It’s at the top of the screen by the ‘home’, search, favorite buttons

E.S. and POTTERBOY; thanks!!!, Always wondered what that was for. being new at computers I am terrified hitting the wrong button. My coumputer friends hav had to bail me out more than once.

My screen doesnt have refresh buttons or anything occasionally it does have a URL box
i use refresh.

Err.. should say I use F5…
be sure to only use F5 after everything is finished loading, or it could lead to splinching…
aka double, triple or ever quadruple posting.

I have returned to find it… empty. Hmm. Where is everyone???? sigh Oh, well, I will find you later I hope. :)
I have shopped victoriously on eBay! Sniped my two auctions in your honor, asti LOL. I got a fantastic deal on a white satin double lined and hooded cloak. I will probably never be able to wear it outside because one brush with anything and it will be filthy and destroyed, but for $26 I couldn’t resist it (it normally sells for $60 and up!) I need to find some dress up events that are indoors. A Civil War ball would work if we had them here. LadyHawke I definitely need to come down for a visit. Of course, my Civil War gown would not go with the white cloak, it goes with my black one. Well, I guess I will just have to get a new gown to go with the new cloak! LOL
But not now. Now I am broke again, as I also scored my son’s AWESOME dragon mask! He is going to be SO happy! It is really cool. Now I just have to figure out the body part. I have a line on the claws (gloves that will fit over his hands) and wings already, but I don’t know what to have him wear or how to wrangle the tail. This will take some thinking about. I wish I knew how to sew. My MIL does, but not that well and I can’t really ask her for stuff like that. My Mom only knows how to hem stuff. And even that is an all day project, LOL. We are so inept. Anyway…
BWJen I’m so glad you had such a great time at the documentary and concert, but I’m completely jealous. sigh Nothing cool like that happens out here. You would think with Seattle that we would get cool fun stuff to do, but no. We hardly even have ANY ren faires and stuff here, but CA has billions, I swear. I feel a pout coming on. :(~ I can’t wait to see your pictures!
asti that is quite a garden! My Grandpa used to garden like that, he was famous for it. He even won an award at their local fair one year for the largest squash ever, it was enormous. And forgetmenot that is pretty impressive for a smaller space, you really have a lot going in there.
It gives me hope that your son is the same way about reading, asti, because I read to mine when he was a baby and on up, too. I am ALWAYS reading something and talking about books and my girls are the same way, and we talk about them as a family all the time, too. I think he just takes after my DS who did not really get into reading until I forced him into it when we met. My son will have a jump start on that though… I have known HIM all his life, LOL! I am trying not to badger him about it as I do not want it to become an :issue” or something he will stay away from just because I harp on him about it, it is a fine line. I know if he just could really get his teeth into a good book he would be hooked, that is why I keep trying to get him to read HP. He is waffling about me reading it to him right now, I am going to be pushing my advantage (gently and as sneakily as possible!)
Ironsos those are some creative names for your pets, LOL. I love “Lunch” for a rabbit, that is too funny. Our bunnies were Butterscotch (a white and butterscotch colored Dutch bunny) and Hopscotch (a white and black Dutch bunny.) We had a Napoleon and Josephine (love birds), and Arpeggio (canary), a Sundance (black lab) and of course the requisite Molly (golden retriever.) My Beagle is named Sylvie and the ones I grew up with were Buffy and Princess. Our grey and white cat is named Ansel after Ansel Adams. (My DS is a photographer and loves to talk on and on and ON about grey scale…) My Grandparents had weimereiners (I know that is not spelled right, but I never can remember the correct way!) named Cassell, Catrina and Zelda.
Huff I hope you have/had a great time at dinner with your friends, what fun. :)
My Boy Jack is about to begin, YAY! I will finally get to see it!!!! BBL!

Ooops, well there you all are, LOL. Sorry, I was typing when you all must have shown up, but I have to run now, see you all later!~

BYE BYE e.s,
HEADMISTRESS LEMONFAIRE: Impressive list of Pets.

