Cool Grandma

Won_Two, I’ll be thinking of you watching the race on a home theater. Actually I have one too but the D/S has problems with it. His eardrums make it uncomfortable to have it on. So I will be watching with just regular TV sounds. :(

Of course I could go in the other room and watch it on the big TV but I’d rather watch it with him. All this expensive video and audio equipment and we just watch regular tv. Lol

Sirius* I hope you are all ready to watch the race. I’ll be pulling for Jr tonight but if that doesn’t happen Jeff, Jimmie, and Smoke in that order. Little Scrub better watch out tonight!

Apparently we are under a Tornado Watch until Midnight. It is overcast but the DS is grilling steaks and there is no sign of rain yet.

I just looked at the radar and we have two red blobs to the west of us so it looks like we may have patches of severe weather later on.

We were so dry for so long and now we are practically squishy. I know Won_Two says he is literally squishy. It looks like we are about to be.

CoolG and Ironsos, I hope your race goes your way tonight. It seems pretty quiet around here otherwise.

OOOPS!! I just heard the first rumble of thunder. I guess I’ll go now. We hardly ever lose power since we have underground cables but I’m always expecting it to happen. I’ll go find some flashlights.

Lady Hawke Thanks for the good wishes for our drivers. I have more than one that I follow so as long as one of them win, I’m ok with it. Not happy if it’s not my main driver but can live with it if it’s a driver that I like. Lol

I hope the watch stays just a watch. As you know, your weather usually makes its way to me. It was nice all day. The kids came over and said it was hot in the house, so I opened the windows. Soon it will be the A/C but I’m putting that off as long as I can. I never seem to notice it’s hot until about 3:00 PM so I don’t think to open the windows until then.

I feel for PB when he talks about his Grandmother turning off the AC when he’s hot. I never turn it off but I don’t think about turning it on either. Lol

Good evening everyone! Yeah, couldn’t stay away. LOL! Ended up doing some cleaning rather than work work, but the cleaning needed doing too, so yay!!!

Graymayne and BWJen I will definitely watch the 2nd part of Cranford tomorrow! Alas, I tried watching my tape of it, but for some reason my VCR decided to record 30 sec of conversation, followed by 10-15 sec of silence, all thru the movie! :( So I didn’t get much out of the 2nd viewing. I’ll be sure to concentrate on the actual broadcast tomorrow!!! Hopefully I got enough from last week to get it. I think I did. :)

Ironsos LOL!!!!! I don’t need medication, I am high on LIFE!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

MM I am so glad you’re getting help. Bravo. Bravo!!!!

Josephine love the bird!! Pretty! :)

LP I can’t believe I missed your party!!! :( I like the idea of a mother’s day party!! Hope you have something special planned for your mom!! :) And you cleaned up really well! :)

PB hope you’re having fun right now!!!!!!!!!! :D

I’ll be lurking. . . :) Enjoy the Nascar, Won_Two, CoolG, and Ironsos!!! Vrooom vrooom!

Ironsos You should know by now but Mark took a pretty good lick in the Nationwise Practice the other day. Since I think you said you don’t get ESPN you probably didn’t get a chance to see it. They should have had a video of it on their website or on Nascar.com.

They use to show the race online but haven’t since ESPN took over the broadcasting of the Nationwise series. I haven’t looked to see if any other site shows it. You might check it out.

Yes the websites, ESPN/ Nascar, Speed/Nacar, Fox/Nascar all show highlights of the races plus the race ending. That’s mainly how I get most of my information.

I have an RSS feed or whatever you call it on my homepage that gives the top Nascar news. I print out the articles of what will interest the D/S. Also so I can remember it. Lol

Good evening, Leaky! Hope everyone had a great day today. I finally got my hair done after over a year, it was 3 hours of HEAVEN!!! And I look more like “me” again. Not the thin me, that was beyond her capabilities (I did ask) but at least me. She is a new stylist for me so I was a bit nervous, but I think she did a great job and the family likes it, so that is good news. :)

I hope all you NASCAR crazy people enjoy your races! They aren’t in danger of being called for weather are they?

MisticWillow I hope you feel better, that seems to be going around. Lots of vitamin C!

PB have LOTS of FUN tonight!! And be safe. And yes you will post your pics or ELSE.

LadyHawke and Deanie I hope your weather stays clear and you all stay safe, it seems like the south has gotten way more than its fair share of severe weather already this year. LadyHawke I am still just so happy about your Dad!!! I hope the news continues to be good.

sniff sniff I cannot figure out what that smell is in the castle, do you guys know what it is? It almost smells like smoke… Hmm. Very strange.

HUFF And MM I am not sure what medication you two are on but you need to increase the dose, by a lot!!! Posted by ironsos on May 10, 2008 @ 02:53 PM”

Headmistress – It does not smell like smoke!!

Huff and I wore out our wands trying to clean. Deanie brought in flowers from the garden. Won_Two, LadyHawke’s DS and Cool G have been cooking and barbqueing so that the great smells of food cover up whatever residue there is.

I am pretty sure all the smells and evidence are gone!! How could you possibly still smell smoke??

