Earlier we told you actor Rupert Grint was to appear on the Al Murray’s Happy Hour show tonight. That program has now aired in the UK, and thanks to our Order partner RupertGrint.net video of the interview is now online. In this funny interview, Rupert discusses his role as Ron Weasley and mentions he is playing Quidditch in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as well as briefly mentions the two part movies for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rupert also says he has read all the Harry Potter books, with other topics ranging from the audition process he used to get cast in the Harry Potter series, to his ice cream truck. What’s with all this issue about Rupert being shy? He is shy, and it shows. But that’s just him, and it’s adorable considering that he has millions of dollars and co-stars in a big-budget film series. It’s better that he has his feet firmly on the ground than to act like the whole world around him. The HP kids are all grounded and humble and they deal with this in different ways.

But, if you notice in his past interviews, he is beginning to talk more. This interview actually shows that he has more confidence now. Let the boy grow. We can’t expect him to be shy one moment then be all bubbly in the next. We seem to forget that they (HP Kids) are like any other kids. They go through phases.

Rups been on an Al Murray show before wasn’t he? He was in the audience at one of Murrays gigs and Al sent him out to the bar buy booze for a few people. He was underage at the time :-)

Well after going through all these comments,I have come to one conclusion….

That is there is no need to compare Dan And Rup Why I say this cuz Both are equally good actors in there own areas of acting

And to those who are commenting on Rupert’s shyness need to know one thing…. Shyness makes you much more cute and sweet ;)

And thats all i wanna say Adios Amigos

Ilia pretentious means oostentatious, showy, pompous ecetera. Kind of like how I sound right now. And having read through the comments I agree you did come across that way. The fact that you felt you needed to explain things to others supports this I’m afraid (the derogative comment). Or maybe you were just doing a Hermione. In which case feel free to carry on.

I don’t care what people say. Rupert is always my Favorite … I just keep watching HP movies because of him. RUPERTTTT… So fricken cute, hot, adorable, and down-to-earth! He’s so amazingly good-looking! My God! And the interview was hilarious! It’s now one of my Favorites!

I thought he came across as humble, a fantastic achievement considering what he has been through as he has gone through adolescence. He’s emerged as a likeable and easy going guy – go Rupert! And I like Dan and Emma too – to whoever said that anyone who didn’t find the interview boring had to be a rabid Rupert fanatic, that’s just not true, and it’s pretty self-important too. But anyway, I thought the interview was absolutely hilarious, a little diamond – thanks Leaky for bringing it to everyone’s attention!

Rupert is brilliant and i love it how he’s so humble and shy. The interview was hilarious but when al murray ripped the book in half i was like “WHAT” but then after i sorta saw the funny side to it.

i enjoy this interview very much and from what we’ve seen, the audiences love it too!! it is great that even if Rupert is shy, he’s natural in front of the camera and non HP fans who never bother to check out HP actors info would never know that he’s kinda shy. that’s what it takes for a good actors.

then again, comparing Rupert and Dan is SO unnecessary. they are different in person and obviously have different opinions in choosing their jobs. good for the fans!!!

RUPERT IS OUR KING!!!!! Oh my gosh he so gorgeous in this clip. I absolutely love him and cannot wait until he is able to branch out into other roles. I love that he is a bit shy and withdrawn, it makes him all the more attractive because it makes him seem like a real person.

I again can not say enough how great he looks. Too bad there is no where in the script that calls for him to be shirtless. ;-D

YEAH! I loved the interview (very funny). HOWEVER – I was a bit upset when he just threw the books aside, and him ending by ripping the book in half was just wrong! The thought of even one of the wonderful books being mistreated or destroyed in just, well, painful.

I thought the interview was very funny but I was shocked and a bit hurt when the interviewer ripped the book in half. Rupert was funny and actually said more than he usually does in an interview. I think he was great and very cute as always!

I can already hear John Noe making comments on Rupert’s ” Wand ” ...or maybe Sue, shes naughty sometimes too. lol

I kinda like the interview….But…gees…how many times can you say “YEAH” during a 10 minutes interview???

Maybe he was trying to get into Guiness book of world records

@doodle – how is it pretentious of me to clarify my reasoning behind my previous comments? And what gives YOU the right to say that I am being pretentious or ostentatious in anyway just for having an opinion and for explaining myself?

That was pretty funny. I hate it when interviewers haven’t read Harry Potter though. They ask all of these uninteresting or pointless questions. One of my favorites for example was when an interviewer asked Daniel if he was excited for when Harry and Hermione get together in the last book.

Jeez Ilia calm down. I read peoples comments and I commented on them, kind of what you do isnt? And every single person here has the right to say what they think, I wasnt being rude or nasty, in fact I think I said it in a very light hearted way. Im sorry but in my ‘opinion’ you came across that way. If you dont agree thats fine, its not a big deal. Personally I think Rupert is an incrediably talented actor whose popularity is in some part do to his shyness and modersty. And personally I’d much rather he remain that way.

I’d have to agree with Rupert’s choice of “Expelliarmus” to get rid of a mice infestation… as it was the first spell I thought of – but with a slightly different spelling – “Expelliar-mouse!”