HEADMISTRESS LEMONFAIRE: I forgot to mention Ansel Adams is a favorite of mine. Have a few that were taken from a calendar and framed hanging in my living room. Rose on Driftwood is my favorite.

HEADMISTRESS LEMONFAFIRE when I said head faster than fingers I did NOT mean you. This was a case of very bad timing. It was about my 6:55p.m. post.

That is a TERRIBLE MOVIE!!!! Why, oh, why did I want to see it so badly? LemonPrincess and I have been dissolved in tears for half an hour. What a horribly tragic story. The only thing that saved it for me was the behind the scenes afterward and getting to see Dan. LemonDrop is rolling her eyes at us both (she is not my sentimental one) but LP and I will take awhile to recover. :(
Laura good to see you and Herbert! How were your travels? I have missed you!!
Ironsos LOL I didn’t think you meant me there, no worries! My DSs favorite Ansel Adams prints are the ones from Yosemite, but he loves them all. He has studied his work, his life, everything. He is my DSs hero. :) Hope you enjoyed your dinner!
Ella are you going back to your Snape avatar? I don’t see it yet either.
I am still sniffling away, but LP is looking at faerie costumes online to distract us both and has some to show me, so I will BBL when I am NOT crying my eyes out! sniff

Hi Lemon. Travels were pretty good – some ups and downs. Hope the costumes cheer you up!
Hi, PB.
I see Snape, too, but I had to clear my cache.

waddling in, stuffed to the gills
Hi Everyone!!!
I had a very nice time at dinner. It was interesting the way they set up this restaurant. Basically it was a giant buffet of fresh meats and veggies, and you took a bowl and filled it with whatever you wanted. Then you took a smaller bowl and mixed your own sauce (that could get interesting!!!) and then they stir-fried it right there, nice and fresh!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Mine was just spicy enough. :) Deeeeelicious. I also had prickly pear lemonade. . . . no one I was with drinks so I couldn’t bring myself to get the margarita. I imagine that it would have gone quite well with my bowl!! Oh well. The lemonade was good but rather sweet.
And then we went for dessert . . . good ol’ cookies and cream! :)
Laura great to see you and that the travels were generally good. :)
ES I see Snape too, after the oh-so-handy ctrl F5!!
PB nothing like the quadruple post! I still remember someone splinching themselves 8 ways during the last poll! Ow!
Ironsos sorry I missed you, but it’s nice to see your beagle! Do you have a name for him?
I am having a virtual prickly pear margarita now, since I would explode if I had anything of substance. :)

Hi Huff! I had a real prickly pear margarita last Wednesday night. Yummy! I’ll join you tonight with a virtual one!

Lemon I hope your eyes are dry after seeing My Boy Jack. :( It is really sad, but so real, too. Hope LP is doing ok, too!!!
Glad you found something on Ebay, though. :) Before you describe yourself as “inept” at sewing, think of me, who feels a rush of accomplishment for fixing a button. ;)
Ironsos and Lemon I love Ansel Adams too. I have photos everywhere! I am so glad the digital cameras have come out so I can take bazillions of pictures. Though there is just something about a “real” camera though, isn’t there? I never got the hang of anything beyond a tourist-level camera (minimal knobs and dials) but still managed to get some nice pictures. :)
Laura here’s a prickly pear margarita for ya! Mmmm!
Mistic Willow hello and goodnight, hope you have a good Monday!!
Did I actually type “Monday” following “good”?? My 3.6 brain cells must still be on post-engorgement mode.

Oop, no, I have been informed that I am officially down to 1.7 brain cells. Bummer.

Oh my freaking god… its 78 degrees in my house…. super hot.. i like it around 68

Hi everyone
This is a new avatar. Well not my normal one. Too bad you can’t see it full size. I have posted it at CC so you can actually see it. Here I have to split it up.

Here is the other half. Lol. It is a picture of some of the avatars having a night out at a London Pub. I couldn’t get this picture out of my head ever since Laura and Wolfie were discussing a get together at a pub. Lol

CoolG! That is too cute! I love it! And MM will be happy to see that Herbert is snuggling with her!