BTW I am also a huge Bath & Body Works fan! I love the Warm Vanilla Sugar and I bought all the eBay sellers out of their discontinued bottles of Water Blossom Ivy and Cool Mountain Waters.

But back to business… Don’t you two know you could have burned down the castle??? I applaud the mission and your, uh, enthusiasm, but really! We must be more careful next time, yes? OK. All is well, after all, you did do a pretty darn good job with the scourgifying. So, how about some ARPs and let’s relax for the evening? Where’s Huff?

Bookworm Jen

Hello everyone! I had been refreshing here and there throughout the day as I would walk by the computer, so I wouldn’t have as much to read tonight. So now I just scrolled back quickly to try to catch as much as I could of what I had wanted to comment on. Sorry if I miss anything, but if I go back and read everything thoroughly, it will defeat the purpose of reading quickly throughout the day, LOL. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try to jot down notes as I read…although if I’m going to do that, I might as well just post as I’m reading! Anyway, I’m getting sidetracked….here is my catch-up post:

korey, I was so glad to hear from you! I’m sorry that the diagnosis wasn’t what you’d hoped, but also relieved that you kept pushing when the doctors were trying to dismiss your fears. Hopefully things will now take a turn for the better. Has the doctor said if they were able to remove all of the cancer by removing the entire thyroid? Definitely keep us updated whenever you’re feeling up to it; I’m adding my healing energy to that which has already been sent your way, along with lots of hugs! :)

Ginny, I was going to say I was sorry to hear that you lost your job, but moments later I am now happy to see that you’ve already found a new one and have therefore edited my message, lol. Congratulations!

asti, I completely sympathize with your aggravation at the long hospital wait, but am relieved to hear that nothing’s wrong!

ironsos, I haven’t really had a chance to talk with you much, but your posts have been cracking me up!

Lady Hawke, great news about your father not having any blockages! I hope this is a sign that things will finally be quieting down for you!

CoolG, you’re right; I had wanted to go to the zoo on Monday, but I had forgotten that they were going this weekend. It’s okay—I got to go to the aquarium yesterday, so at least I got to see some animals this week! ;) I enjoy spending time with my nephews, and it’s really only my dad and I who are around to help out with babysitting and stuff, since my mom moved up to Maine; I just wish I had more time to do even more.

PB, hope you’re having fun at the dance; I can’t wait to see pics!

LOL, Huff! I don’t care for beer; I’ll just transform mine to a regular old margarita. (I did see Sam Adams’ grave this week though. Just a random fact I thought I’d throw out there.) ;)

Well, that was different. We have had all our windows open as the temperature has been nice. As we sat down to eat the storm was getting started but we were watching a DVD while we were eating and were just ignoring it.

All the sudden it started raging and the sound of it changed. I thought it was hail and it might have been but as I rushed to the window to look I realized that it didn’t matter if it was hailing.

It was flooding my dining room through the open windows. I don’t mean a light scattering of rain drops on the floor I mean pools of water about 3 feet in on my hard wood floor. My dining room windows are under the cover of the front porch so you can imagine how much water was coming in sideways to get that far in the house.

I screamed for towels as I started pulling windows down and my DS screamed something. He made a dash for the kitchen windows and then we both went for towels.

After we mopped everything up he told me the wind had ripped the screen out of one of the kitchen windows and that it was lying on the ground outside.

It is pretty quiet again right now but I’m still a bit nervous. We are under the Tornado Watch until midnight.

And now I will never feel content going to bed and going to sleep with the windows open on a night when a storm comes through. I’ve always liked sleeping through storms.

Now I’ll be worried about my dining room floor and I’ll be worried a screen could be ripped out again and that one of our cats or even a dog could get out if the storm passes and they start investigating.

Whoa, I must’ve made the margarita a bit too strong – it’s completely knocking me out; I’ll have to work on my drink transformation spells! In the meantime, I’ve got to head to bed. Much as I love my nephew, I do have to admit that I rather wish I didn’t have to be woken up at 5am by a baby crying on my last day of vacation! Ah well, his cute face will make up for it! Talk to you tomorrow. :)

BWJen I was thinking beer wasn’t the right path to go down. Somehow cough MM and Lemon cough it’s easy for me to remember those who like margaritas so you’re in luck! LOL! :) ‘cept for CoolG, sorry, if you like margaritas too, I dunno why I just can’t remember!!!

There are also cookies (soft and chewy with anti-rock-i-fying spells on them), cake, pie, wings, nachos, and pizza (pineapple and non. . . hmmm, Ironsos are you a pineapple pizza eater? I think you are, you have such good taste!!) on the Great Hall buffet table!

Ironsos your post last night about the pasta has opened my eyes. Now I know the reason for my figure!!! It’s the posts I’ve been typing, not the hours spent sitting on my duff at the computer!!!!

I guess I’m going to try to go to bed. If I can’t sleep I’ll come back. My adrenalin is still pumping pretty hard. But I have GoF to read and my audience is waiting. If I don’t go now I’ll decide I’m too tired to read out loud, even if I can’t sleep, and I won’t be popular.
