DS gets weird about me spending very much time here while we are on vacation. So I can’t stay and play. ;)
We finally saw our land today and finally met the woman who sold it to us. She is about what I expected.
The land is covered with woods, a real forest! True the tallest trees are only about 15 or 20 feet tall, but they are fully mature. Mostly oak trees and a few cedars. Of course scrub grass and a few scrubby bushes. But it is over 3 acres and it is ours! ;)

Hello, all. Had a nice lunch with the DS down by the marina, and took a walk along the boardwalk after, before he had to get back to work. It was a BEAUTIFUL day here! When it rains as often as it does here, the nice ones sure do stand out. We picked out some houseboats we wouldn’t mind owning if we ever win the lottery and saw one broken down, dilapidated, rusty, crusty mess of a boat named…. the Bellatrix! I had to laugh, although by the looks of it, it was named many eons before our dastardly Death Eater.
asti i am sorry to hear about the game, I hope your DS and son are recovered by now. :( I am sure the brandy filled footballs were helpful! LOL That Won_Two, he is so considerate. And crafty. :)

Ironsos never fear, I was really kidding, we talk football whenever, wherever, LOL. Besides, I am the Headmistress, what are they gonna do? haha Seriously, they are all so nice, they indulge our little obsessions. You will not like this, being that you are a Saints fan, but my DS and I drove from WA to Green Bay for the Packers game against the Saints at Lambeau in 2005. That was the first of only four games that the Packers won that season, but we slaughtered those Saints, 52 to 3. :) It was a lovely day. :) :) :) Sorry. It was 4000 miles round trip and worth every single second! I don’t really follow college ball, but my favorite teams would be UCLA and whoever is playing USC. Oh, and the Wisconsin Badgers, of course. In the NFL there are only two teams I truly despise, and they are unfortunate favorites of several of my favorite people here. I have been trying to cure them , but they are set in their ways. (In case you haven’t guess, that would be the Cowboys and the Broncos.) I am the ultimate Packers fan, but I also like some other teams well enough when they are not playing my beloved Packers.
As for the games, speed is not necessarily an asset, so don’t let that stop you. I post very quickly sometimes but post too fast for my brain and end up either putting in the wrong thing (the first thing that pops into my head) or an incomplete answer because I didn’t take the time to read the whole question! That being said, Gryffindor is of course in the lead, LOL. (Sorry, guys, you know I HAVE to put that in there. :) ) But I am sure Hufflepuff would be delighted to put you on their roster, they tend to play shorthanded a lot due to members schedules and Hufflebug when she moderates games for us instead of playing.
Sirius the quarterback I was talking about, that the Packers drafted, is Brian Brohm, a rookie out of Louisville. He’ll be #2, behind Rodgers, and has some pretty impressive numbers coming out of college. Shoudl be interesting. :)

Saria I second LadyHawke’s motion, if it looks like fun here that is because it IS! Come and join us, we are always happy to welcome friendly new people to our little corner. You can read back a bit to get a sense of us or just jump right in and introduce yourself, whatever you’re comfortable with! I hope you’ll come back and hang out. We talk about all sorts of things, as you can see, but we do always go back to HP, our reason for being. :)

Hey, do we have any members in Virginia??? I just saw a news item that there were three tornadoes that touched down and like 200 injuries! I need to print out our member list, I keep forgetting and then I can’t remember where to check. CoolG or Ella would you mind posting that again? That reminds me, along with needing everyone’s locations again, we should do a master list of everyone’s Houses and Castle positions. There was some movement in staffing that I failed to keep up with, um, I mean… that Beast ate the records of last time he broke into my office, and I need an updated list. :) Ella and CoolG would either or both of you be interested in assistant positions for record keeping, seeing as how you do it already? We could make it official and make sure you are recognized for your hard work by the MoM. You could claim your benefits properly that way and I believe on top of health coverage at St Mungo’s they would also include broom insurance and a policy for your Harley, CoolG. That could come in handy in case you ever had need of a Muggle hospital, as I do not believe St Mungo’s is familiar with motorcycle injuries. Just something to consider! :)

It’s not even a football season yet, and you’re talking about football – or shall I say `so-called American football` already? Shish… Speaking of football, I’m so disappointed that CBC is not showing Western conference games now when Calgary is out. Habs are still in, so they are showing Eastern games, but by the time I get home they finished plus I don’t care much about Eastern teams anyway. I have only basic cable, so I have to drink my beer without hockey sigh...

Sirius – about OOTPH movie – I still can’t make up my mind. In GOF, for example, there were scene that just rubbed me the wrong way – like in the Gryffindor common room with the egg, or ferret in the pant, or Mourning Myrtle in the bathroom – you can almost see note `insert cheesy immature joke here` in the script; but there was plenty of excitement and great scenes in it too. I like how they did Quidditch, and the labyrinth for the last task, and the scene with V was great. In OofPH nothing wrong specifically (although I don’t know how they going to do without two-way mirrors), but there wasn’t much excitement either…overall I’m kinda disappointed, but can’t quite put my finger on what’s wrong…
HUFF!!!!! OH!!! WAIT! I have to get my breath back! OOOOOHHHHH
