forgetmenot there was an article about the trailer being in front of Prince Caspian possibly, but it was just a rumor. It could happen but since that is Disney and Speed Racer is WB, my money is on Speed Racer (plus that one comes out sooner, so my hopes are on it, too! LOL) The news page is getting so nasty with the trial stuff, we really need something fun and positive to discuss ad nauseum and HBP fits the bill. I wish they would hurry up already!
Hi, Cordelia! A posterior birth is when the baby is born facing up as she comes out with the back of their heads towards the mothers’ spines. It causes what is commonly referred to as “back labor” because the bony part of the baby’s skull is so close to the mother’s spine and causes an extreme amount of pain and discomfort during labor. Back labor is a bone pain, so it is not alleviated by pain medication the way normal labor pains are. For example, I had an epidural and he gave me so much medication they should have been able to do a c-section but I could still feel it all. It is also associated with longer, slower labors and often requires the use of forceps or vacuum to assist in the birth. (I had both.)

Where is Twin2, somewhere in or near IL? I just checked www.usgs.gov. The biggest thing they show there in the last day in an aftershock in IL. But it sounds like what Twin2 experienced was really big, or her house sat on the epicenter of something smaller. Whatever happened to her was about 2 hours ago so it should be coming up on news searches by now.

I think Twin 2 is in Reno, Nevada. They just had a 4.7 with a whole flock of aftershocks. And the article said they had had a swarm of more than a 100 small quakes, some above 4.0, but most around 2.0 on Thursday, followed by this comparatively bigger one on Friday about 11 pm, and also about 50 aftershocks with this one. Twin 2 and Twin 1, hope you and all your family are safe!

Good morning again. I have been reading Twilight so have not gone to bed yet (I am not in love with it yet, but I am trying to reserve judgement. My HP is calling to me from upstairs….) :) and here I see lots of people who are already up for the day! Except you, LunaAloha since you are behind me time wise. Still, its getting late for you, isn’t it? Where did you find the info about the earthquake for Twin2? All I have been able to find is info on the one they had Thursday, but nothing for late Friday/early Saturday and I have been surfing and channel flipping on and off ever since I read her post.
LadyHawke, Twin2 is in Reno. I can’t believe the news has not picked it up yet, an earthquake big enough to break basically everything in her house is HUGE. I have been through some pretty big earthquakes but we have never had the kind of damage she is talking about. Unless the epicenter was right below her feet it seems like it has to be bigger than a 4.7, that is nothing. I think the one that knocked me off my feet was around a 6, but the epicenter was not that close, which is why we probably didn’t have much damage.
Anyway, I am still looking for info, I am very frustrated with the news services right now! But I hope you have a great time on your dig, are you getting ready to leave? have a great time and a safe trip!
HA! Finally found a news article on the earthquake, it was completely buried and mixed into other news. So they are saying it was indeed a 4.7 as LunaAloha mentioned, and that the epicenter was 6 miles outside Reno, which would explain the severity of the results as Twin2 experienced. This is the largest quake since the swarm started in February and mildly raises the risk of an even bigger one in the general vicinity. I hope you guys stay safe T2!

Hi Ella! It is really hard to compare the book and movie, but I’m actually surprised at how much I am enjoying the book. I thought I’d be predisposed to not care for it after how much I loved the movie. But there are actually a lot of details in the book that I do love (such as getting to learn what Thornton’s thinking – though I will say that Richard does a great job of showing it in his expressions – but it’s great to see it plainly laid out in words). There are some things that I prefer about the movie (Mrs. Hale is one of them – I find her utterly annoying in the book!), but overall, the movie really is quite a faithful adaptation of the book. I’ll email with a more detailed review once I’ve finished! :)

Graymayne, I completely agree with you about the writers in the articles about the trial. I get so frustrated when I think that this is the representation the public is getting of what is happening. Yes, thank goodness for Melissa and Leaky; I just wish their coverage could reach a wider audience than the fandom. The general public is primarily going to see articles like these, from people who are completely missing the point, or – in some cases – getting the facts wrong altogether. And Card’s comments are just uncalled for. Having an opinion is one thing…name calling is unnecessary! Just had to get that off my chest. I’ve avoided commenting on the news posts because the discussions there tend to get too heated and I wind up feeling quite inarticulate in my anger!
I think they just went about it the wrong way. I like what one site (I think it was a blog on MSNBC) said, in which they talked about the idea that Steve and RDR should have gone to Jo or Jo’s people and gotten permission to do this. Because from what Jo’s said about the encyclopedia this isn’t what she had in mind, hers was going to be more like an appendix (like the ones at the end of LotR). I may not agree with what Steve and friends said but I think what they were doing wasn’t bad, just they way they did it was.
I somewhat agree with you , Alden. I think the use of title ‘Encyclopedia’ by Steve when Jo said she was going to write one was really low and upsetting for Jo more than anything. Also she’s not happy about quality of Steve’s work, so because of it I don’t think she would have approved Steve’s book