CoolG That is so cute!! Very creative! Bug is thrilled to be part of the crowd! And with her drink too. . . is that an amaretto sour???? :)

Why so sad, PB?
Huff, it looks more like Bug is drinking a Captain & Coke.

Ironsos, My dog is a greyhound, so Lunch is an appropriate name for a rabbit, in his opinion. ;)
I once had a cat named Bowser, so I enjoy your sense of humor. ;)
Nutella is a nut butter, like peanut butter. But it is made from hazelnuts and then they add cocoa to it. So it is chocolet hazelnut butter. And absolutely delicious and decadent tasting.
I don’t know what grocery stores you have in SLC, but my Kroger, Publix and Wal-Mart all carry it in the same aisle as the peanut butter. ;)
The DS has been snoring away for over two hours and I suppose I should get to bed, too. ;)
The hotel has wired internet in the rooms, but wi-fi in the lobby and other public spaces. I do get a wireless signal in the room, but it is very weak. ;)
When we started losing the radio station in the car, I plugged in my iPod. DS is now hooked on the idea of buying an iPod for himself. He had better buy it himself, I bought mine by saving up from my pocket money and I refuse to let him use the householdmoney for his.
Actually, his birthday is next Sunday and I may get one for him as a birthday present. Shhhh…don’t tell him. ;)
I really do need to get some sleep. ;)
Goodnight everyone. ;)
Bbt. ;)

Oh, there he is! I see Snape now, I forgot about the refresh thingy. :) I have missed his greasy mug. :) Hiya Ella!!
Huff I’m glad you had a great time at dinner, it sounds yummy. I haven’t heard of any restaurants quite like that. You can fix a button???? Wow. That would give me a rush, too, LOL. LP and I are finally doing much better. Well, she is sleeping, LOL, but I am Ok now. It was just so SO sad. :( Dan did a really good job, though, I think.
Laura glad your trip went well, but it is nice to have you back! :)
PB 68 is the prefect indoor temp! I get crankier and crankier with each degree it increases over that. Do you guys not have A/C? We don’t, and I spend all summer complaining about it at the top of my lungs every year. This is the first home I have EVER lived in with no A/C. We bought this house brand new, when it was still being built, and could not believe it when they told us A/C was an upgrade (which we could not afford.) Everyone told us, “Oh, well, you know this is Washington, you don’t really need it here. There’s only about two months out of the year that you’d use it, so it’s just a waste.” I have news for all those people. Those two months are the same two months everyone else in the entire flipping world needs A/C! They’re called SUMMER!!! But you’re in CA, I can’t imagine any homes in CA without it. You have my deepest and most sincere sympathies!
Deanie glad you are moving along safely on your travels. I LOVE having my iPod playing in the car, the little converter thingy was the best money I have spent in a long time (and that may even include what I have spent on costumes! I know! That’s serious! LOL) I haven’t heard the same song twice in months. :)
CoolG I saw your pic posted on CC before I came here and saw it as your avatar, I just love it! That was so clever. I have tried to download it to save but I don’t think I am doing it right. You did such a good job on it!
The DS is home now for one day, then leaves again Tuesday and won’t be home until Friday. I think I will be watching lots of HP all week. :) Even though he is home now I think I am going to get a jump on it and slide OoTP in right now. Or, no, I better get to Twilight, I know LemonPrincess is expecting me to finish it by tomorrow. sigh
See you all tomorrow, have a great night! XOXOXOX

Lemon
We have A/C, but my grandpa’s wife just doesn’t like to use it much… So on a 90 degree day, where inside its 78 degrees, guess what? I’m a very sad panda.
One day, I was working out for a few hours and it was bloody hot here, inside and out. I was home alone, only wearing a tank top and basketball shorts… sweating like crazy from working out. Guess what I do? I turn on the air conditioner. Yippy skippy, i get it down to 68 degrees that day. My grandpa’s wife gets home and starts yelling and complaining about how its cold in the house and i shouldn’t have turned the air conditioner on.
Since that day, no matter how hot it is in the house, i don’t touch the air conditioner. So that means its been about… two weeks, maybe three, of torture. Bleh icky.

