They made him lie absolutely still and flat for about 3 hours. He wasn’t to move his leg or raise his head.

As soon as they were done and called us back to see him they sent me with a food voucher to the cafeteria to acquire him some food. I was already due to pick up my daughter from school so I had to go for her first and pick the food up on our way back in.

The only food that looked suitable for eating while lying flat was chicken tenders so my father and my daughter had a chicken tender eating party in recovery.

They were very kind to let my daughter stay, although children under 12 are not allowed back there. Unless someone is kind what do you do when there is essentually, you, the patient and a child under 12? I couldn’t have left her in the waiting room and I needed to be back there with my parents. My mother isn’t much more mobile than he was and it was our responsibility to do everything for him and keep him still.

As soon as the 3 hours was up they walked my father up and down the hall and brought him back and told him to get dressed. As soon as he was dressed they told me to go for the car.

As soon as we were all in the car my father suggested ice cream. So, off we went to a drive through for ice cream. I was so tired I just couldn’t do any ice cream. Everyone else had ice cream or malts.

When I got home my DS had Kentucky Fried Chicken and Fixings on the counter. Thank goodness. We ate and watched some TV. I came and posted here and went to bed.

This next week is going to be sort of busy but I hope it is winding down. If we are successful in getting him off the catheter it will be a beautiful thing.

Thanks Everyone.

I sure do hope it stops raining here today… It is sooo waterlogged on my property that you actually sink into the ground an inch or so when you walk on any surface not paved or covered in crushed stone… What a mess… Hope all is well with everyone… I am off to the gym and then I too shall go to Shoppers and git some provisions for the coming week… Latr all… Cheers!

Oops!! Ginny

I just caught up again enough to know that you are to receive Congratulations! It is amazing how much changes so very quickly when you are reading posts in large bundles and not in a reasonable manner as they come in.

Good Morning Won_Two and Mistic Willow

I’ll probably be in and out today. The DS and child are working in the yard again before the storms get cooked up.

So, I’ll be doing stuff inside and checking in here from time to time.

My house is such a wreck I can hardly figure out where or how to start. The thing is, I am so far behind on the essentials I don’t know how I can even think about the stuff that has just laid fallow for 2 1/2 months.

Good Morning Everyone

I woke up early because of my Harley dog needed to go out.(4:30 AM). While I was up I noticed that I hadn’t washed my dishes. So I was washing dishes early this morning. Thank goodness I rinse all the food off of them before stacking them up to be washed. That comes from years of having a dishwasher. Every one of my kids do this too. My grandkids do too but I noticed they were getting a little slack on getting all the food off. I had to explain to them that it was important to get all the food off because you never knew when I would notice they needed to be washed. I don’t mind clean dishes waiting on a proper washing but don’t want any dishes with food stuck on them waiting. Lol

Mistic Willow Too bad about the cold. I recently got chilled and had a cold for only one day. Probably the shortest cold in my life. I hope you are as fortunate. Is Shoppers a kind of super store?. When I read your post, I just assumed you meant going shopping but when Won_Two said he needed to stop at Shoppers for some supplies and you both live in the same part of the country, I thought it must be a store. ( I don’t know why but I always want to write Won_Ton instead of Won_Two. I look at it and know it’s not right, so always have to look up the correct name.)

BookwormJen You are indeed a great aunt and sister. I seem to recall that you were looking forward to going to the zoo with your nephews. Either way, you are so nice to stay with the little one so the rest of the family could enjoy their outting at the zoo. I had no one who lived close that I could leave my kids with when they were small so every time I see you are babysitting, I always think how nice you are.

Lady Hawke Glad your D/S was thoughtful and had your dinner waiting on you when you got home. I thought you might have had a sleep in this morning, but I see you are back at it.

Minerva Yes I do eventually finish projects but it takes me a long time to do them. When I think about all the wedding dresses, prom dresses, curtians, and other things I have sewed during my lifetime, it is pathetic the time I spent surfing the internet to find something to remind me how to make pinch pleated drapes. It was easy to find how to make them with the backing that you just have to stick prongs in to make the pleats, but I knew I use to make them without this. Eventually I found enough information so I could figure out how much material I needed for each pair. They are not finished yet. I’m still sewing on them but the ones I have gotten done, look good. It takes longer when you have to stop every time you need something like your sissors or pins that are out of your sight range. I usually just feel to find something but when your sewing, I’m afraid I will knock something over on what I’m sewing. I will eventually get them all finished.

