tell how depraved I am in my Draco-worship?)

My God !

It should be very dark – we have the Voldemort back story, Draco’s descent into his dark role, attempted and then actual murder of Dumbledore.

Sorry -Have I missed something ?

You know, I don’t think I’m going to want to sit in a theater for 2 hours watching Harry and Ginny being awkward. Yeah, it was a subplot in the books but there could be a lot more interesting things from the book in this movie than LOLZ ROMANTIC COMEDY. Bad, BAD, move.

I wouldnt call Harry’s obsessiveness light hearted. Certainly its serious to him…but he doesnt put up too much of a fight even after his friends blow his ideas off. With DD he did get a little angry…IMO, they wont show Harry following draco’s movements too much. They might show him looking suspcious of draco, talking to others about draco, but not spend any time in serious pursuit.

Yes, We could be watching something more interesting, like Harry stalking Draco around the school (nods)