Good Morning Everybody & Leaky!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY MONDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVELY WEATHER FOR DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all!
I just couldn’t shake off my sleepy stupor yesterday, even after a couple of cups of coffee, so I had a very lazy day and didn’t make it back here.
Now it’s off to work I go. I think I’m going out for a belated b-day dinner with a friend tonight, but I should be able to stop in after that. Have a good day everyone!

Morning all! Showers for the next three days, still that is what April is known for. It is warmer though.
LemonFaerie I recommend that you always read a synopsis before you expose yourself to a film so that you are better prepared for tragedy. No film that involves WWI could ever be without pain and misery, the loss of life was just unbelievable.
Ironsos You are doing really well, and this is a good place to learn:)
PB At 68 degrees I would be switching on the electric fire! My DS lived in Canada for five years and I learned from him that the recommended temperature difference between the outside temperature and the A/C controlled public buildings was set at 10 degrees. Has there been a change in practise since the early 1960’s? I know that there is one supermarket I hate going to during hot weather because their A/C is set too low for comfort especially in the area of the chiller cabinets. Bbl

Okay, well, I’ve only sort of caught up to the top of this page. I don’t know how much of a chance I’ll have to catch up or post for the next couple of days. We’re back to two days of doctor’s appointments, my mother today, and my father tomorrow.
The good news this weekend was that I went through the entire weekend without running any errands for my parents at all.
I realize that must sound pretty nasty but I hope you guys who know my recent circumstances will understand what a relief that was.
I may be back if I get a minute but if I don’t reappear I am buried under my chauffering duties.

Good morning! busy busy busy!!
Have a nice day everyone!
BBL!!

Graymayne,
I am back for a moment and I must say I have never heard of the idea that the difference between outside temperature and inside temperature should only be 10 degrees.
The recommended inside temperature year round is generally held to be between 68 and 72. In the winter they try to get you to keep it down to 68 and wear a sweater and socks and in the summer they want you to keep it at 72 degrees. I’m sure the purists would like you to keep it even lower in the winter and higher in the summer, but even then by only a couple of more degrees either direction.
In the summer here it can be over 90 degrees for weeks at a time. It can be close to or over 100 for days or weeks at a time. Using the 10 degree difference formula we could be stuck with inside temperatures of 80 to 90 degrees or more for large chunks of the summer.
I simply can’t do heavy housework if the temperature inside creeps up much above 72 degrees.
It doesn’t bother my DS at all. This weekend it was up to 81 degrees inside and we were cleaning carpet and I realized it was actually cooler outside. I actually suggested we open the windows. He didn’t feel it mattered. He was okay.
Lemon I’m sorry you were traumatized by MY BOY JACK. It never occurred to me, especially after you saw the last few minutes last week, that you wouldn’t be prepared for it NOT to be fun and frolics. I was more focused on how well Dan was doing with it. I hope they allow him to work out the full gravity of his imminent death in DH,Part II.
Well, I am off to chauffer to the hospital now. My mother is having an MRI on her back and she has been given drugs to take before she arrives so that, with luck, she can lie down. They tried it two weeks ago and the pain was so bad she couldn’t lie down to let them do the test. I just hope that if the medicine makes her loopy enough to do the test I can get her out of there and get her home.

Wotcher Ya’ll
I watched OoTP again last night – I must admit that it was more cohesive this time around, but it still leaves so much out and so much that figures in the next books. Were was the 2 way mirror, Ginny’s dating others and Harry’s jealousy. Harry & clo’s botched date. Mundingous??? I really dread (for the first time ever) the movie version of HBP, thankfully Steve Klovis is back writing the screen play but it is still going to be Yates’ bitcher job. End of rant.
hope you all are well, bb if I can, trying to catch up 5 pages worth

Good Morning Everyone!! How was everyone’s weekend?