I need to get started working now but had to come to Leaky first. Lol

I really need to get to work on the laundry Lion and her cubs. We will need clean clothes or at least underclothes for next week. ;)

I don’t wanna!!

But I must!

But I don’t wanna!! Oh, OK I’ll unpack and sort the clothes (pout).

It’s a start! (Looking virtuous)

Good afternoon everyone!

Sorry for being away so long. I am quite busy at the moment and have a few other things on my mind or troubling me. And I won’t be online much during the next weeks. I didn’t catch up really, so I apologise for not answering any posts. But I hope everyone is well. :-)

And I have a message for you: Cordelia says Hi! She is well, but busy.

Deanie

I just caught up to the place where you were saying that young women don’t know the art of chasing a man until SHE is caught.

I don’t know if you can still tell through all the years of marriage and mommyhood but I definitely fell into that category. My father spent my entire childhood telling me I was as smart and as good as any boy and that I was never to let a boy win if I could beat him.

As a result I did very well for myself in school but I could never turn off the competition, even when I was dating. I didn’t know how to relate to a guy except by “proving my worth” every minute. I didn’t date much and didn’t date long when I did.

Fortunately, I met my DS who admires competiveness and the fact that occassionally I win and sometimes I lose but never through lack of trying. He is a game player and wouldn’t like it if he knew he was winning because I was throwing a game.

I was lucky to find someone who would accept me as I am and encourage our daughter to be the same way.

But a part of me wishes I had at least known how to play the game, even if I chose never to use it. I STILL have NO idea of how to chase a man until he catches me.

I’m a Southern girl and we are all supposed to be Scarlett O’Haras and just KNOW how to do that. How do you do that? It seems that it would just be another piece of power to add to the arsenal, knowing how to do that.

HEADMISTRESS LEMONFARIE I was lucky that I only ordered a book, unlucky that the book was Fingernail Files: A Pictorial History.

Okay taking a small break and posting at Leaky! Sigh.

Ironsos – You are so funny! I am so glad you joined our little group.

LadyHawke – I am happy that you are finally getting to stay here and post with us.

Wolfie – I want to go the PUB! I want to relax and drink. I do not want to be here doing chores. It is beautiful outside!!

Deanie – I can certainly sympathize with your rant about the laundry. I wish that is all I had to do. :(

Geez! I must be overworked if I am looking forward to only having laundry to do.

Forgetmenot Nice to see you, don’t work too hard. Thank you for the message from Cordelia, fortunately I remembered that she is busy with her studies. Give her our love.

Wolfie I think you are having sunnier weather on the west coast, but it is very mild here. Enjoy yourself at the pub!

Lady Hawke You are not allowed to be guilty about neglected housework!! It is not as if you had been out on a spree for the last couple of months. Just allow yourself to recuperate for a while longer and build up your strength before you tackle any backlog. Catch up on your sleep, that will do you a world of good.

BWJenn I just knew you would love Cranford

CoolG What would we do without the internet to fill the gaps in our knowledge/memory? I rely heavily on IMDb to recall actors’ names, or film titles, it is so frustrating when you can see the faces and even hear their voices, but the name is just tantalisingly out of reach.

PB I hope we get to see a photograph of you in your tux, I love the idea of a pink waistcoat. Have a wonderful time!

I cannot teach it, but I do know how to play the game. It is not genetic and Scarlett O’Hara was not really very good at it. She is not the right role model for that.

Your classic bimbo pushover is not a proper role model either. She is a victim.

I suppose the first qualification is to be confident enough to know that sometimes when you seem to lose, you win the greater prize.

I suppose that it helped that I can, when I want to, sound like most men’s idea of Scarlett. It also helped that I dated mostly men from northern states who were not used to the iron fist (or will) being enveloped in a velvet glove.

