wolfie I only got bits of the Aunties’ handbook since elmo got his paws on it first, so I had to make do with the pages I could put back together. So if things seem a little off, that might be because the top half of page 29 is now glued to the bottom half of page 148. And for sure, he can come over!! :) Though he hasn’t been to Auntie asti’s in a while. . . :)

My DS and I did nothing fun today, just fought the carpet cleaner and we are still not done.
Tomorrow is the day we are going to go to the fossil dig. It is supposed to rain tonight but be clear by early morning. Then, the rest of the day is supposed to be partly cloudy and 72 degrees.
I hope nothing happens to keep us from going. Last year my DS’s back went out. (He’s at the chiropracter now.)
It is about a 2 hour drive away and we are to bring our own sunscreen, bug repellent, blankets, lawn chairs and picnic lunch. I am estatic to find they do have restroom facilities. They also have a dining hall where we can sit at a table and eat our lunches. It never occurred to me they would have restroom facilities, outside of a porta potty. Every other sort of dig we have been on has been sort of primative (a porta potty at best and sometimes just a bush). Running water and electricity make a happy woman out of me!!!!
The dig site is owned by the local museum system and they use it for educational conferences, etc. One day a year they have a dig day for museum members.
It is a dried creek bed that is what used to be the bottom of the ocean 70 million years ago. So, we are digging for the fossils of 70 million year old sea creatures.
I have to go pack the picnic before my DS gets back from the chiropracter. We have to get up so early I just want to drag it out of the refrigerator and throw it in the cooler. I don’t want to have to do anything.
I have made chicken salad for sandwiches. I’m going to make hummus and we can eat the hummus and the chicken salad on pita bread. I’ll probably take some apples and brie as well, chips or crisps too, and my daughter wants to make brownies.
When I made the chicken salad I made enough chicken to make chicken tortilla soup for tonight’s dinner. I’m serving it with saffron rice and a tossed salad. The soup is being finished with slices of avacado and grated cheese.
Okay, enough talking about it. I’ve got to go do it.

ladyhawke enjoy the dig… I have been trying to find one to take my niece to in the UK. She is in the Gifted and Talented stream at school and as a reward they were allowed to choose to do an out of school activity. She chose to go on a dig and submitted the paperwork, but the school forgot to post it and the activity was really popular and by the time she found out that the school had not posted her application it was too late and it was fully booked, she was so dissappointed that I promised to take her on one -but havent had chance to organise anything yet.
Huff I am going to be the best dressed patient in St Mungos once i put on my lemon chanelling tiara – its silver and encrusted with diamonds and rubies
omg guys i just got my act scores back and i got a 28!!! this is kind of random, but i am really proud of myself! also, i originally thought SVA should win, but then read the court papers and found out that he did not cite, so now i think that he should put in his citations and then publish the book so everyones happy!

ladyHawke I am taking my sister on holiday to Barcelona (its a late birthday present). We have 5 nights in total so we think we are going to spend a couple of days in Barcelona and then maybe head out to the mountains.

Okay, I’m back… I loved the clips! Having seen them, I’d have to say that Robert Pattison does make a good vampire, but I’m still not sure if he’s Edward to me. I’m still trying to reserve judgment. Interestingly, in the one clip where I heard him speak in character, it seems he’s doing an American accent. Since I read the books after learning that he was playing the role, I’ve always pictured Edward with a British accent, LOL! I know the character’s American, but since he was born in different time, and sometimes seems quaint and old-fashioned, I think the accent could have worked! ;)
Lady Hawke, the dig sounds like so much fun! I would love to do something like that. It’ll be nice for you to get out and enjoy yourself. I can’t wait to hear about it!

Wow, I didn’t think I’d see the day, but I’ve finally caught up at CC. I must make sure never to fall that far behind again! I still have to go back and respond to some messages; for now I was just plowing my way through to be sure I’d read everything. And I’m down to about a dozen regular emails to respond to – so if anyone’s been waiting to hear back from me, it should be coming this weekend! ;)
And now I’m going to go read…I’m loving North & South. It makes me want to watch the movie again!
One more thing (I’m breaking my rule about leaving as soon as I post my goodbye message, LOL)...I just read the news post about the We Are Wizards documentary playing in Boston tomorrow, with the Wizard Rock concert afterwards, and it sounds like fun, so I’m going to go! I am caught up to this point, but i cannot stay to play. ;)
I need to do laundry, wash dishes, pay bills, decide what I’m packing and of course actually pack.
DS is asleep and has to work tomorrow. It’s a half day for him.
Then when he gets home, we will finish loading the car and get on the road, I hope by 2:00 or 2:30. There is road construction between here and the Alabama border and there will be extra traffic in Alabama, since I-20 goes right past Talladega and this is a big race weekend there.
After we drop the hound in Birmingham, we’ll drive for a few more hours and stop for the night. Then drive the rest of the way on Sunday.
I am just procrastinating, now. I’ll see you all tomorrow, I hope, if the hotel has wi-fi.
Our hotel in OK has internet access and I hope it’s wi-fi in the rooms. I know it’s wi-fi in the public areas. ;)
Goodnight and I am out for the night, unless I find a few minutes or just collaps in exhaustion. I don’t plan to sleep until we are on the road tomorrow. ;)

Just had a huge earthquake here. Just checking in to let you know I am okay if you see the news. Everything in the house has either fallen or broken, windows, vases, pictures, lamps, grandfather clocks, tv’s, and refrigerators etc. We will be cleaning up for days here. I am going to be going to a hotel to stay somewhere safe for now. I will check in when I can. I will have Twin1 update you. There are a lot of aftershocks, so we are hightailing it out of here.
