As we reported previously, actress Emma Watson was due to attend the Empire magazine awards tonight in London, England. Early photos of the actress at this event are now available here in our galleries. Update: Also present tonight were actress Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Katie Leung (Cho Chang), as well as actor Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) who presented the award for Best Film, Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron and actor Jim Broadbent (Prof. Slughorn in upcoming “Half-Blood Prince”). Additional photos can be seen here via WENN and Getty Images. UPDATE 2: Empire has now posted the entire list of winners, with David Yates taking the honors as Best Director for his work on “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” Congratulations David Yates!
UPDATE 3 There is video online, including brief interviews with Emma Watson and the always wonderful Jason Isaacs :) To watch, click here.
That’s probably because she IS smirking.
Quite cute, actually.
I think all the girls look great. It’s not a fashion magazine shoot, so naturally hair and clothing may be out of place or wrinkled (respectively) here and there.
I just wish Emma wouldn’t wear SO MUCH FOUNDATION. I don’t get why people wear foundation, particularly when they don’t need it. A bit of concealer where needed would look much better and more natural. Her lip color and eyes (even eyebrows) are perfect. I even like her hair. She usually has the side part helmet-head thing going (in real life but especially in the last movie…fire that hairdresser!), but in these pictures her hair style looks much softer and more natural.
sigh I don’t understand the ugly shoe style at all. A lovely, elegant dress with a clunky pair of gladiator sandals that cut off her legs, making them look short. And don’t get me started on the biker bracelet.
Katie’s outfit is perfect. The shoes are funky, but they go with the rest of the outfit! I just wish she’d brushed her hair.
Evanna looked darling till you get down to the Minnie Mouse shoes. I don’t get the light coloured shoes with the dark tights.
An advantage that Evanna has over the others is that she poses very well. Even when she stands naturally she looks good…very confident and happy.
Emma’s posture is still atrocious, and she comes off as annoyed in her facial expressions sometimes. Also, in the recent Vanity Fair mag appearance, she does this weird two-straight-arms stance thing while she’s laughing. She can look extremely awkward for someone who’s been in the public eye for quite a while already.
Katie usually looks cute, but in those pictures she looks like she just doesn’t want to be there.
It’s all quite entertaining in itself.
Well, the actors themselves praise David Yates and I have seen his work through the films and in interviews he looks quite humble and serene. I am very happy for him. I also wanted the others to be awarded, I thought that since the director was the best at least one of the actors would have been recognised.
