It was an interesting show tonight. I guess it’s good that so many of them put their own spins on the songs, since that’s what the judges want, but I guess I was just a little disappointed not to hear the songs the way I know and love them. Still, I wish they had done this theme earlier in the season so there could have been more performances; there were so many songs I would’ve liked to have heard! :)
Ditto here BWJen. He has such an extensive repertoire that it would’ve been nice to hear more. It’s always strange to hear individual spins on the songs though. I remember one of the times I saw Phantom (when I’d seen it already), and I mis-remembered the placement of one of the scenes so I’d thought they’d left the chandelier out. I was in a bit of a tizzy till they did it – in the correct scene, of course. Then I was quite happy, LOL! Well that really has nothing to do with original takes on the songs, but oh well. ;)
That must’ve been really frustrating, Huff, especially since that’s such a BIG moment in the show! I’ve only seen the movie once or twice, but I think I remember being annoyed that they had changed the placement of that scene.
Then you two shouldn’t watch the episode of the Simpsons when they “recreate” Evita – they put a lot of individual spin on the songs, lol!

Evening everyone! I have AI on in the background, but I haven’t truly watched enough this season to care much one way or the other. I love Andrew Lloyd Webber, but I never think anyone really does his songs well other than Broadway divas, lol. I am mainly waiting for the Dancing results.
This has been a very long day of surfing the net without getting much of anything done at all, but I did explore a few more of those sites/issues I talked about before…. and no lightning bolts so far! I am keeping fingers crossed, LOL.
Really just checking in to say hi and stay caught up, I still have to deal with dinner and all manner of boring regular stuff before I get ready for lunch tomorrow, can’t wait! See you guys later, have fun.
Oh, one piece of news: LemonPrincess auditioned for and won the part of the quads (four drums) for marching band, so she is very excited about that. They are huge and heavy and she is tiny (tall, but tiny) so I hope she can manage them throughout long parades, but she is happy, so that is all that matters. :)