The only man who did not always let me run right over him is my DS. He is a southern boy and at least had an idea of how to play this particular game. ;)

I suppose that is why we have been married for over 33 years. ;)

PB have a great time at your SENIOR BALL!!

We want pictures!!!

Think he heard me??

Maybe we should send Bug to go spy on him at his senior prom. You know tag along on his shoulder or hair. Maybe take some pictures of him in his Tux. Because you know that as a male he will not take pictures. I will eat my green hat if he even remembers a camara.

Bug, Bug!!! I have a job for you!!

I am looking into my crystal ball. . .

I foresee. . . a Lemon – length post coming!!!

Tiara, hoop skirt, and wand – all is “GO!!!!”

Catching up. . .

Lemon Ooooooooh, an Italian DS!!! So then how did I get the impression that you didn’t like pasta? Oh right, that was because of the time you ate Dove chocolates instaed of tortellini. Granted that would be hard for me to turn up, but I just would have eaten both. LOL!!! :P

Sorry to hear about your son’s pictures. :( It’s impossible to not miss some things when you’re so busy so don’t beat yourself up. At least next week will still be a good picture!!!

Interesting about “Iron Man”. I know Dragon Rider liked it but it doesn’t seem to be my type of movie, though I like sci fi and comics. I think I will try to see “Baby Mama” – it sounds cute and I love love love the interaction between Amy Poelher and Tina Fey!!! LOL! When they were the anchors on “Weekend Update” I would stay up just to watch it. But I really like Seth Meyers. LOL!!!!

“If you’re really curious, if you have internet….”

ROTFLMAO!!! She had no idea who she was talking to, eh?? hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! “IF!!!!” LOLOLOLOL!!!!

BTW Ironsos I forgot to thank you for getting us back on the poll topic last night, even if it was for all of four posts (including your initial post). If the trolls come I will be sure to refer them to pages 1-3, and also 95. LOL!!! I’ve only posted on four polls, I think, but does anyone who’s posted longer than me know if we’ve ever gotten back on topic on page 95??? LOL!!!! Though I think your question gets to the heart of the worries about fandom, Ironsos, and is very relevant. I have my days of pessimism about the consequences of the trial, but they don’t last long since pessimism about lots of other things tend to be more immediate. Sigh.

Graymayne hope the sunshine is improving for you!! :D Happy shopping! Whoooo!

BWJen I’m gonna echo “CoolG” – you are the best sis and aunt!!! I wish you’d gotten to go to the zoo, but hopefully when the little guy is older, all of you can go!

MM good luck with the work. As you can see I am hard at work right now!! But it looks like you’ve gotten your own behind to work; it’s been 5 hours!! :D You are such a role model for me. Yes, you. But not so much your alter ego, which doesn’t exist. Hmmm, if she doesn’t exist then she can’t be a role model for me! Ha!!! :P :)

Lady Hawke hope you and your family got some good rest last night! :D

Mistic Willow sorry to hear about the cold. Healing energy headed your way!!! Mmmmmmm, tea with honey and lemon!! :D BTW very nice selection from SlutsRUs!! :)

Won_Two we had lots of mud around in the early bit of April, but it’s kind of dried out, thank goodness! Hope your area dries out a little too!!

CoolG nothin’ like the 4:30am dishwashing sessions, eh? :)

Deanie interesting conversation with yourself. My fave alternative to the laundry lion is to just go shopping. ;) But that gets pricey after too long. As in, once.

forgetmenot great to see you again!! Sorry to hear things will be busy/troubling you, but it’ll be great to see your flowers/owl/Bunny anytime! :D Thanks for the message about Cordelia!! :) Here is a case of Nutella for you and Bunny, as well as a Mai-Tai ARP with lots of strengthening spells on it, to tide you over while being busy. :)

wolife glad your weather is good, have fun outside!! :D

Ironsos shopping bug??? Did you say shopping bug?? Wait for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a shopping bug!!!

PB Have a GREAT time tonight!!! :D

Speaking of which, Bug wants to return. Since MM is busy, I think I can off the shades and still be safe. ;)

OK I really gotta get back to work. And then enjoy the weather, too! So I will try to BBL but don’t be surprised if it’s actually BBT. :)

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