Well today is going to be about 83, unfortunately for my apartment complex, the AC will not be turned on until May 15th, and it is really stuffy in here!!! I went down to spend the day with my sister yesterday, my daughter went also, my niece and brother-in-Law were there also, The Morphine she is taking is helping her alot with the pain, and she was in good spirits about everything. Sorry I have been absent for so long girls and guys, but I have been royally miffed with the owners of this website and JK Rowling for months now, ever since the stupid trial that ruined everything for the fandom. That is my opinion of course and I voted that RDR should win. Lexicons and other source materials are perfectly legal. This is nothing more than an attempt to control every aspect of Harry Potter and I am sorry, but once it is published, JKR and WB need to step back and shut up. Anyways, miss you all but I will not support this site for it’s biased support of JKR. I may eventually post again and I continue to follow all your stories, but JK has severely disappointed me and so has Leaky for kowtowing to her.
Hello everyone. I am safe and back cleaning up. They say it was a 4.9, but that was no 4.9. I have been in those when I lived on the San Andreas fault line. This was unlike anything I have experienced before. I think they are minimizing the magnitude because they are building like crazy in my area and do not want to hinder their home sales and tourism. It knocked me down and it lasted for about 30 seconds. I went around the house and the outside seems okay no gas leaks. Our hot water heater was damaged. We have no hot water and I am trying to fix that. My mom and little one was so freaked out they do not want to live here anymore so we are looking for a new place to live that should be earthquake free. Twin1 lives about 20 miles from me. She felt it, but she sustained no damage. The epicenter was at my house and it had almost a 0 depth, which causes maximum damage. This is from a site where it shows the real magnitude it was (this is the zip code 89523 6.4)

Twin2 thanks for the update! Glad that Twin1 is doing ok. 6.4 makes a lot more sense than 4.7. I haven’t been in earthquakes personally, but when I see damage on TV that involves things falling down from shelves, and people falling down, I think of 5.5 at least. In any case, I hope the hot water comes back soon, and I’m glad you’re careful about the natural gas. I think that scares me the most. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}

If it makes you feel better, I fell asleep around 9pm last night (sooooooooo tired!!!) so that’s why I woke at 3am, and being the Good Little Leaky Addict that I am, checked in. Then I went back to sleep from 4-9am today, so I am actually quite well rested. :) I had never heard of Back Labor, but now my limbs are as tightly knotted as Hermione’s were when Ron returned. I used to live in the Mountain Time Zone, and when I moved, that was really when I realized that the Mtn and Pacific time zones get things on tape delay, except for the really large events like Presidential addresses, the Super Bowl, the Oscars, and other large sporting events like the football playoffs. I think even this year’s Olympics will be tape delayed for you all so that it falls in prime-time in your time zone.

In fact, for the Olympics this summer, all of the US will be on tape delay since China is something like 13 hours ahead of the east coast. UGH!!! Though I don’t mind it so much for the summer games. But when Nagano, Japan had the Winter Olympics and we were on tenterhooks about the figure skating (well I was, anyhow, LOL!), having to avoid the internet and radio all day long drove me NUTS!!!!
So I empathize. That is also why we are careful about talking about various TV shows on here as they are broadcast; for example, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars results. :)

My strategy on American Idol, I was very very upset that Carly Smithson was voted off American Idol, I thought a beautiful and talented Irish Lady singer, was the twist American Idol needed. I voted 435 times for her this past week, and I still did not manage to keep her from being voted off, all I can say PotterBoy, is I tried my best. I have now come to the conclusion that American Idol wants a male singer to win this year!!!! and I think the last two standing will be David Archuletta 17, and David Cook 25, will be the last two standing. I do not know which one will win, they are both very talented, may the best man win!!!!!
