Hi forgetmenot! It’s good to see your post in the morning again. I hope you’re feeling much better!

I’m heading out for my last day of training. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day outside, reaching close to 80 degrees. Our instructor said we should be able to finish early and be out by 3:30. Of course, I have work to finish at home after that, but at least I’ll be able to enjoy the sun on the hour drive home! :)

Have a great day everyone!

Congratulations lemonPrincess I’m really pleased for you.

forgetmenot little elmo blushed when he read your post about him winning the Orangutan beauty pageant – he’s writing his acceptance speech at the moment.

Huff elmo would be delighted to accompany you on your banana shopping trip. He just asks that you behave yourself, he mentioned that the last time you went shopping together he was embarrassed when you starting swinging from chandeliers and shop canopies – remember elmo is a dignified and rather shy orangutan ha ha ha ha

Also again to all those people I havent spoken to – thanks for your congratulations, everyone has been so nice. My tutor emailed me today and is planning on booking me onto a PhD taster course!!!!!

cordelia obviously the pants were old- or shrunk in the wash, that happens to me all the time :-)

Hi mystic I was wondering where you had got to this morning.

Hello Wolfie & Elmo, I had a little bit of traffic on my way into work this morning, but I finally got here at 6:32am, most of the time in the morning I have a pretty clear shot, BW Parkway, 95 into 295, 11th street bridge, Washington Navy Yard, Washington DC, if I don’t have any traffic I can do it in 25 minutes, from Laurel, Md. afternoon’s thought even leaving work at 3pm I still have quite a bit of traffic, like yesterday I left at 3pm did not get home until 4:15pm, 95 was conjested and backed up!!!

Mystic I hate being stuck in traffic, its one of the things that really makes me rant. It seems like such a waste of time (although I have found that playing audio books in my car at least makes me feel like I am doing something rather than sitting around and fuming)

95 minutes to do a 25 minute journey is dreadful

Mistic, I used to travel between Baltimore and DC/Springfield. I have been known to spend 3 hours in traffic starting at 3:30pm. Springfield was the worst. I used to get up at 5am to go to work. I had no life when I was up there, just me and the highway.

Lemon, How did you get through the learning curve when your children were learning their instruments. Drums do not have headphones. My son wants to start the trumpet. He has borrowed one to practice and “try out.” My house is not big enough for me and that trumpet.

Congratulations LP! You are talented and have loving parents.

FreeElf my oldest neice is learning the Cello, which is a beautiful instrument when played properly, but sets your teeth on edge when its not. Luckily we are over the learning hump now and she actually plays it very well, but the first 6-7 months where excrutiating

Lady Hawke

I wasn’t around much yesterday so I’ll have to catch up later. I had two doctor’s appointments with my father and mother yesterday and their wheelchair and walkers.

Today I have one appointment with the above. Then, I am going to clean their house.

It is going to be 89 degrees today. I have a sinus infection but I did manage to talk my allergy doctor into a prescription when I went for my shot yesterday between rounds with my parents.

I hope to be back today for a little while and maybe I can catch up.

Have a good day today.

Hello, everyone. ;)

I can really sympathize with the traffic woes. My 25 mile commute now takes an hour, if the lights are all working.

This morning I hit 3 traffic lights that were not working. Luckily most people here do the right thing and treat them like 4-way stops. But even doing that gets a bit more difficult when there are 3 lanes of traffic in all four directions.

It took me an extra 15 minutes to get here, but that’s ok, my coworker who is supposed to come in 15 minutes after I do and stay till closing did not show up. So instead of leaving at 4:45 I’ll just stay until 5:00 and shut down the phone lines. ;)

Lady Hawke Good luck with all the doctors visits. ;)

Whoever said they are in bread distribution, My nephew had a bread route a few years ago and it almost killed him. He does not carry any extra weight and he was losing a pound to a pound and a half a day. We practically had to have an intervention to get him to quit that job. He looked extremely ill and could never take a day off, much less a vacation.

I feel for you if your job is that horrid. It could have been just the company he worked for, perhaps they are not all that bad. ;)

I need to go take care of some business. ;)

Bbl. ;)

BWJen Aww, thank you! And have a nice last day at your training. I hope you’ll get to enjoy the sunshine. :-)

Wolfie, FreeElf and Mistic I sypathise with the traffic as I find it horrible too to waste my time with heavy traffic. I now go by bike and it is sometimes very satisfying to cycle past the cars stuck in a traffic jam, lol.

FreeElf Oh yes, a trumpet can be a bit hard to bear. But actually that shouldn’t be a problem. There are mufflers which reduce the sound a lot. They are stuck in the open end of the trumpet and then only the player can hear it. I have friends who use it, because they live in a flat and don’t want to annoy their neighbours.

Thank you forgetmenot. I think the friend who lent the instrument forgot to tell me. He knew I was having a hard time during practices. He is a muscian and all of his kids are. He was probably wondering when I would crack.

Morning all! I’m actually typing this at 4.0pm, but this morning I was busy working on my photographs from my outing yesterday. Today, which I thought was going to be wet, has been warm and sunny, so I hung out some laundry then started to dig out the weeds which have grown since my last session. I am finding it very hard work. Bbl.

Headmistress LemonFaerie

Good morning, Leaky! I am just running through, as I have to start getting ready for lunch with Rhiannon!!! :)

FreeElf I do sympathize with the trumpet. I can handle drums but brass instruments are very hard on my ears, even when played well. LemonPrincess started out on a violin and that year was a bit difficult. I played the violin myself in 3rd grade and distinctly remember my parents cringing and asking me if I was SURE I really needed to go practice when I announced I was going to, LOL. I played piano for a couple of years, too, but never liked my teacher so that sort of put me off the whole thing (I am rebellious that way) and I have a hard time coordinating my right and left hands and reading the music without looking at them (I also do not type “properly” so this is an ongoing problem!) but then I found the flute and that turned out to be my instrument. I have played that and the piccolo since 7th grade, but even I had to wear ear plugs to practice the piccolo at home, not because I wasn’t good at it, but just because it is so loud and piercing even when it is played correctly. Luckily, LemonPrincess is a total natural on the drums, she has been good at them since the first day she started playing. I really enjoy listening to her, especially when she is on the full set (like in a rock band, with the bass, a couple of snares and a couple of cymbals) it is just a lot of fun. But when it is too late to practice without our neighbors wanting to kill us all, or if I need it quieter, she has a “practice pad” that she can beat on instead and that is pretty quiet. For the trumpet, I recommend ear plugs, or an iPod turned way up. :)

Forgetmenot I am really glad you are feeling better, it is so good to see your owl again!

LadyHawke I am totally exhausted just thinking about your day, I hope it goes as smoothly as possible. Don’t forget to take care of yourself in there, too, after everything you have dealt with and been through you don’t want to fall apart now.

TRAFFIC!!!! When I was a lot younger I actually used to enjoy it. I would roll all my windows down, blast my music and flirt with the cute guys in neighboring cars, or just daydream the whole time, it was like my own little island of time just to me (these were the days before cell phones, too, so no one could reach me) but nowadays it absolutely drives me wild. When my girls were going to UW Seattle for volleyball camp last summer and we had to sit in traffic all the way up there and all the way home every day for two weeks straight I was ready to go postal on those people. I do not know how people stand it. All of you who have to deal with it to commute for work have my utmost sympathies!

Have to run for now, but I hope you all have a good day. Rhiannon and * will fill you all in on lunch when we get back! :)

Good Morning Everyone

Sun is shining again and I have done nothing but think about doing something. Lol

Free Elf If you can perserve through the beginning, the trumpet is really a beautiful instrument to listen too. My Granddaughter plays it and is First Chair. She really enjoys Band at school and the special bands that she plays in. It helps to keep them interested in school.

Lemon I hope you and Rhiannon have a nice day for your visit.

Mistic Willow I always talk about you and your voting to the D/S when we are watching AI.

Sirius and Won_Two

Talladega this week end!

The new car made last year sort of a dud but this year may be like old times. Just hope our drivers miss the big one! BTW, which drivers do you follow *Won_Two?

The D/S just called to remind me to open windows because it’s 80 degrees. I do forget to open them. Not a problem when the a/c is on but I forget when it’s not. It doesn’t get hot in the house until it’s time for him to get home.

No, just worklurking. ;)

My boss wants a file that he never shared with anyone except a former employee who failed to turn in about half her files.

So…..We can’t find it and we only found very faint and illegible traces of the information he wants. We have enough to know that the file did exist, but not the actual file. ;)

2 more days until vacation!! ;)

Hi everyone.

Just a quick pop in for me, I am so tired. I’ve had a good but challenging few days.

Had to come and say CONGRATULATIONS WOLFIE, What a wonderful result, no wonder you are so delighted and proud! Well done!! Also, I hope you and your sister have a wonderful and relaxing time in Barcelona. Have a fab trip, and let us know all about it.

I hope Lemon and Rhiannon are having a wonderful lunch….I believe it’s about 1.30 their time, so RIGHT NOW they could be tucking into their main course! Isn’t it great to think of them meeting!

I hope you are all well, and having a good “hump day” to quote Laura! (I like that expression!)
